1GIVE EAR TO! O GOD PRAYER MY AND MAY NOT YOU HIDE YOURSELF FROM SUPPLICATION MY 1Listen to my prayer, O God, and do not ignore my plea.
2PAY ATTENTION! TO <THE> ME AND ANSWER ME I AM RESTLESS IN COMPLAINT MY AND I AM DISTRAUGHT 2Attend to me and answer me. I am restless in my complaint, and distraught
3FROM [THE] SOUND OF AN ENEMY <FROM> BECAUSE OF [THE] PRESSURE OF [THE] WICKED FOR THEY DROP ON ME WICKEDNESS AND IN ANGER THEY ARE HOSTILE TO ME 3at the voice of the enemy, at the pressure of the wicked. For they bring down disaster upon me and resent me in their anger.
4HEART MY IT TREMBLES <IN> WITHIN ME AND [THE] TERRORS OF DEATH THEY HAVE FALLEN ON ME 4My heart pounds within me, and the terrors of death assail me.
5FEAR AND TREMBLING IT COMES ON <THE> ME AND IT HAS COVERED ME SHUDDERING 5Fear and trembling grip me, and horror has overwhelmed me.

7HERE! I WANT TO BE FAR AWAY [SURELY] TO FLEE I WANT TO LODGE IN THE WILDERNESS SELAH 7How far away I would flee! In the wilderness I would remain. Selah
8I WANT TO MAKE HASTE A PLACE OF ESCAPE OF ME FROM A WIND RUSHING FROM A STORM 8I would hurry to my shelter, far from this raging tempest.”
9CONFUSE O LORD DIVIDE TONGUE THEIR FOR I HAVE SEEN VIOLENCE AND STRIFE IN THE CITY 9O Lord, confuse and confound their speech, for I see violence and strife in the city.
10BY DAY AND NIGHT THEY GO AROUND IT ON WALLS ITS AND WICKEDNESS AND TROUBLE [ARE] IN MIDST ITS 10Day and night they encircle the walls, while malice and trouble lie within.
11DESTRUCTION<S> [ARE] IN MIDST ITS AND NOT IT DEPARTS FROM PUBLIC SQUARE ITS OPPRESSION AND DECEIT 11Destruction is within; oppression and deceit never leave the streets.
12FOR NOT AN ENEMY HE TAUNTS ME AND I MAY ENDURE NOT [ONE WHO] HATES ME ON ME HE MAGNIFIED HIMSELF THEN I MAY HIDE MYSELF FROM HIM 12For it is not an enemy who insults me; that I could endure. It is not a foe who rises against me; from him I could hide.
13AND YOU A MAN ACCORDING TO VALUE MY CLOSE FRIEND MY AND ACQUAINTANCE MY 13But it is you, a man like myself, my companion and close friend.
14WHO TOGETHER WE MADE SWEET COUNSEL IN [THE] HOUSE OF GOD WE WALKED ABOUT IN A CROWD 14We shared sweet fellowship together; we walked with the crowd into the house of God.
15MAY IT DECEIVE DEATH ON THEM MAY THEY GO DOWN SHEOL ALIVE FOR EVIL DEEDS [ARE] IN SOJOURNING-PLACE THEIR IN INNER BEING THEIR 15Let death seize them by surprise; let them go down to Sheol alive, for evil is with them in their homes.
17EVENING AND MORNING AND NOON<S> I WILL COMPLAIN AND I MAY MURMUR AND HE HEARD VOICE MY 17Morning, noon, and night, I cry out in distress, and He hears my voice.
18HE WILL RANSOM IN PEACE LIFE MY FROM BATTLE TO <THE> ME FOR <IN> MANY [PEOPLE] THEY ARE WITH ME 18He redeems my soul in peace from the battle waged against me, even though many oppose me.
19HE WILL HEAR GOD AND HE WILL ANSWER THEM AND [THE ONE WHO] SITS ANTIQUITY SELAH WHOM NOT CHANGES [BELONG] TO <THE> THEM AND NOT THEY FEAR GOD 19God will hear and humiliate them— the One enthroned for the ages— Selah because they do not change and they have no fear of God.
20HE STRETCHED OUT HANDS HIS ON ALLIES HIS HE VIOLATED COVENANT HIS 20My companion attacks his friends; he violates his covenant.
21THEY WERE SMOOTH [THE] CREAMY THINGS OF MOUTH HIS AND [WAS] WAR HEART HIS THEY WERE SOFT WORDS HIS MORE THAN OIL AND THEY [WERE] DRAWN SWORDS 21His speech is smooth as butter, but war is in his heart. His words are softer than oil, yet they are swords unsheathed.
22CAST ON YAHWEH BURDEN YOUR AND HE HE WILL SUSTAIN YOU NOT HE WILL PERMIT FOR EVER TO SHAKE TO THE RIGHTEOUS 22Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.
23AND YOU O GOD YOU WILL BRING DOWN THEM TO [THE] PIT OF [THE] PIT PEOPLE OF BLOOD<S> AND DECEIT NOT THEY WILL DIVIDE IN HALF DAYS THEIR AND I I WILL TRUST IN <THE> YOU 23But You, O God, will bring them down to the Pit of destruction; men of bloodshed and deceit will not live out half their days. But I will trust in You.
