23WHICH ARE AN APPEARANCE INDEED HAVING OF WISDOM WITH SELF-IMPOSED WORSHIP AND WITH HUMILITY AND WITH HARSH TREATMENT OF [THE] BODY, NOT OF HONOR A CERTAIN AGAINST [THE] INDULGENCE OF THE FLESH. 23Such restrictions indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-prescribed worship, their false humility, and their harsh treatment of the body; but they are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh.
1IF THEN YOU HAVE BEEN RAISED WITH <THE> CHRIST, THE [THINGS] ABOVE DO SEEK, WHERE <THE> CHRIST IS AT [THE] RIGHT HAND <THE> OF GOD SITTING; Put On the New Self (Ephesians 4:17–32) 1Therefore, since you have been raised with Christ, strive for the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
2THE [THINGS] ABOVE DO SET [YOUR] MINDS ON NOT THE [THINGS] ON THE EARTH. 2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
3YOU HAVE DIED FOR AND THE LIFE OF YOU HAS BEEN HIDDEN WITH <THE> CHRIST IN <THE> GOD; 3For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

5DO PUT TO DEATH THEREFORE THE MEMBERS OF YOU WHICH [ARE] UPON THE EARTH: SEXUAL IMMORALITY, IMPURITY, PASSION, DESIRE EVIL AND <THE> COVETOUSNESS WHICH IS IDOLATRY, 5Put to death, therefore, the components of your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, and greed, which is idolatry.
6BECAUSE OF WHICH THINGS IS COMING THE WRATH <THE> OF GOD ON THE SONS <THE> OF DISOBEDIENCE; 6Because of these, the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience.*NoteCloseNE, WH, and Tischendorf do not include on the sons of disobedience.
7IN WHICH ALSO YOU YOURSELVES WALKED ONCE WHEN YOU WERE LIVING IN THEM. 7When you lived among them, you also used to walk in these ways.
8NOW HOWEVER DO PUT OFF ALSO YOU YOURSELVES <THE> ALL [THESE] THINGS: ANGER, RAGE, MALICE, SLANDER, FOUL LANGUAGE OUT OF THE MOUTH OF YOU. 8But now you must put aside all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.
9NOT DO LIE TO ONE ANOTHER HAVING PUT OFF THE OLD MAN WITH THE PRACTICES OF HIM 9Do not lie to one another, since you have taken off the old self with its practices,
10AND HAVING PUT ON THE NEW, WHICH IS BEING RENEWED IN KNOWLEDGE ACCORDING TO [THE] IMAGE OF THE [ONE WHO] HAVING CREATED HIM; 10and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.
11WHERE NOT THERE IS GREEK AND JEW, CIRCUMCISION AND UNCIRCUMCISION, BARBARIAN, SCYTHIAN, SLAVE, FREE, BUT <THE> ALL AND IN ALL CHRIST [IS]. 11Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, or free, but Christ is all and is in all.
12DO PUT ON THEREFORE, AS [THE] ELECT <THE> OF GOD HOLY AND BELOVED, HEARTS OF COMPASSION, KINDNESS, HUMILITY, GENTLENESS, [AND] PATIENCE; 12Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with hearts of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
13BEARING WITH EACH OTHER AND FORGIVING EACH OTHER IF ANYONE AGAINST ANOTHER SHALL HAVE A COMPLAINT; EVEN AS ALSO THE LORD HAS FORGIVEN YOU, SO ALSO YOU; 13Bear with one another and forgive any complaint you may have against someone else. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
14BEYOND ALL NOW THESE [PUT ON] THE LOVE, WHICH IS [THE] BOND <THE> OF PERFECT UNITY. 14And over all these virtues put on love, which is the bond of perfect unity.
15AND THE PEACE <THE> FROM CHRIST SHOULD RULE IN THE HEARTS OF YOU, TO WHICH ALSO YOU WERE CALLED IN ONE BODY; AND THANKFUL DO BE. 15Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, for to this you were called as members of one body. And be thankful.
16THE WORD <THE> OF CHRIST SHOULD DWELL IN YOU RICHLY, IN ALL WISDOM TEACHING AND ADMONISHING YOURSELVES IN PSALMS, AND IN HYMNS, AND IN SONGS SPIRITUAL WITH <THE> GRACE SINGING IN THE HEARTS OF YOU <THE> TO GOD; 16Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.
17AND EVERYTHING WHICH WHAT MAYBE YOU SHALL DO IN WORD OR IN DEED, ALL IN [THE] NAME OF [THE] LORD JESUS GIVING THANKS <THE> TO GOD AND [THE] FATHER THROUGH HIM. 17And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
18YOU WHO [ARE] WIVES, DO BE SUBMITTED <THE> TO [YOUR] OWN HUSBANDS AS WAS FITTING IN [THE] LORD. Christian Households (Ephesians 6:1–4) 18Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
19YOU WHO [ARE] HUSBANDS, DO LOVE THE WIVES AND NOT DO BE HARSH TOWARD THEM. 19Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.
20YOU WHO [ARE] CHILDREN, DO OBEY THE PARENTS IN ALL THINGS; THIS FOR PLEASING IS IN LORD. 20Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing to the Lord.
21YOU WHO [ARE] FATHERS, NOT DO PROVOKE THE CHILDREN OF YOU, THAT NOT THEY MAY BECOME DISCOURAGED. 21Fathers, do not provoke your children, so they will not become discouraged.
22YOU WHO [ARE] SLAVES, DO OBEY IN ALL THINGS THE ACCORDING TO FLESH MASTERS, NOT WITH EYE-SERVICE AS MEN-PLEASERS BUT IN SINCERITY OF HEART FEARING THE LORD. Serving with Honor (Ephesians 6:5–9; 1 Timothy 6:1–2) 22Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything, not only to please them while they are watching, but with sincerity of heart and fear of the Lord.
23AND EVERYTHING THAT ANY [OF] MAYBE YOU SHALL DO, FROM [THE] SOUL DO WORK AS TO THE LORD AND NOT TO MEN; 23Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, as for the Lord and not for men,
24KNOWING THAT FROM [THE] LORD YOU WILL RECEIVE THE REWARD OF THE INHERITANCE; THE FOR LORD CHRIST YOU SERVE. 24because you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as your reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
25THE [ONE] FOR DOING WRONG HE WILL BE REPAID [FOR] WHAT HE HAS DONE WRONG AND NOT THERE IS PARTIALITY. 25Whoever does wrong will be repaid for his wrong, and there is no favoritism.
