5IF [ARE] DETERMINED DAYS HIS [THE] NUMBER OF MONTHS HIS [IS] WITH YOU LIMITS HIS YOU HAVE APPOINTED AND NOT HE WILL PASS 5Since his days are determined and the number of his months is with You, and since You have set limits that he cannot exceed,
6LOOK AWAY FROM ON <THE> HIM SO HE MAY CEASE UNTIL HE TAKES PLEASURE IN LIKE A HIRED LABORER DAY HIS 6look away from him and let him rest, so he can enjoy his day as a hired hand.
7FOR THERE FOR <THE> A TREE [IS] HOPE IF IT WILL BE CUT DOWN AND AGAIN IT WILL SPROUT AFRESH AND YOUNG SHOOT[S] ITS NOT IT WILL FAIL 7For there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its tender shoots will not fail.
8THOUGH IT WILL GROW OLD IN THE GROUND ROOT ITS AND IN THE DUST IT WILL DIE STUMP ITS 8If its roots grow old in the ground and its stump dies in the soil,
9FROM [THE] SCENT OF WATER IT WILL SHOW BUDS AND IT WILL PRODUCE SHOOT[S] LIKE A PLANT 9at the scent of water it will bud and put forth twigs like a sapling.
10AND A MAN HE DIES AND HE WAS WEAK AND HE EXPIRED A PERSON AND WHERE [IS]? HE 10But a man dies and is laid low; he breathes his last, and where is he?
11THEY DISAPPEAR WATERS FROM [THE] SEA AND A RIVER IT DRIES UP AND IT IS DRY 11As water disappears from the sea and a river becomes parched and dry,
12AND A PERSON HE LIES DOWN AND NOT HE WILL ARISE UNTIL [IS] NOT HEAVEN NOT THEY WILL AWAKE AND NOT THEY WILL BE ROUSED FROM SLEEP THEIR 12so a man lies down and does not rise. Until the heavens are no more, he will not be awakened or roused from sleep.
13WHO? WILL HE GIVE IN SHEOL YOU WILL HIDE ME YOU WILL CONCEAL ME UNTIL TURNS BACK ANGER YOUR YOU WILL SET FOR ME A LIMIT AND YOU WILL REMEMBER ME 13If only You would hide me in Sheol and conceal me until Your anger has passed! If only You would appoint a time for me and then remember me!

17[WILL BE] SEALED UP IN A BAG TRANSGRESSION MY AND YOU HAVE SMEARED OVER INIQUITY MY 17My transgression would be sealed in a bag, and You would cover over my iniquity.
18AND BUT A MOUNTAIN [IS] FALLING IT CRUMBLES AWAY AND A ROCK IT MOVES FROM PLACE ITS 18But as a mountain erodes and crumbles and a rock is dislodged from its place,
19STONES THEY RUB AWAY WATERS IT WASHES OFF OVERFLOWINGS ITS [THE] DUST OF [THE] EARTH AND [THE] HOPE OF HUMANKIND YOU DESTROY 19as water wears away the stones and torrents wash away the soil, so You destroy a man’s hope.
20YOU OVERPOWER HIM TO PERPETUITY AND HE WENT [YOU ARE] CHANGING FACE HIS AND YOU SENT AWAY HIM 20You forever overpower him, and he passes on; You change his countenance and send him away.
21THEY ARE HONORED SONS HIS AND NOT HE KNOWS AND THEY MAY BE INSIGNIFICANT AND NOT HE PERCEIVES <TO> IT 21If his sons receive honor, he does not know it; if they are brought low, he is unaware
22ONLY OWN FLESH HIS ON HIMSELF IT IS IN PAIN AND SELF HIS ON HIMSELF IT MOURNS 22He feels only the pain of his own body and mourns only for himself
