2OPEN [THE] GATES SO IT MAY ENTER A NATION RIGHTEOUS [WHICH] KEEPS FAITHFULNESS<ES> 2Open the gates so a righteous nation may enter— one that remains faithful.
3AN INCLINATION FIRM YOU WILL KEEP PEACE PEACE FOR IN YOU [HE IS] TRUSTING 3You will keep in perfect peace the steadfast of mind, because he trusts in You.
4TRUST IN YAHWEH UNTIL PERPETUITY FOR [IS] <IN> YAHWEH YAHWEH A ROCK OF EVERLASTINGNESS<ES> 4Trust in the LORD forever, because GOD the LORD is the Rock eternal.
5FOR HE WILL LAY LOW [THE] INHABITANTS OF A HIGH PLACE A TOWN SET ON HIGH HE WILL BRING LOW IT HE WILL BRING LOW IT TO [THE] GROUND HE WILL MAKE TOUCH IT TO [THE] DUST 5For He has humbled those who dwell on high; He lays the lofty city low. He brings it down to the ground; He casts it into the dust.
6IT WILL TRAMPLE IT A FOOT [THE] FEET OF [THE] AFFLICTED [THE] FOOTSTEPS OF POOR [PEOPLE] 6Feet trample it down— the feet of the oppressed, the steps of the poor.
7[THE] WAY OF THE RIGHTEOUS [IS] LEVEL PATHS O UPRIGHT [ONE] [THE] TRACK OF [THE] RIGHTEOUS YOU MAKE LEVEL 7The path of the righteous is level; You clear a straight path for the upright.
8ALSO [THE] WAY OF JUDGMENTS YOUR O YAHWEH WE HAVE WAITED FOR YOU [IS] FOR NAME YOUR AND FOR MEMORY YOUR [THE] DESIRE OF SELF 8Yes, we wait for You, O LORD; we walk in the path of Your judgments. Your name and renown are the desire of our souls.
9SELF MY I HAVE DESIRED YOU IN THE NIGHT ALSO SPIRIT MY IN INNER BEING MY I WILL SEEK YOU FOR <JUST> WHEN JUDGMENTS YOUR [ARE] TO THE EARTH RIGHTEOUSNESS THEY LEARN [THE] INHABITANTS OF [THE] WORLD 9My soul longs for You in the night; indeed, my spirit seeks You at dawn.*NoteCloseOr my spirit within me seeks You. For when Your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness.
10HE IS SHOWN FAVOR [THE] WICKED NOT HE LEARNS RIGHTEOUSNESS IN A LAND OF STRAIGHTFORWARDNESS<ES> HE ACTS UNJUSTLY AND NOT HE SEES [THE] MAJESTY OF YAHWEH 10Though grace is shown to the wicked man, he does not learn righteousness. In the land of righteousness he acts unjustly and fails to see the majesty of the LORD.
11O YAHWEH IT IS RAISED HAND YOUR NOT THEY BEHOLD! THEY WILL BEHOLD AND THEY MAY BE ASHAMED [THE] ZEAL OF A PEOPLE ALSO [THE] FIRE OF OPPONENTS YOUR IT WILL CONSUME THEM 11O LORD, Your hand is upraised, but they do not see it. They will see Your zeal for Your people and be put to shame. The fire set for Your enemies will consume them!
12O YAHWEH YOU WILL ESTABLISH PEACE FOR US FOR ALSO ALL WORKS OUR YOU HAVE DONE FOR US 12O LORD, You will establish peace for us. For all that we have accomplished, You have done for us.
13O YAHWEH GOD OUR THEY HAVE RULED OVER US LORDS EXCEPT YOU <TO> ONLY IN YOU WE BRING TO REMEMBRANCE NAME YOUR 13O LORD our God, other lords besides You have ruled over us, but Your name alone do we confess
14DEAD [ONES] NOT THEY WILL LIVE SHADES NOT THEY WILL RISE <TO> THEREFORE YOU HAVE VISITED AND YOU HAVE DESTROYED THEM AND YOU HAVE DESTROYED ALL REMEMBRANCE OF THEM 14The dead will not live; the departed spirits will not rise. Therefore You have punished and destroyed them; You have wiped out all memory of them.
15YOU HAVE ADDED TO THE NATION O YAHWEH YOU HAVE ADDED TO THE NATION YOU HAVE GAINED GLORY YOU HAVE EXTENDED ALL [THE] BOUNDARIES OF [THE] LAND 15You have enlarged the nation, O LORD; You have enlarged the nation. You have gained glory for Yourself; You have extended all the borders of the land.
16O YAHWEH IN <THE> DISTRESS PEOPLE SOUGHT YOU THEY POURED OUT! A WHISPER CHASTENING YOUR [WAS] TO THEM 16O LORD, they sought You in their distress; when You disciplined them, they poured out a quiet prayer.
17LIKE A PREGNANT [WOMAN] [WHO] SHE BRINGS NEAR TO GIVE BIRTH SHE IS IN LABOR SHE CRIES OUT IN LABOR-PAINS HER SO WE WERE <FROM> BECAUSE OF YOU O YAHWEH 17As a woman with child about to give birth writhes and cries out in pain, so were we in Your presence, O LORD.
18WE WERE PREGNANT WE WERE IN LABOR LIKE WE GAVE BIRTH TO WIND DELIVERANCE<S> NOT WE ACCOMPLISH [THE] EARTH AND NOT THEY FALL [THE] INHABITANTS OF [THE] WORLD 18We were with child; we writhed in pain; but we gave birth to wind. We have given no salvation to the earth, nor brought any life into the world.
19THEY WILL LIVE DEAD [ONES] YOUR CORPSE MY THEY WILL RISE! AWAKE AND SHOUT FOR JOY O [THOSE WHO] DWELL OF DUST FOR [WILL BE THE] DEW OF LIGHTS DEW YOUR AND [THE] EARTH [THE] SHADES IT WILL MAKE FALL 19Your dead will live; their bodies will rise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in the dust! For your dew is like the dew of the morning, and the earth will bring forth her dead.
20COME O PEOPLE MY GO IN ROOMS YOUR AND SHUT DOOR YOUR BEHIND YOU HIDE LIKE A LITTLE OF A MOMENT UNTIL IT HAS PASSED BY INDIGNATION 20Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut your doors behind you. Hide yourselves a little while until the wrath has passed.

YAHWEH [IS] ABOUT TO GO FORTH FROM PLACE HIS TO VISIT [THE] INIQUITY OF [THE] INHABITANT[S] OF THE EARTH ON HIM AND IT WILL REVEAL THE EARTH <OBJ.> BLOOD<S> ITS AND NOT IT WILL COVER STILL OVER SLAIN [ONES] ITS 21For behold, the LORD is coming out of His dwelling to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity. The earth will reveal her bloodshed and will no longer conceal her slain.
