22AND HE DID NOAH ACCORDING TO ALL THAT HE COMMANDED <OBJ.> HIM GOD SO HE DID 22So Noah did everything precisely as God had commanded him.
1AND HE SAID YAHWEH TO NOAH GO YOU AND ALL HOUSEHOLD YOUR INTO THE ARK FOR <OBJ.> YOU I HAVE SEEN RIGHTEOUS <TO> BEFORE ME IN THE GENERATION <THE> THIS The Great Flood (2 Peter 3:1–7) 1Then the LORD said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and all your family, because I have found you righteous in this generation.
2OF ALL THE LIVESTOCK <THE> CLEAN YOU WILL TAKE FOR <THE> YOURSELF SEVEN SEVEN A MALE AND FEMALE ITS AND OF THE ANIMAL[S] WHICH NOT [IS] CLEAN IT TWO A MALE AND FEMALE ITS 2You are to take with you seven pairs of*NoteCloseOr by sevens; also in verse 3 every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate; a pair of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate;
3ALSO OF [THE] BIRD[S] OF THE HEAVENS SEVEN SEVEN MALE AND FEMALE TO PRESERVE ALIVE OFFSPRING ON [THE] SURFACE OF ALL THE EARTH 3and seven pairs of every kind of bird of the air, male and female, to preserve their offspring on the face of all the earth.
4FOR TO DAYS YET SEVEN I [AM] ABOUT TO BRING RAIN ON THE EARTH FORTY DAY[S] AND FORTY NIGHT[S] AND I WILL WIPE <OBJ.> ALL THE EXISTENCE WHICH I HAVE MADE FROM ON [THE] SURFACE OF THE GROUND 4For seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living thing I have made.”
5AND HE DID NOAH ACCORDING TO ALL THAT HE COMMANDED HIM YAHWEH 5And Noah did all that the LORD had commanded him.
6AND NOAH [WAS] A SON OF SIX HUNDRED<S> YEAR[S] AND THE FLOOD <IT> WAS WATER ON THE EARTH 6Now Noah was 600 years old when the floodwaters came upon the earth.
7AND HE WENT NOAH AND SONS HIS AND WIFE HIS AND [THE] WIVES OF SONS HIS WITH HIM INTO THE ARK <FROM> BECAUSE OF [THE] WATERS OF THE FLOOD 7And Noah and his wife, with his sons and their wives, entered the ark to escape the waters of the flood.
8OF THE ANIMAL[S] <THE> CLEAN AND OF THE ANIMAL[S] WHICH NOT [WAS] IT CLEAN AND OF THE BIRD[S] AND ALL THAT [WAS] CREEPING ON THE GROUND 8The clean and unclean animals, the birds, and everything that crawls along the ground
9TWO TWO THEY CAME TO NOAH INTO THE ARK MALE AND FEMALE JUST AS HE HAD COMMANDED GOD <OBJ.> NOAH 9came to Noah to enter the ark, two by two, male and female, as God had commanded Noah.
10AND IT WAS TO [THE] SEVEN THE DAYS AND [THE] WATERS OF THE FLOOD THEY WERE ON THE EARTH 10And after seven days the floodwaters came upon the earth.
11IN YEAR SIX HUNDRED<S> YEAR OF [THE] LIFE OF NOAH IN THE MONTH <THE> SECOND ON [THE] SEVEN- TEEN DAY OF THE MONTH ON THE DAY <THE> THIS THEY WERE SPLIT OPEN ALL [THE] SPRINGS OF [THE] DEEP GREAT AND [THE] FLOODGATES OF THE HEAVENS THEY WERE OPENED 11In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month, all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.
12AND IT WAS THE RAIN ON THE EARTH FORTY DAY[S] AND FORTY NIGHT[S] 12And the rain fell upon the earth for forty days and forty nights.
13ON [THE] SUBSTANCE OF THE DAY <THE> THIS HE WENT NOAH AND SHEM AND HAM AND JAPHETH [THE] SONS OF NOAH AND [THE] WIFE OF NOAH AND [THE] THREE [THE] WIVES OF SONS HIS WITH THEM INTO THE ARK 13On that very day Noah entered the ark, along with his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and his wife, and the three wives of his sons
14THEY AND EVERY <THE> ANIMAL TO KIND ITS AND ALL THE LIVESTOCK TO KIND ITS AND EVERY <THE> CREEPING THING WHICH CREEPS ON THE EARTH TO KIND ITS AND EVERY <THE> BIRD TO KIND ITS EVERY BIRD EVERY WING 14they and every kind of wild animal, livestock crawling creature bird, and winged creature.
15AND THEY CAME TO NOAH INTO THE ARK TWO TWO OF ALL <THE> FLESH WHICH [WAS] IN <THE> IT [THE] BREATH OF LIFE 15They came to Noah to enter the ark, two by two of every creature*NoteCloseLiterally of all flesh; similarly in verses 16 and 21 with the breath of life.
16AND THOSE [WHICH] CAME MALE AND FEMALE OF ALL FLESH THEY CAME JUST AS HE HAD COMMANDED <OBJ.> HIM GOD AND HE CLOSED YAHWEH BEHIND HIM 16And they entered, the male and female of every living thing, as God had commanded Noah. Then the LORD shut him in.
17AND IT WAS THE FLOOD FORTY DAY[S] ON THE EARTH AND THEY INCREASED THE WATERS AND THEY LIFTED <OBJ.> THE ARK AND IT ROSE FROM ON THE EARTH 17For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and the waters rose and lifted the ark high above the earth.
18AND THEY INCREASED THE WATERS AND THEY INCREASED EXCEEDINGLY ON THE EARTH AND IT WENT THE ARK ON [THE] SURFACE OF THE WATERS 18So the waters continued to surge and rise greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the waters.
19AND THE WATERS THEY INCREASED EXCEEDINGLY EXCEEDINGLY ON THE EARTH AND THEY WERE COVERED ALL THE MOUNTAINS <THE> HIGH WHICH [WERE] UNDER ALL THE HEAVENS 19Finally, the waters completely prevailed upon the earth, so that all the high mountains under all the heavens were covered.
20FIF- TEEN CUBIT[S] FROM TO ABOVE <TOWARDS> THEY INCREASED THE WATERS AND THEY WERE COVERED THE MOUNTAINS 20The waters rose and covered the mountaintops to a depth of fifteen cubits.*NoteClose15 cubits is approximately 22.5 feet or 6.9 meters.
21AND IT DIED ALL FLESH WHICH CREPT ON THE EARTH AMONG THE BIRD[S] AND AMONG THE LIVESTOCK AND AMONG THE ANIMAL[S] AND AMONG EVERY <THE> SWARMING THING WHICH SWARMS ON THE EARTH AND EVERY <THE> HUMAN 21And every living thing that moved upon the earth perished— birds, livestock, animals, every creature that swarms upon the earth, and all mankind.
22ALL THAT [THE] BREATH OF [THE] BREATH OF LIFE [WAS] IN NOSTRILS ITS FROM ALL THAT [WAS] ON THE DRY GROUND THEY DIED 22Of all that was on dry land, everything that had the breath of life in its nostrils died.
23AND HE WIPED OUT <OBJ.> ALL THE EXISTENCE WHICH [WAS] ON [THE] SURFACE OF THE GROUND FROM HUMANKIND UNTO ANIMAL[S] UNTO CREEPING THING[S] AND UNTO [THE] BIRD[S] OF THE HEAVENS AND THEY WERE WIPED OUT FROM THE EARTH AND HE WAS LEFT ONLY NOAH AND WHICH [WERE] WITH HIM IN THE ARK 23And every living thing on the face of the earth was destroyed man and livestock, crawling creatures and birds of the air; they were blotted out from the earth, and only Noah and those with him in the ark remained.
24AND THEY INCREASED THE WATERS ON THE EARTH FIFTY AND ONE HUNDRED DAY[S] 24And the waters prevailed upon the earth for 150 days.
