THE [PEOPLE] AT EASE IN ZION AND THOSE [WHO] TRUST IN [THE] MOUNTAIN OF SAMARIA [THE] DISTINGUISHED [PEOPLE] OF [THE] FIRST OF THE NATIONS AND THEY WILL COME TO THEM [THE] HOUSE OF ISRAEL Woe to Those at Ease in Zion (Luke 6:24–26) 1Woe to those at ease in Zion and those secure on Mount Samaria, the distinguished ones of the foremost nation, to whom the house of Israel comes.

GREAT [IS] TERRITORY THEIR MORE THAN TERRITORY YOUR 2Cross over to Calneh and see; go from there to the great Hamath; then go down to Gath of the Philistines. Are you better than these kingdoms? Is their territory larger than yours?
3THOSE [WHO] PUSH AWAY <TO> A DAY EVIL AND YOU HAVE BROUGHT NEAR! A SEAT OF VIOLENCE 3You dismiss the day of calamity and bring near a reign of violence.
4THOSE [WHO] LIE ON BEDS OF IVORY AND [PEOPLE] SPRAWLED OUT ON COUCHES THEIR AND [THOSE WHO] EAT LAMBS FROM [THE] FLOCK AND CALVES FROM [THE] MIDST OF [THE] STALL 4You lie on beds inlaid with ivory, and lounge upon your couches. You dine on lambs from the flock and calves from the stall.
5THOSE [WHO] IMPROVISE ON [THE] MOUTH OF THE LYRE LIKE DAVID THEY HAVE DEVISED FOR THEMSELVES INSTRUMENTS OF SONG 5You improvise songs on the harp like David and invent your own musical instruments.
6THOSE [WHO] DRINK IN BOWLS OF WINE AND [THE] BEST OF OILS THEY SMEAR AND NOT THEY WERE SICKENED ON [THE] RUIN OF JOSEPH 6You drink wine by the bowlful and anoint yourselves with the finest oils, but you fail to grieve over the ruin of Joseph.
7<TO> THEREFORE NOW THEY WILL GO INTO EXILE AT [THE] HEAD OF [THOSE WHO] GO INTO EXILE AND IT WILL COME TO AN END [THE] REVELRY OF SPRAWLED OUT [PEOPLE] 7Therefore, you will now go into exile as the first of the captives, and your feasting and lounging will come to an end.
8HE HAS SWORN [THE] LORD YAHWEH BY SELF HIS [THE] UTTERANCE OF YAHWEH GOD OF HOSTS [AM] LOATHING I <OBJ.> [THE] PRIDE OF JACOB AND FORTRESSES HIS I HATE AND I WILL DELIVER UP [THE] CITY AND WHAT FILLS IT The Pride of Israel 8The Lord GOD has sworn by Himself— the LORD, the God of Hosts, has declared: “I abhor Jacob’s pride and detest his citadels, so I will deliver up the city and everything in it.”
9AND IT WILL BE IF THEY WILL REMAIN TEN MEN IN A HOUSE ONE AND THEY WILL DIE 9And if there are ten men left in one house, they too will die.
10AND HE WILL LIFT UP HIM LOVED ONE HIS AND [THE ONE WHO] BURNS HIM TO BRING OUT BONES FROM THE HOUSE AND HE WILL SAY TO [THE ONE] WHO [IS] IN [THE] INNERMOST PARTS OF THE HOUSE ¿ STILL [IS ANYONE] WITH YOU AND HE WILL SAY NO AND HE WILL SAY HUSH! FOR NOT TO BRING TO REMEMBRANCE <IN> [THE] NAME OF YAHWEH 10And when the relative who is to burn the bodies*NoteCloseOr to make a funeral fire to honor the dead picks them up to remove them from the house, he will call to one inside “Is anyone else with you?” “None,” that person will answer. “Silence,” the relative will retort, “for the name of the LORD must not be invoked.”
11FOR HERE! YAHWEH [IS] COMMANDING AND SOMEONE WILL STRIKE THE HOUSE <THE> GREAT FRAGMENTS AND THE HOUSE <THE> SMALL RUBBLE<S> 11For the LORD gives a command: “The great house will be smashed to pieces, and the small house to rubble.”
12¿ DO THEY RUN! ON THE CRAG[S] HORSES OR? DOES ANYONE PLOW WITH <THE> OXEN FOR YOU HAVE TURNED INTO POISON JUSTICE AND [THE] FRUIT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS INTO WORMWOOD 12“Do horses gallop on the cliffs? 14FOR HERE I [AM] ABOUT TO RAISE UP ON YOU O HOUSE OF ISRAEL [THE] UTTERANCE OF YAHWEH [THE] GOD OF <THE> HOSTS A NATION AND THEY WILL OPPRESS <OBJ.> YOU FROM LEBO HAMATH TO [THE] WADI OF <THE> ARABAH 14For behold, I will raise up a nation against you, O house of Israel,” declares the LORD, the God of Hosts, “and they will oppress you from Lebo-hamath to the Brook of the Arabah.”
