2 THIS IT WILL BE [THE] LEGAL [PROCEDURE] OF THE [ONE WHO] HAS A SERIOUS SKIN DISEASE ON [THE] DAY OF PURIFICATION HIS AND HE WILL BE BROUGHT TO THE PRIEST
2 “This is the law for the one afflicted with a skin disease on the day of his cleansing, when he is brought to the priest.
3 AND HE WILL GO OUT THE PRIEST TO FROM [THE] OUTSIDE OF THE CAMP AND HE WILL SEE THE PRIEST AND THERE! IT HAS BEEN HEALED [THE] PLAGUE OF THE SERIOUS SKIN DISEASE FROM THE [ONE WHO] HAD A SERIOUS SKIN DISEASE
3 The priest is to go outside the camp to examine him, and if the skin disease of the afflicted person has healed,
4 AND HE WILL COMMAND THE PRIEST AND SOMEONE WILL TAKE FOR THE [ONE] PURIFYING HIMSELF TWO BIRDS LIVING PURE AND WOOD OF CEDAR AND SCARLET OF A WORM AND HYSSOP
4 the priest shall order that two live clean birds, cedar wood, scarlet yarn, and hyssop be brought for the one to be cleansed.
5 AND HE WILL COMMAND THE PRIEST AND SOMEONE WILL CUT [THE] THROAT OF <OBJ.> THE BIRD <THE> ONE INTO A VESSEL OF EARTHENWARE OVER WATER LIVING
5 Then the priest shall command that one of the birds be slaughtered over fresh water in a clay pot.
6 <OBJ.> THE BIRD <THE> LIVING HE WILL TAKE <OBJ.> IT AND <OBJ.> [THE] WOOD OF <THE> CEDAR AND <OBJ.> [THE] SCARLET OF THE WORM AND <OBJ.> THE HYSSOP AND HE WILL DIP <OBJ.> THEM AND <OBJ.> THE BIRD <THE> LIVING IN [THE] BLOOD OF THE BIRD [WHICH] HAD THE THROAT CUT OVER THE WATER <THE> LIVING
6 And he is to take the live bird together with the cedar wood, scarlet yarn and hyssop, and dip them into the blood of the bird that was slaughtered over the fresh water.
7 AND HE WILL SPATTER [IT] ON THE [ONE] PURIFYING HIMSELF FROM THE SERIOUS SKIN DISEASE SEVEN TIMES AND HE WILL DECLARE PURE HIM AND HE WILL LET GO <OBJ.> THE BIRD <THE> LIVING OVER [THE] SURFACE OF THE FIELD
7 Seven times he shall sprinkle the one to be cleansed of the skin disease. Then he shall pronounce him clean and release the live bird into the open field.
8 AND HE WILL WASH THE [ONE] PURIFYING HIMSELF <OBJ.> GARMENTS HIS AND HE WILL SHAVE <OBJ.> ALL HAIR HIS AND HE WILL WASH WITH <THE> WATER AND HE WILL BE PURE AND AFTER HE WILL COME INTO THE CAMP AND HE WILL REMAIN FROM [THE] OUTSIDE OF TENT HIS SEVEN DAYS
8 The one being cleansed must wash his clothes, shave off all his hair, and bathe with water; then he will be ceremonially clean. Afterward, he may enter the camp, but he must remain outside his tent for seven days.
9 AND IT WILL BE ON THE DAY <THE> SEVENTH HE WILL SHAVE <OBJ.> ALL HAIR HIS <OBJ.> HEAD HIS AND <OBJ.> BEARD HIS AND <OBJ.> [THE] EYEBROWS OF EYES HIS AND <OBJ.> ALL HAIR HIS HE WILL SHAVE AND HE WILL WASH <OBJ.> GARMENTS HIS AND HE WILL WASH <OBJ.> BODY HIS WITH <THE> WATER AND HE WILL BE PURE
9 On the seventh day he must shave off all his hair— his head, his beard, his eyebrows and the rest of his hair. He must wash his clothes and bathe himself with water, and he will be clean.
10 AND ON THE DAY <THE> EIGHTH HE WILL TAKE TWO MALE LAMBS UNBLEMISHED AND A EWE-LAMB ONE A DAUGHTER OF YEAR ITS UNBLEMISHED AND THREE TENTHS FINE FLOUR A GRAIN OFFERING MIXED WITH <THE> OIL AND A LOG ONE OIL
10 On the eighth day he is to bring two unblemished male lambs, an unblemished ewe lamb a year old, a grain offering of three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with olive oil, and one log of olive oil.
11 AND HE WILL STATION THE PRIEST WHO DECLARES PURE <OBJ.> THE PERSON WHO IS PURIFYING HIMSELF AND WITH <THE> THEM <TO> BEFORE YAHWEH [THE] ENTRANCE OF [THE] TENT OF MEETING
11 The priest who performs the cleansing shall present the one to be cleansed, together with these offerings, before the LORD at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
12 AND HE WILL TAKE THE PRIEST <OBJ.> THE MALE LAMB <THE> ONE AND HE WILL PRESENT <OBJ.> IT TO A GUILT OFFERING AND <OBJ.> [THE] LOG OF <THE> OIL AND HE WILL WAVE <OBJ.> THEM A WAVE-OFFERING <TO> BEFORE YAHWEH
12 Then the priest is to take one of the male lambs and present it as a guilt offering, along with the log of olive oil; and he must wave them as a wave offering before the LORD.
13 AND HE WILL CUT [THE] THROAT OF <OBJ.> THE MALE LAMB IN [THE] PLACE <OF> WHERE SOMEONE CUTS [THE] THROAT OF <OBJ.> THE SIN OFFERING AND <OBJ.> THE BURNT OFFERING IN [THE] PLACE OF <THE> HOLINESS FOR LIKE THE SIN OFFERING THE GUILT OFFERING IT [BELONGS] TO THE PRIEST [IS] A HOLY THING OF HOLY THINGS IT
13 Then he is to slaughter the lamb in the sanctuary area where the sin offering and burnt offering are slaughtered. Like the sin offering, the guilt offering belongs to the priest; it is most holy.
14 AND HE WILL TAKE THE PRIEST SOME OF [THE] BLOOD OF THE GUILT OFFERING AND HE WILL PUT [IT] THE PRIEST ON [THE] LOBE OF [THE] EAR OF THE [ONE] PURIFYING HIMSELF <THE> RIGHT AND ON [THE] THUMB OF HAND HIS <THE> RIGHT AND ON [THE] BIG TOE OF FOOT HIS <THE> RIGHT
14 The priest is to take some of the blood from the guilt offering and put it on the right earlobe of the one to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.
15 AND HE WILL TAKE THE PRIEST SOME OF [THE] LOG OF <THE> OIL AND HE WILL POUR [IT] ON [THE] PALM OF THE PRIEST <THE> LEFT
15 Then the priest shall take some of the log of olive oil, pour it into his left palm,
16 AND HE WILL DIP THE PRIEST <OBJ.> FINGER HIS <THE> RIGHT SOME OF THE OIL WHICH [IS] ON PALM HIS <THE> LEFT AND HE WILL SPATTER SOME OF THE OIL WITH FINGER HIS SEVEN TIMES <TO> BEFORE YAHWEH
16 dip his right forefinger into the oil in his left palm, and sprinkle some of the oil with his finger seven times before the LORD.
17 AND SOME OF [THE] REMAINDER OF THE OIL WHICH [IS] ON PALM HIS HE WILL PUT THE PRIEST ON [THE] LOBE OF [THE] EAR OF THE [ONE] PURIFYING HIMSELF <THE> RIGHT AND ON [THE] THUMB OF HAND HIS <THE> RIGHT AND ON [THE] BIG TOE OF FOOT HIS <THE> RIGHT ON [THE] BLOOD OF THE GUILT OFFERING
17 And the priest is to put some of the oil remaining in his palm on the right earlobe of the one to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, on top of the blood of the guilt offering.
18 AND THE REMAINDER IN THE OIL WHICH [IS] ON [THE] PALM OF THE PRIEST HE WILL PUT ON [THE] HEAD OF THE [ONE] PURIFYING HIMSELF AND HE WILL MAKE ATONEMENT ON HIM THE PRIEST <TO> BEFORE YAHWEH
18 The rest of the oil in his palm, the priest is to put on the head of the one to be cleansed, to make atonement for him before the LORD.
19 AND HE WILL OFFER THE PRIEST <OBJ.> THE SIN OFFERING AND HE WILL MAKE ATONEMENT ON THE [ONE] PURIFYING HIMSELF FROM UNCLEANNESS HIS AND AFTER HE WILL CUT [THE] THROAT OF <OBJ.> THE BURNT OFFERING
19 Then the priest is to sacrifice the sin offering and make atonement for the one to be cleansed from his uncleanness. After that, the priest shall slaughter the burnt offering
20 AND HE WILL OFFER UP THE PRIEST <OBJ.> THE BURNT OFFERING AND <OBJ.> THE GRAIN OFFERING THE ALTAR TOWARDS AND HE WILL MAKE ATONEMENT ON HIM THE PRIEST AND HE WILL BE CLEAN
20 and offer it on the altar, with the grain offering, to make atonement for him, and he will be clean.
21 AND IF [IS] POOR HE AND NOT HAND HIS [IS] REACHING AND HE WILL TAKE A MALE LAMB ONE A GUILT OFFERING TO A WAVE-OFFERING TO MAKE ATONEMENT ON HIMSELF AND A TENTH OF FINE FLOUR ONE MIXED WITH <THE> OIL TO A GRAIN OFFERING AND A LOG OF OIL
21 If, however, the person is poor and cannot afford these offerings, he is to take one male lamb as a guilt offering to be waved to make atonement for him, along with a tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with olive oil for a grain offering, a log of olive oil,
22 AND TWO TURTLE-DOVES OR TWO YOUNG ONES OF A DOVE WHICH IT WILL REACH HAND HIS AND IT WILL BE ONE [BIRD] A SIN OFFERING AND THE ONE A BURNT OFFERING
22 and two turtledoves or two young pigeons, whichever he can afford, one to be a sin offering and the other a burnt offering.
23 AND HE WILL BRING <OBJ.> THEM ON THE DAY <THE> EIGHTH FOR PURIFICATION HIS TO THE PRIEST TO [THE] ENTRANCE OF [THE] TENT OF MEETING <TO> BEFORE YAHWEH
23 On the eighth day he is to bring them for his cleansing to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting before the LORD.
24 AND HE WILL TAKE THE PRIEST <OBJ.> [THE] MALE LAMB OF THE GUILT OFFERING AND <OBJ.> [THE] LOG OF <THE> OIL AND HE WILL WAVE <OBJ.> THEM THE PRIEST A WAVE-OFFERING <TO> BEFORE YAHWEH
24 The priest shall take the lamb for the guilt offering, along with the log of olive oil, and wave them as a wave offering before the LORD.
25 AND HE WILL CUT [THE] THROAT OF <OBJ.> [THE] MALE LAMB OF THE GUILT OFFERING AND HE WILL TAKE THE PRIEST SOME OF [THE] BLOOD OF THE GUILT OFFERING AND HE WILL PUT [IT] ON [THE] LOBE OF [THE] EAR OF THE [ONE] PURIFYING HIMSELF <THE> RIGHT AND ON [THE] THUMB OF HAND HIS <THE> RIGHT AND ON [THE] BIG TOE OF FOOT HIS <THE> RIGHT
25 And after he slaughters the lamb for the guilt offering, the priest is to take some of the blood of the guilt offering and put it on the right earlobe of the one to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.
26 AND SOME OF THE OIL HE WILL POUR THE PRIEST ON [THE] PALM OF THE PRIEST <THE> LEFT
26 Then the priest is to pour some of the oil into his left palm
27 AND HE WILL SPATTER THE PRIEST WITH FINGER HIS <THE> RIGHT SOME OF THE OIL WHICH [IS] ON PALM HIS <THE> LEFT SEVEN TIMES <TO> BEFORE YAHWEH
27 and sprinkle with his right forefinger some of the oil in his left palm seven times before the LORD.
28 AND HE WILL PUT THE PRIEST SOME OF THE OIL WHICH [IS] ON PALM HIS ON [THE] LOBE OF [THE] EAR OF THE [ONE] PURIFYING HIMSELF <THE> RIGHT AND ON [THE] THUMB OF HAND HIS <THE> RIGHT AND ON [THE] BIG TOE OF FOOT HIS <THE> RIGHT ON [THE] PLACE OF [THE] BLOOD OF THE GUILT OFFERING
28 The priest shall also put some of the oil in his palm on the right earlobe of the one to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot— on the same places as the blood of the guilt offering.
29 AND THE REMAINDER OF THE OIL WHICH [IS] ON [THE] PALM OF THE PRIEST HE WILL PUT ON [THE] HEAD OF THE [ONE] PURIFYING HIMSELF TO MAKE ATONEMENT ON HIM <TO> BEFORE YAHWEH
29 The rest of the oil in his palm, the priest is to put on the head of the one to be cleansed, to make atonement for him before the LORD.
30 AND HE WILL OFFER <OBJ.> THE ONE OF THE TURTLE-DOVES OR OF [THE] YOUNG ONES OF THE DOVE FROM [THAT] WHICH IT WILL REACH HAND HIS
30 Then he must sacrifice the turtledoves or young pigeons, whichever he can afford,
31 <OBJ.> [THAT] WHICH IT WILL REACH HAND HIS <OBJ.> THE ONE [BIRD] A SIN OFFERING AND <OBJ.> THE ONE A BURNT OFFERING WITH THE GRAIN OFFERING AND HE WILL MAKE ATONEMENT THE PRIEST ON THE [ONE] PURIFYING HIMSELF <TO> BEFORE YAHWEH
31 one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering, together with the grain offering. In this way the priest will make atonement before the LORD for the one to be cleansed.
32 THIS [IS] [THE] LEGAL [PROCEDURE] OF [ONE] WHOM [WAS] IN <THE> HIM A PLAGUE OF A SERIOUS SKIN DISEASE WHO NOT IT WILL REACH HAND HIS FOR PURIFICATION HIS
32 This is the law for someone who has a skin disease and cannot afford the cost of his cleansing.”
33 AND HE SPOKE YAHWEH TO MOSES AND TO AARON <TO> SAYING
Signs of Home Contamination
33 Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
34 THAT YOU WILL GO INTO [THE] LAND OF CANAAN WHICH I [AM] ABOUT TO GIVE TO <THE> YOU TO A POSSESSION AND I WILL PUT A PLAGUE OF A SERIOUS DISEASE IN [THE] HOUSE OF [THE] LAND OF POSSESSION YOUR
34 “When you enter the land of Canaan, which I am giving you as your possession, and I put a contamination of mildew into a house in that land
35 AND HE WILL COME [THE ONE] WHOM [BELONGS] TO <THE> HIM THE HOUSE AND HE WILL TELL TO THE PRIEST <TO> SAYING LIKE A PLAGUE IT HAS APPEARED TO <THE> ME IN THE HOUSE
35 the owner of the house shall come and tell the priest, ‘Something like mildew has appeared in my house.’
36 AND HE WILL COMMAND THE PRIEST AND PEOPLE WILL MAKE CLEAR <OBJ.> THE HOUSE <IN> BEFORE HE WILL GO THE PRIEST TO SEE <OBJ.> THE PLAGUE AND NOT IT WILL BE UNCLEAN ALL THAT [IS] IN THE HOUSE AND AFTER THUS HE WILL GO THE PRIEST TO SEE <OBJ.> THE HOUSE
36 The priest must order that the house be cleared before he enters it to examine the mildew, so that nothing in the house will become unclean. After this, the priest shall go in to inspect the house.
37 AND HE WILL SEE <OBJ.> THE PLAGUE AND THERE! THE PLAGUE [IS] IN [THE] WALLS OF THE HOUSE DEPRESSIONS GREENISH OR REDDISH AND APPEARANCE THEIR [IS] DEEP MORE THAN THE WALL
37 He is to examine the house, and if the mildew on the walls consists of green or red depressions that appear to be beneath the surface of the wall,
38 AND HE WILL GO OUT THE PRIEST FROM THE HOUSE TO [THE] ENTRANCE OF THE HOUSE AND HE WILL SHUT UP <OBJ.> THE HOUSE SEVEN DAYS
38 the priest shall go outside the doorway of the house and close it up for seven days.
39 AND HE WILL RETURN THE PRIEST ON THE DAY <THE> SEVENTH AND HE WILL SEE AND THERE! IT HAS SPREAD THE PLAGUE IN [THE] WALLS OF THE HOUSE
39 On the seventh day the priest is to return and inspect the house. If the mildew has spread on the walls
40 AND HE WILL COMMAND THE PRIEST AND PEOPLE WILL TEAR OUT <OBJ.> THE STONES WHICH [IS] IN <THE> THEM THE PLAGUE AND THEY WILL THROW <OBJ.> THEM TO FROM [THE] OUTSIDE OF THE CITY TO A PLACE UNCLEAN
40 he must order that the contaminated stones be pulled out and thrown into an unclean place outside the city.
41 AND <OBJ.> THE HOUSE HE WILL SCRAPE FROM INSIDE ALL AROUND AND THEY WILL POUR OUT <OBJ.> THE DUST WHICH THEY HAVE SCRAPED OFF TO FROM [THE] OUTSIDE OF THE CITY TO A PLACE UNCLEAN
41 And he shall have the inside of the house scraped completely and the plaster that is scraped off dumped into an unclean place outside the city.
42 AND THEY WILL TAKE STONES OTHER AND THEY WILL BRING [THEM] TO IN PLACE OF THE STONES AND DUST OTHER HE WILL TAKE AND HE WILL PLASTER <OBJ.> THE HOUSE
42 So different stones must be obtained to replace the contaminated ones, as well as additional mortar to replaster the house.
43 AND IF IT WILL RETURN THE PLAGUE AND IT WILL BREAK OUT IN THE HOUSE AFTER TEARS OUT <OBJ.> THE STONES AND AFTER HAS SCRAPED <OBJ.> THE HOUSE AND AFTER WAS PLASTERED
43 If the mildew reappears in the house after the stones have been torn out and the house has been scraped and replastered,
44 AND HE WILL COME THE PRIEST AND HE WILL SEE AND THERE! IT HAS SPREAD THE PLAGUE IN THE HOUSE [IS] A SERIOUS DISEASE MALIGNANT IT IN THE HOUSE [IS] UNCLEAN IT
44 the priest must come and inspect it.
If the mildew has spread in the house, it is a destructive mildew; the house is unclean.
45 AND HE WILL PULL DOWN <OBJ.> THE HOUSE <OBJ.> STONES ITS AND <OBJ.> WOOD<S> ITS AND <OBJ.> ALL [THE] DUST OF THE HOUSE AND HE WILL TAKE [THEM] OUT TO FROM [THE] OUTSIDE OF THE CITY TO A PLACE UNCLEAN
45 It must be torn down with its stones, its timbers, and all its plaster, and taken outside the city to an unclean place.
46 AND THE [ONE WHO] GOES INTO THE HOUSE ALL [THE] DAYS <OF> [WHICH] HE HAS SHUT UP <OBJ.> IT HE WILL BE UNCLEAN UNTIL THE EVENING
46 Anyone who enters the house during any of the days that it is closed up will be unclean until evening.
47 AND THE [ONE WHO] LIES DOWN IN THE HOUSE HE WILL WASH <OBJ.> GARMENTS HIS AND THE [ONE WHO] EATS IN THE HOUSE HE WILL WASH <OBJ.> GARMENTS HIS
47 And anyone who sleeps in the house or eats in it must wash his clothes.
48 AND IF INDEED <COME> HE WILL COME THE PRIEST AND HE WILL SEE AND THERE! NOT IT HAS SPREAD THE PLAGUE IN THE HOUSE AFTER WAS PLASTERED <OBJ.> THE HOUSE AND HE WILL DECLARE PURE THE PRIEST <OBJ.> THE HOUSE FOR IT HAS BEEN HEALED THE PLAGUE
Cleansing a Home
48 If, however, the priest comes and inspects it, and the mildew has not spread after the house has been replastered, he shall pronounce the house clean, because the mildew is gone.
49 AND HE WILL TAKE TO CLEANSE FROM SIN <OBJ.> THE HOUSE TWO BIRDS AND WOOD OF CEDAR AND SCARLET OF A WORM AND HYSSOP
49 He is to take two birds, cedar wood, scarlet yarn, and hyssop to purify the house;
50 AND HE WILL CUT [THE] THROAT OF <OBJ.> THE BIRD <THE> ONE INTO A VESSEL OF EARTHENWARE OVER WATER LIVING
50 and he shall slaughter one of the birds over fresh water in a clay pot.
51 AND HE WILL TAKE <OBJ.> [THE] WOOD OF <THE> CEDAR AND <OBJ.> THE HYSSOP AND <OBJ.> [THE] SCARLET OF THE WORM AND <OBJ.> THE BIRD <THE> LIVING AND HE WILL DIP <OBJ.> THEM IN [THE] BLOOD OF THE BIRD [WHICH] HAD THE THROAT CUT AND IN THE WATER <THE> LIVING AND HE WILL SPATTER [IT] TO THE HOUSE SEVEN TIMES
51 Then he shall take the cedar wood, the hyssop, the scarlet yarn and the live bird, dip them in the blood of the slaughtered bird and the fresh water, and sprinkle the house seven times.
52 AND HE WILL CLEANSE FROM SIN <OBJ.> THE HOUSE WITH [THE] BLOOD OF THE BIRD AND WITH THE WATER <THE> LIVING AND WITH THE BIRD <THE> LIVING AND WITH [THE] WOOD OF <THE> CEDAR AND WITH THE HYSSOP AND WITH [THE] SCARLET OF THE WORM
52 And he shall cleanse the house with the bird’s blood, the fresh water, the live bird, the cedar wood, the hyssop, and the scarlet yarn.
53 AND HE WILL LET GO <OBJ.> THE BIRD <THE> LIVING TO FROM [THE] OUTSIDE OF THE CITY TO [THE] SURFACE OF THE FIELD AND HE WILL MAKE ATONEMENT ON THE HOUSE AND IT WILL BE PURE
53 Finally, he is to release the live bird into the open fields outside the city. In this way he will make atonement for the house, and it will be clean.
54 THIS [IS] THE LEGAL [PROCEDURE] TO EVERY <THE> PLAGUE OF <THE> SERIOUS SKIN DISEASE AND TO <THE> SCALL
54 This is the law for any infectious skin disease, for a scaly outbreak,
55 AND TO [THE] SERIOUS DISEASE OF <THE> CLOTHING AND TO <THE> HOUSE
55 for mildew in clothing or in a house,
56 AND TO <THE> SWELLING AND TO <THE> FLAKING SKIN AND TO <THE> BRIGHT SPOT
56 and for a swelling, rash, or spot,
57 TO TEACH ON [THE] DAY OF THE UNCLEAN [THING] AND ON [THE] DAY OF THE PURE [THING] THIS [IS] [THE] LEGAL [PROCEDURE] OF <THE> SERIOUS SKIN DISEASE
57 to determine when something is clean or unclean. This is the law regarding skin diseases and mildew. ”
