1 AND HE SAID DAVID THIS IT [IS] [THE] HOUSE YAHWEH <THE> GOD AND THIS [IS THE] ALTAR FOR BURNT OFFERING FOR ISRAEL
Preparations for the Temple
1 Then David said, “Here shall be the house of the LORD God, as well as the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”
2 AND HE SAID DAVID TO GATHER <OBJ.> THE SOJOURNERS WHO [WERE] IN [THE] LAND OF ISRAEL AND HE APPOINTED STONE CUTTERS TO CUT STONES OF HEWN [STONE] TO BUILD [THE] HOUSE OF <THE> GOD
2 So David gave orders to gather the foreigners in the land of Israel, from whom he appointed stonecutters to prepare finished stones for building the house of God.
3 AND IRON TO ABUNDANCE FOR THE NAILS FOR [THE] DOORS OF THE GATES AND FOR THE CLAMPS HE PREPARED DAVID AND BRONZE TO ABUNDANCE THERE NOT [WAS] WEIGHT
3 David provided a large quantity of iron to make the nails for the doors of the gateways and for the fittings, together with more bronze than could be weighed
4 AND WOOD<S> OF CEDAR<S> TO THERE NOT [WAS] NUMBER FOR THEY HAD BROUGHT THE SIDONIANS AND THE TYRIANS WOOD<S> OF CEDAR<S> TO ABUNDANCE TO DAVID
4 and more cedar logs than could be counted; for the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought a large quantity of cedar logs to David.
5 AND HE SAID DAVID SOLOMON SON MY [IS] A YOUTH AND WEAK AND THE HOUSE TO BUILD FOR YAHWEH [IS] TO MAKE GREAT <TO> UPWARDS <TOWARDS> FOR A NAME AND FOR HONOR TO ALL THE LANDS I WILL PREPARE PLEASE FOR IT AND HE PREPARED DAVID TO ABUNDANCE <TO> BEFORE DEATH HIS
5 And David said, “My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the LORD must be exceedingly magnificent— famous and glorious throughout all lands. Therefore I must make preparations for it.” So David made lavish preparations before his death.
6 AND HE SUMMONED <TO> SOLOMON SON HIS AND HE COMMANDED HIM TO BUILD A HOUSE FOR YAHWEH [THE] GOD OF ISRAEL
Solomon Anointed to Build the Temple
6 Then David called for his son Solomon and instructed him to build a house for the LORD, the God of Israel.
7 AND HE SAID DAVID TO SOLOMON O SON MY I IT WAS WITH HEART MY TO BUILD A HOUSE FOR [THE] NAME OF YAHWEH GOD MY
7 “My son,” said David to Solomon, “it was in my heart to build a house for the Name of the LORD my God,
8 AND IT CAME TO ME [THE] WORD OF YAHWEH <TO> SAYING BLOOD TO ABUNDANCE YOU HAVE SHED AND WARS GREAT YOU HAVE MADE NOT YOU WILL BUILD A HOUSE FOR NAME MY FOR BLOOD<S> MUCH YOU HAVE SHED [THE] GROUND TOWARDS <TO> BEFORE ME
8 but this word of the LORD came to me: ‘You have shed much blood and waged great wars. You are not to build a house for My Name because you have shed so much blood on the ground before Me.
9 HERE! A SON [IS] ABOUT TO BE BORN TO YOU HE HE WILL BE A MAN OF REST AND I WILL GIVE REST TO HIM FROM ALL ENEMIES HIS FROM ROUND ABOUT FOR SOLOMON IT WILL BE NAME HIS AND PEACE AND QUIETNESS I WILL GIVE TO ISRAEL IN DAYS HIS
9 But a son will be born to you who will be a man of rest. I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side; for his name will be Solomon, and I will grant to Israel peace and quiet during his reign.
10 HE HE WILL BUILD A HOUSE FOR NAME MY AND HE HE WILL BECOME OF ME <INTO> A SON AND I OF HIM <INTO> A FATHER AND I WILL ESTABLISH [THE] THRONE OF KINGDOM HIS OVER ISRAEL UNTIL PERPETUITY
10 He is the one who will build a house for My Name. He will be My son, and I will be his Father. And I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever
11 NOW O SON MY MAY HE BE YAHWEH WITH YOU AND YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL AND YOU WILL BUILD [THE] HOUSE OF YAHWEH GOD YOUR JUST AS HE SPOKE ON YOU
11 Now, my son, may the LORD be with you, and may you succeed in building the house of the LORD your God, as He said you would.
12 ONLY MAY HE GIVE TO YOU YAHWEH INSIGHT AND UNDERSTANDING AND HE WILL APPOINT YOU OVER ISRAEL AND TO KEEP <OBJ.> [THE] LAW OF YAHWEH GOD YOUR
12 Above all, may the LORD give you insight and understanding when He puts you in command over Israel, so that you may keep the Law of the LORD your God.
13 THEN YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL IF YOU WILL TAKE CARE TO OBSERVE <OBJ.> THE STATUTES AND <OBJ.> THE JUDGMENTS WHICH HE COMMANDED YAHWEH <OBJ.> MOSES ON ISRAEL BE STRONG AND BE COURAGEOUS MAY NOT YOU BE AFRAID AND MAY NOT YOU BE DISMAYED
13 Then you will succeed, if you carefully follow the statutes and ordinances that the LORD commanded Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged.
14 AND HERE! IN AFFLICTION MY I HAVE PREPARED FOR [THE] HOUSE OF YAHWEH GOLD TALENTS ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND AND SILVER ONE THOUSAND THOUSAND<S> TALENTS AND [BELONGS] TO THE BRONZE AND TO THE IRON NOT WEIGHT FOR TO ABUNDANCE IT IS AND WOOD<S> AND STONE<S> I HAVE PREPARED AND TO THEM YOU WILL ADD
14 Now behold, I have taken great pains to provide for the house of the LORD— 100,000. talents of gold, 1,000,000. talents of silver, and bronze and iron too great to be weighed. I have also provided timber and stone, and you may add to them.
15 AND [ARE] WITH YOU TO ABUNDANCE DOERS OF WORK STONE CUTTERS AND CRAFTSMEN OF STONE AND WOOD AND EVERY SKILLFUL [PERSON] IN EVERY WORK
15 You also have many workers: stonecutters, masons, carpenters, and men skilled in every kind of work—
16 OF <THE> GOLD OF <THE> SILVER AND OF <THE> BRONZE AND OF <THE> IRON THERE NOT [IS] NUMBER ARISE AND ACT SO MAY HE BE YAHWEH WITH YOU
16 in gold and silver, bronze and iron— craftsmen beyond number. Now begin the work, and may the LORD be with you.”
17 AND HE COMMANDED DAVID TO ALL [THE] OFFICIALS OF ISRAEL TO HELP <TO> SOLOMON SON HIS
17 Then David ordered all the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon:
18 ¿ NOT [IS] YAHWEH GOD YOUR WITH YOU AND HAS HE GIVEN REST? TO YOU FROM ROUND ABOUT FOR HE HAS GIVEN IN HAND MY <OBJ.> [THE] INHABITANTS OF THE LAND AND IT HAS BEEN SUBDUED THE LAND <TO> BEFORE YAHWEH AND <TO> BEFORE PEOPLE HIS
18 “Is not the LORD your God with you, and has He not granted you rest on every side? For He has given the inhabitants of the land into my hand, and the land has been subdued before the LORD and His people.
19 NOW SET HEART YOUR AND BEING YOUR TO SEEK <TO> YAHWEH GOD YOUR AND ARISE AND BUILD <OBJ.> [THE] SANCTUARY OF YAHWEH <THE> GOD TO BRING <OBJ.> [THE] ARK OF [THE] COVENANT OF YAHWEH AND [THE] ARTICLES OF <THE> HOLINESS OF <THE> GOD TO THE HOUSE THAT WILL BE BUILT FOR [THE] NAME OF YAHWEH
19 Now set your heart and soul to seek the LORD your God. Begin building the sanctuary of the LORD God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD and the holy articles of God into the temple that will be built for the Name of the LORD.”
