21FOR THERE! YAHWEH [IS] ABOUT TO GO FORTH FROM PLACE HIS TO VISIT [THE] INIQUITY OF [THE] INHABITANT[S] OF THE EARTH ON HIM AND IT WILL REVEAL THE EARTH <OBJ.> BLOOD<S> ITS AND NOT IT WILL COVER STILL OVER SLAIN [ONES] ITS 21For behold, the LORD is coming out of His dwelling to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity. The earth will reveal her bloodshed and will no longer conceal her slain.
1IN THE DAY <THE> THAT HE WILL VISIT [JUDGMENT] YAHWEH WITH SWORD HIS <THE> FIERCE AND <THE> GREAT AND <THE> MIGHTY ON LEVIATHAN A SNAKE FLEEING AND ON LEVIATHAN A SNAKE TWISTING AND HE WILL SLAY <OBJ.> THE SEA MONSTER WHICH [IS] IN THE SEA The LORD’s Vineyard (John 15:1–8) 1In that day the LORD will take His sharp, great, and mighty sword, and bring judgment on Leviathan the fleeing serpent*NoteCloseHebrew nachash; translated in most cases as snake; twice in this verse — Leviathan the coiling serpent— and He will slay the dragon of the sea.
2IN THE DAY <THE> THAT A VINEYARD OF DELIGHT SING OF IT 2In that day: “Sing about a fruitful vineyard.
3I YAHWEH [AM] KEEPER ITS TO MOMENTS I WATER IT LEST SOMEONE SHOULD INJURE <ON> IT NIGHT AND DAY I GUARD IT 3I, the LORD, am its keeper; I water it continually. I guard it night and day so no one can disturb it;
4RAGE NOT [BELONGS] TO ME WHO? WILL HE GIVE ME THORN[S] BUSH[ES] IN <THE> BATTLE I WILL MARCH AGAINST IT I WILL BURN IT ALTOGETHER 4I am not angry. If only thorns and briers confronted Me, I would march and trample them I would burn them to the ground.
5OR LET ANYONE TAKE HOLD ON PROTECTION MY LET ANYONE MAKE PEACE TO ME PEACE LET ANYONE MAKE TO ME 5Or let them lay claim to My protection; let them make peace with Me— yes, let them make peace with Me.”
6THE COMING [TIMES] IT WILL TAKE ROOT JACOB IT WILL BLOSSOM AND IT WILL BUD ISRAEL AND THEY WILL FILL [THE] SURFACE OF [THE] WORLD FRUIT 6In the days to come, Jacob will take root. Israel will bud and blossom and fill the whole world with fruit.
7¿ LIKE [THE] STRIKING? OF [THE] [ONE WHO] STRUCK IT HAS HE STRUCK IT OR? LIKE [THE] SLAUGHTER OF SLAIN [ONES] ITS HAS IT BEEN SLAIN 7Has the LORD struck Israel as He struck her oppressors? Was she killed like those who slayed her?
8BY STARTLING BY SENDING AWAY IT YOU WILL CONDUCT A CASE WITH IT HE DROVE OUT BY WIND HIS <THE> FIERCE IN [THE] DAY OF [THE] EAST WIND 8By warfare and exile*NoteCloseOr By driving her away into exile or Measure by measure, by exile You contended with her and removed her with a fierce wind, as on the day the east wind blows.
9<TO> THEREFORE BY THIS IT WILL BE ATONED FOR [THE] INIQUITY OF JACOB AND THIS [IS] ALL [THE] FRUIT OF [THE] REMOVING OF SIN ITS WHEN MAKES HE ALL [THE] STONES OF [THE] ALTAR LIKE STONES OF CHALK PULVERIZED NOT THEY WILL STAND ASHERAH POLES AND INCENSE ALTARS 9Therefore Jacob’s guilt will be atoned for, and the full fruit of the removal of his sin will be this:*NoteCloseLXX Therefore the guilt of Jacob will be taken away, and this is his blessing when I take away his sin; cited in Romans 11:27 When he makes all the altar stones like crushed bits of chalk, no Asherah poles or incense altars will remain standing.
10FOR A CITY FORTIFIED [IS] ALONE A HABITATION [IS] DESERTED AND FORSAKEN LIKE THE WILDERNESS THERE IT WILL GRAZE A CALF AND THERE IT WILL LIE DOWN AND IT WILL BRING TO AN END BRANCHES ITS 10For the fortified city lies deserted— a homestead abandoned, a wilderness forsaken. There the calves graze, and there they lie down; they strip its branches bare.
11WHEN DRY UP BRANCH[ES] ITS THEY ARE BROKEN OFF WOMEN [ARE] COMING [ARE] SETTING LIGHT TO <OBJ.> IT FOR NOT [IS] A PEOPLE OF UNDERSTANDING<S> IT THERE- -FORE NOT HE WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON IT [THE] [ONE WHO] MADE IT AND [THE] [ONE WHO] FORMED IT NOT HE WILL SHOW FAVOR TO IT 11When its limbs are dry, they are broken off. Women come and use them for kindling; for this is a people without understanding. Therefore their Maker has no compassion on them, and their Creator shows them no favor.
12AND IT WILL BE IN THE DAY <THE> THAT HE WILL BEAT OUT YAHWEH FROM [THE] FLOWING STREAM OF THE RIVER TO [THE] WADI OF EGYPT AND YOU YOU WILL BE GATHERED TO ONE ONE O PEOPLE OF ISRAEL 12In that day the LORD will thresh from the flowing Euphrates*NoteCloseHebrew River to the Wadi of Egypt, and you, O Israelites, will be gathered one by one.
13AND IT WILL BE IN THE DAY <THE> THAT IT WILL BE BLOWN ON A TRUMPET GREAT AND THEY WILL COME THOSE [WHO] WERE LOST IN [THE] LAND OF ASSYRIA AND THE OUTCASTS IN [THE] LAND OF EGYPT AND THEY WILL BOW DOWN TO YAHWEH ON [THE] MOUNTAIN OF <THE> HOLINESS IN JERUSALEM 13And in that day a great ram’s horn will sound, and those who were perishing in Assyria will come forth with those who were exiles in Egypt. And they will worship the LORD on the holy mountain in Jerusalem.
