I KNOW THE WORKS OF YOU AND THE LABOR OF YOU AND THE ENDURANCE OF YOU AND THAT NOT YOU ARE ABLE TO TOLERATE EVIL [ONES] AND YOU HAVE TESTED THOSE SAYING THEMSELVES TO BE APOSTLES AND NOT ARE, AND YOU HAVE FOUND THEM FALSE. 2I know your deeds, your labor, and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate those who are evil, and you have tested and exposed as liars those who falsely claim to be apostles.
AND PERSEVERANCE YOU HAVE AND ENDURED AND FOR THE SAKE OF THE NAME OF ME HAVE LABOURED AND NOT HAVE GROWN WEARY. 3Without growing weary, you have persevered and endured many things for the sake of My name.
BUT I HAVE AGAINST YOU THAT THE LOVE OF YOU <THE> FIRST YOU HAVE ABANDONED. 4But I have this against you: You have abandoned your first love.
DO REMEMBER THEREFORE FROM WHERE YOU HAVE FALLEN, AND DO REPENT AND THE FIRST WORKS DO PERFORM; LEST THEN EXCEPT, I AM COMING TO YOU [WITH] SPEED AND I WILL REMOVE THE LAMPSTAND OF YOU OUT OF THE PLACE OF IT, ONLY UNLESS YOU SHALL REPENT. 5Therefore, keep in mind how far you have fallen. Repent and perform the deeds you did at first. But if you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.
BUT THIS YOU HAVE THAT YOU HATE THE WORKS OF THE NICOLAITANS WHICH I MYSELF ALSO HATE. 6But you have this to your credit: You hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
THE [ONE] HAVING AN EAR HE SHOULD HEAR WHAT THE SPIRIT SAYS TO THE CHURCHES; TO THE [ONE] OVERCOMING I WILL GIVE TO HIM TO EAT OF THE TREE <THE> OF LIFE WHICH IS IN MIDST THE PARADISE <THE> OF GOD OF MINE. 7He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who overcomes, I will grant the right to eat from the tree of life in the Paradise of God.
AND TO THE ANGEL OF THE IN SMYRNA CHURCH DO WRITE: THESE THINGS SAYS THE FIRST AND THE LAST, WHO BECAME DEAD AND CAME TO LIFE; To the Church in Smyrna 8To the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These are the words of the First and the Last, who died and returned to life.
I KNOW YOUR <THE> WORKS AND <THE> TRIBULATION AND <THE> POVERTY — BUT RICH NOW YOU ARE — AND THE SLANDER FROM THOSE CLAIMING JEWS TO BE THEMSELVES AND NOT ARE, BUT A SYNAGOGUE <THE> OF SATAN. 9I know your affliction and your poverty— though you are rich! And I am aware of the slander of those who falsely claim to be Jews, but are in fact a synagogue of Satan.
NOTHING DO FEAR WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO SUFFER; BEHOLD INDEED IS ABOUT TO CAST THE DEVIL [SOME] OF YOU INTO PRISON SO THAT YOU MAY BE TESTED, AND YOU WILL HAVE TRIBULATION FOR DAYS TEN. DO BE FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH, AND I WILL GIVE TO YOU THE CROWN <THE> OF LIFE. 10Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison to test you, and you will suffer tribulation for ten days. Be faithful even unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.
THE [ONE] HAVING AN EAR HE SHOULD HEAR WHAT THE SPIRIT SAYS TO THE CHURCHES; THE [ONE] OVERCOMING CERTAINLY NOT MAY BE INJURED BY THE DEATH <THE> SECOND. 11He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who overcomes will not be harmed by the second death.
AND TO THE ANGEL OF THE IN PERGAMUM CHURCH DO WRITE: THESE THINGS SAYS THE [ONE] HAVING THE SWORD <THE> TWO-EDGED <THE> SHARP; To the Church in Pergamum 12To the angel of the church in Pergamum write: These are the words of the One who holds the sharp, double-edged sword.
I KNOW THE WORKS OF YOU AND WHERE YOU DWELL, WHERE THE THRONE <THE> OF SATAN [IS], AND YOU HOLD FAST TO THE NAME OF ME AND NOT YOU HAVE DENIED THE FAITH OF MINE EVEN IN THE DAYS IN WHICH OF ANTIPAS THE WITNESS OF MINE THE FAITHFUL [ONE] OF MINE WHO WAS KILLED AMONG YOU WHERE <THE> SATAN DWELLS. 13I know where you live, where the throne of Satan sits, yet you hold fast to My name. You did not deny your faith in Me, even in the days of My faithful witness Antipas, who was killed among you where Satan dwells.
BUT I HAVE AGAINST YOU A FEW THINGS BECAUSE YOU HAVE [SOME] THERE HOLDING THE TEACHING OF BALAAM, WHO WAS TEACHING IN <THE> BALAK TO CAST A SNARE BEFORE THE SONS OF ISRAEL AND TO EAT IDOL-SACRIFICES AND TO COMMIT SEXUAL IMMORALITY. 14But I have a few things against you, because some of you hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to place a stumbling block before the Israelites so they would eat food sacrificed to idols and commit sexual immorality.
SO HAVE ALSO YOU YOURSELF [SOME] HOLDING THE TEACHING OF THE NICOLAITANS LIKEWISE. 15In the same way, some of you also hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans.
DO REPENT THEREFORE! LEST THEN EXCEPT I AM COMING TO YOU QUICKLY AND I WILL MAKE WAR AGAINST THEM WITH THE SWORD OF THE MOUTH OF MINE. 16Therefore repent! Otherwise I will come to you shortly and wage war against them with the sword of My mouth.
THE [ONE] HAVING AN EAR HE SHOULD HEAR WHAT THE SPIRIT SAYS TO THE CHURCHES; TO THE [ONE] OVERCOMING I WILL GIVE TO HIM TO EAT FROM THE MANNA WHICH HIDDEN AND I WILL GIVE TO HIM STONE WHITE, AND ON THE STONE A NAME NEW WRITTEN WHICH NO [ONE] KNOWS ONLY EXCEPT THE [ONE] RECEIVING [IT]. 17He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. 18AND TO THE ANGEL OF THE IN THYATIRA CHURCH DO WRITE: THESE THINGS SAYS THE SON <THE> OF GOD, THE [ONE] HAVING THE EYES OF HIM LIKE A FLAME OF FIRE AND THE FEET OF HIM LIKE AS BURNISHED BRONZE; To the Church in Thyatira (Acts 16:11–15) 18To the angel of the church in Thyatira write: These are the words of the Son of God, whose eyes are like a blazing fire and whose feet are like polished bronze.
I KNOW YOUR <THE> WORKS AND <THE> LOVE AND <THE> FAITH AND <THE> SERVICE AND THE PERSEVERANCE OF YOU AND THE WORKS OF YOU AND THE LATTER [ARE] GREATER THAN THE FIRST. 19I know your deeds— your love, your faith, your service, your perseverance— and your latest deeds are greater than your first.
BUT I HAVE AGAINST YOU FEW THINGS THAT YOU PERMIT THE WOMAN OF YOU JEZEBEL, THE [ONE] CALLING HERSELF A PROPHETESS AND SHE TEACHES AND SHE MISLEADS <THE> MY SERVANTS TO COMMIT SEXUAL IMMORALITY AND TO EAT IDOL-SACRIFICES. 20But I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. By her teaching she misleads My servants to be sexually immoral and to eat food sacrificed to idols.
AND I HAVE GIVEN TO HER TIME THAT SHE MAY REPENT AND NOT SHE IS WILLING TO REPENT OF THE SEXUAL IMMORALITY OF HER. 21Even though I have given her time to repent of her immorality, she is unwilling.
BEHOLD I MYSELF I CAST HER INTO A SICKBED AND THOSE COMMITTING ADULTERY WITH HER INTO TRIBULATION GREAT, ONLY UNLESS THEY SHALL REPENT OF THE DEEDS OF HER. 22Behold, I will cast her onto a bed of sickness, and those who commit adultery with her will suffer great tribulation unless they repent of her deeds.
AND THE CHILDREN OF HER I WILL KILL WITH DEATH, AND WILL KNOW ALL THE CHURCHES THAT I MYSELF AM THE [ONE] SEARCHING AFFECTIONS AND HEARTS, AND I WILL GIVE OF YOU TO EACH ACCORDING TO THE WORKS OF YOU. 23Then I will strike her children dead, and all the churches will know that I am the One who searches minds and hearts, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.
TO YOU HOWEVER I SAY TO THE REST OF THOSE IN THYATIRA, AS MANY AS NOT HAVE <THE> TEACHING THIS, AND WHO NOT HAVE KNOWN THE DEEPS <THE> OF SATAN AS THEY SAY: NOT I DO CAST UPON YOU ANY OTHER BURDEN, 24But I say to the rest of you in Thyatira, who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned the so-called deep things of Satan: I will place no further burden upon you
BUT TO WHAT YOU HAVE DO HOLD FAST UNTIL WHICH [TIME] MAYBE I MAY COME. 25than to hold fast to what you have until I come.
AND THE [ONE] OVERCOMING AND WHO IS KEEPING UNTIL [THE] END THE WORKS OF MINE, I WILL GIVE TO HIM AUTHORITY OVER THE NATIONS; 26And to the one who overcomes and continues in My work until the end, I will give authority over the nations.
AND HE WILL SHEPHERD THEM WITH A ROD OF IRON, AS THE VESSELS [OF] THE POTTER ARE BROKEN IN PIECES 27He will rule them with an iron scepter and shatter them like pottery*NoteClosePsalm 2:9 (see also LXX) — just as I have received authority from My Father.
JUST AS I MYSELF ALSO HAVE RECEIVED FROM THE FATHER OF MINE. [28] AND I WILL GIVE TO HIM THE STAR <THE> MORNING. 28And I will give him the morning star.
