19THEREFORE ALSO THOSE SUFFERING ACCORDING TO THE WILL <THE> OF GOD AS TO [THE] FAITHFUL CREATOR THEY SHOULD COMMIT THE SOULS OF THEM IN WELL DOING. 19So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should entrust their souls to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.

2DO SHEPHERD THE AMONG YOU FLOCK <THE> OF GOD EXERCISING OVERSIGHT NOT UNDER COMPULSION BUT WILLINGLY ACCORDING TO GOD, AND NOT FOR BASE GAIN BUT EAGERLY; 2Be shepherds of God’s flock that is among you, watching over them*NoteCloseNE and WH do not include watching over them. not out of compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you;*NoteCloseWH, BYZ, and TR but willingly not out of greed, but out of eagerness;
3NOT AS EXERCISING LORDSHIP OVER <THE> THOSE IN YOUR CHARGE BUT EXAMPLES BEING TO THE FLOCK; 3not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.
4AND WHEN WAS BEING REVEALED THE CHIEF SHEPHERD YOU WILL RECEIVE THE UNFADING <THE> OF GLORY CROWN. 4And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.
5LIKEWISE YOUNGER [ONES], DO BE SUBJECTED TO [YOUR] ELDERS, ALL NOW TO ONE ANOTHER BE SUBMITTING YOURSELVES <THE> HUMILITY DO GIRD ON, BECAUSE <THE> GOD [THE] PROUD OPPOSES, TO [THE] HUMBLE HOWEVER HE GIVES GRACE. Cast Your Cares on Him 5Young men, in the same way, submit yourselves to your elders. 6DO BE HUMBLED THEREFORE UNDER THE MIGHTY HAND <THE> OF GOD, SO THAT YOU HE MAY EXALT IN [DUE] TIME, 6Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, so that in due time He may exalt you.
7ALL THE ANXIETY OF YOU HAVING CAST UPON HIM, BECAUSE WITH HIM THERE IS CARE ABOUT YOU. 7Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.
8DO BE SOBER-MINDED, DO WATCH THAT THE ADVERSARY OF YOU [THE] DEVIL AS A LION ROARING HE PROWLS ABOUT SEEKING WHOM TO DEVOUR; 8Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
9WHOM DO RESIST FIRM IN THE FAITH KNOWING THE SAME <THE> SUFFERINGS <THE> THROUGHOUT THE WORLD IN YOUR BROTHERHOOD [IS] BEING ACCOMPLISHED. 9Resist him, standing firm in your faith and in the knowledge that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kinds of suffering.
10THE NOW GOD OF ALL GRACE THE [ONE] HAVING CALLED YOU TO THE ETERNAL OF HIM GLORY IN CHRIST JESUS A LITTLE WHILE [OF YOU] HAVING SUFFERED HE HIMSELF WILL PERFECT YOU HE WILL CONFIRM [YOU], HE WILL STRENGTHEN [YOU], [AND] HE WILL ESTABLISH [YOU].
