1O YAHWEH HEAR! PRAYER MY AND CRY FOR HELP MY TO YOU LET IT COME 1Hear my prayer, O LORD; let my cry for help come before You.
2MAY NOT YOU HIDE FACE YOUR FROM ME ON [THE] DAY [WHEN] IT IS DISTRESS TO ME INCLINE TO ME EAR YOUR ON [THE] DAY [WHEN] I WILL CALL OUT HURRY ANSWER ME 2Do not hide Your face from me in my day of distress Incline Your ear to me; answer me quickly when I call.
3FOR THEY HAVE COME TO AN END IN SMOKE DAYS MY AND BONES MY LIKE A HEARTH THEY HAVE BEEN BURNED 3For my days vanish like smoke, and my bones burn like glowing embers.
4IT HAS BEEN STRUCK LIKE <THE> VEGETATION AND IT HAS WITHERED HEART MY FOR I HAVE FORGOTTEN FROM EATING FOOD MY 4My heart is afflicted, and withered like grass; I even forget to eat my bread.
5FROM [THE] SOUND OF GROANING MY IT CLINGS BONE[S] MY TO FLESH MY 5Through my loud groaning my skin hangs on my bones.
6I AM LIKE <TO> A DESERT OWL OF [THE] WILDERNESS I AM LIKE AN OWL OF [THE] WASTE PLACES 6I am like a desert owl, like an owl among the ruins.
7I AM WAKEFUL AND I HAVE BECOME LIKE A BIRD ISOLATED ON A ROOF 7I lie awake; I am like a lone bird on a housetop.
8ALL THE DAY THEY HAVE TAUNTED ME ENEMIES MY [THOSE WHO] MOCK ME BY ME THEY HAVE SWORN 8All day long my enemies taunt me; they ridicule me and curse me.
9FOR ASH[ES] LIKE <THE> FOOD I HAVE EATEN AND DRINKS MY WITH WEEPING I HAVE MIXED 9For I have eaten ashes like bread and mixed my drink with tears
10<FROM> BECAUSE OF INDIGNATION YOUR AND WRATH YOUR FOR YOU HAVE PICKED UP ME AND YOU HAVE THROWN AWAY ME 10because of Your indignation and wrath, for You have picked me up and cast me aside.
11DAYS MY [ARE] LIKE A SHADOW EXTENDED AND I LIKE <THE> VEGETATION I AM WITHERING 11My days are like lengthening shadows, and I wither away like grass.
12AND YOU O YAHWEH FOR EVER YOU SIT AND REMEMBRANCE OF YOU [IS] TO A GENERATION AND A GENERATION 12But You, O LORD, sit enthroned forever; Your renown endures to all generations.
13YOU YOU WILL ARISE YOU WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON ZION FOR [IT IS] [THE] TIME TO SHOW FAVOR TO IT FOR IT HAS COME [THE] APPOINTED TIME 13You will rise up and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show her favor the appointed time has come.
14FOR THEY TAKE PLEASURE IN SERVANTS YOUR <OBJ.> STONES ITS AND <OBJ.> DUST ITS THEY SHOW FAVOR TO 14For Your servants delight in her stones and take pity on her dust.
15AND THEY MAY FEAR NATIONS <OBJ.> [THE] NAME OF YAHWEH AND ALL [THE] KINGS OF THE EARTH <OBJ.> GLORY YOUR 15So the nations will fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth will fear Your glory.
16FOR HE HAS BUILT YAHWEH ZION HE HAS APPEARED IN GLORY HIS 16For the LORD will rebuild Zion; He has appeared in His glory.
17HE HAS TURNED TO [THE] PRAYER OF THE DESTITUTE PERSON AND NOT HE HAS DESPISED <OBJ.> PRAYER THEIR 17He will turn toward the prayer of the destitute; He will not despise their prayer.
18LET IT BE WRITTEN THIS FOR A GENERATION LATER AND A PEOPLE [WHO WILL] BE CREATED IT WILL PRAISE YAHWEH 18Let this be written for the generation to come, so that a people not yet created may praise the LORD.
19FOR HE HAS LOOKED DOWN FROM [THE] HEIGHT OF HOLINESS HIS YAHWEH FROM HEAVEN TO EARTH HE HAS LOOKED 19For He looked down from the heights of His sanctuary; the LORD gazed out from heaven to earth
20TO HEAR [THE] GROANING OF PRISONER[S] TO SET FREE [THE] SONS OF DEATH 20to hear a prisoner’s groaning, to release those condemned to death,
21TO RECOUNT IN ZION [THE] NAME OF YAHWEH AND PRAISE HIS IN JERUSALEM 21that they may proclaim the name of the LORD in Zion and praise Him in Jerusalem,
22WHEN GATHER PEOPLES TOGETHER AND KINGDOMS TO SERVE <OBJ.> YAHWEH 22when peoples and kingdoms assemble to serve the LORD.
23HE HAS HUMBLED IN THE WAY STRENGTH MY HE HAS CUT SHORT DAYS MY 23He has broken my strength on the way; He has cut short my days.
24I SAID O GOD MY MAY NOT YOU LIFT UP ME IN [THE] MIDDLE OF DAYS MY [ARE] IN A GENERATION OF GENERATIONS YEARS YOUR 24I say: “O my God, do not take me in the midst of my days! Your years go on through all generations.
25<TO> BEFORE THE EARTH YOU FOUNDED AND [WERE] [THE] WORK OF HANDS YOUR [THE] HEAVENS 25In the beginning You laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands.
26THEY THEY WILL PERISH AND YOU YOU WILL ENDURE AND ALL OF THEM LIKE <THE> GARMENT THEY WILL WEAR OUT LIKE <THE> CLOTHING YOU WILL CHANGE THEM AND THEY MAY PASS AWAY 26They will perish, but You remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing You will change them, and they will be passed on.
