1AND HE SPOKE YAHWEH TO MOSES AND TO AARON <TO> SAYING The Uncleanness of Men (Deuteronomy 23:9–14) 1And the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
2SPEAK TO [THE] PEOPLE OF ISRAEL AND YOU WILL SAY TO THEM A MAN A MAN IF HE WILL BE DISCHARGING FROM FLESH HIS DISCHARGE HIS [IS] UNCLEAN IT 2“Say to the Israelites ‘When any man has a bodily discharge, the discharge is unclean.
3AND THIS IT WILL BE UNCLEANNESS HIS BY DISCHARGE HIS IT HAS SECRETED FLESH HIS <OBJ.> DISCHARGE HIS OR IT HAS BEEN OBSTRUCTED FLESH HIS FROM DISCHARGE HIS [IS] UNCLEANNESS HIS IT 3This uncleanness is from his discharge, whether his body allows the discharge to flow or blocks it. So his discharge will bring about uncleanness.
4EVERY <THE> BED WHICH HE WILL LIE DOWN ON IT THE [ONE] DISCHARGING IT WILL BE UNCLEAN AND EVERY <THE> ARTICLE WHICH HE WILL SIT ON IT IT WILL BE UNCLEAN 4Any bed on which the man with the discharge lies will be unclean, and any furniture on which he sits will be unclean.
5AND ANYONE WHO HE WILL TOUCH <IN> BED HIS HE WILL WASH GARMENTS HIS AND HE WILL WASH WITH <THE> WATER AND HE WILL BE UNCLEAN UNTIL THE EVENING 5Anyone who touches his bed must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be unclean until evening.
6AND WHO [-EVER] SITS ON THE ARTICLE WHICH HE WILL SIT ON IT THE [ONE] DISCHARGING HE WILL WASH GARMENTS HIS AND HE WILL WASH WITH <THE> WATER AND HE WILL BE UNCLEAN UNTIL THE EVENING 6Whoever sits on furniture on which the man with the discharge was sitting must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be unclean until evening.
7AND WHO [-EVER] TOUCHES <IN> [THE] FLESH OF THE [ONE] DISCHARGING HE WILL WASH GARMENTS HIS AND HE WILL WASH WITH <THE> WATER AND HE WILL BE UNCLEAN UNTIL THE EVENING 7Whoever touches the body of the man with a discharge must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be unclean until evening.
8AND IF HE WILL SPIT THE [ONE] DISCHARGING ON <THE> PURE [PERSON] AND HE WILL WASH GARMENTS HIS AND HE WILL WASH WITH <THE> WATER AND HE WILL BE UNCLEAN UNTIL THE EVENING 8If the man with the discharge spits on one who is clean, that person must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be unclean until evening.
9AND EVERY <THE> SADDLE WHICH HE WILL RIDE ON IT THE [ONE] DISCHARGING IT WILL BE UNCLEAN 9Any saddle on which the man with the discharge rides will be unclean.
10AND EVERY <THE> [ONE WHO] TOUCHES <IN> ALL THAT IT WILL BE UNDER HIM HE WILL BE UNCLEAN UNTIL THE EVENING AND WHO [-EVER] CARRIES <OBJ.> THEM HE WILL WASH GARMENTS HIS AND HE WILL WASH WITH <THE> WATER AND HE WILL BE UNCLEAN UNTIL THE EVENING 10Whoever touches anything that was under him will be unclean until evening, and whoever carries such things must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be unclean until evening.
11AND EVERY [ONE] WHOM HE WILL TOUCH <IN> <THE> HIM THE [ONE] DISCHARGING AND HANDS HIS NOT HE HAS RINSED WITH <THE> WATER AND HE WILL WASH GARMENTS HIS AND HE WILL WASH WITH <THE> WATER AND HE WILL BE UNCLEAN UNTIL THE EVENING 11If the man with the discharge touches anyone without first rinsing his hands with water, the one who was touched must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be unclean until evening.
12AND A VESSEL OF EARTHENWARE WHICH HE WILL TOUCH <IN> <THE> IT THE [ONE] DISCHARGING IT WILL BE BROKEN AND EVERY VESSEL OF WOOD IT WILL BE RINSED WITH <THE> WATER 12Any clay pot that the man with the discharge touches must be broken, and any wooden utensil must be rinsed with water.
13AND IF HE WILL BE PURE THE [ONE] DISCHARGING FROM DISCHARGE HIS AND HE WILL COUNT FOR <THE> HIMSELF SEVEN DAYS FOR PURIFICATION HIS AND HE WILL WASH GARMENTS HIS AND HE WILL WASH BODY HIS WITH WATER LIVING AND HE WILL BE PURE The Cleansing of Men 13When the man has been cleansed from his discharge, he must count off seven days for his cleansing, wash his clothes, and bathe himself in fresh water,*NoteCloseOr flowing water or living water and he shall be clean.
14AND ON THE DAY <THE> EIGHTH HE WILL TAKE FOR <THE> HIMSELF TWO TURTLE-DOVES OR TWO YOUNG ONES OF A DOVE AND HE WILL COME <TO> BEFORE YAHWEH TO [THE] ENTRANCE OF [THE] TENT OF MEETING AND HE WILL GIVE THEM TO THE PRIEST 14On the eighth day he is to take two turtledoves or two young pigeons, come before the LORD at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, and give them to the priest.
15AND HE WILL OFFER <OBJ.> THEM THE PRIEST ONE [BIRD] A SIN OFFERING AND THE ONE A BURNT OFFERING AND HE WILL MAKE ATONEMENT ON HIM THE PRIEST <TO> BEFORE YAHWEH FROM DISCHARGE HIS 15The priest is to sacrifice them, one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for the man before the LORD because of his discharge.
16AND A MAN IF IT WILL GO OUT FROM HIM A LAYING OF SEED AND HE WILL WASH WITH <THE> WATER <OBJ.> ALL BODY HIS AND HE WILL BE UNCLEAN UNTIL THE EVENING 16When a man has an emission of semen, he must bathe his whole body with water, and he will be unclean until evening.
17AND EVERY GARMENT AND EVERY HIDE WHICH IT WILL BE ON IT A LAYING OF SEED AND IT WILL BE WASHED WITH <THE> WATER AND IT WILL BE UNCLEAN UNTIL THE EVENING 17Any clothing or leather on which there is an emission of semen must be washed with water, and it will remain unclean until evening.
18AND A WOMAN WHOM HE WILL LIE WITH A MAN WITH <THE> HER A LAYING OF SEED AND THEY WILL WASH WITH <THE> WATER AND THEY WILL BE UNCLEAN UNTIL THE EVENING 18If a man lies with a woman and there is an emission of semen, both must bathe with water, and they will remain unclean until evening.
19AND A WOMAN IF SHE WILL BE DISCHARGING BLOOD IT WILL BE DISCHARGE HER IN FLESH HER SEVEN DAYS SHE WILL BE IN MENSTRUOUS IMPURITY HER AND EVERY <THE> [ONE WHO] TOUCHES <IN> <THE> HER HE WILL BE UNCLEAN UNTIL THE EVENING The Uncleanness of Women 19When a woman has a discharge consisting of blood from her body, she will be unclean due to her menstruation for seven days, and anyone who touches her will be unclean until evening.
20AND ALL THAT SHE WILL LIE DOWN ON IT IN MENSTRUOUS IMPURITY HER IT WILL BE UNCLEAN AND ALL THAT SHE WILL SIT ON IT IT WILL BE UNCLEAN 20Anything on which she lies or sits during her menstruation will be unclean,
21AND EVERY <THE> [ONE WHO] TOUCHES <IN> BED HER HE WILL WASH GARMENTS HIS AND HE WILL WASH WITH <THE> WATER AND HE WILL BE UNCLEAN UNTIL THE EVENING 21and anyone who touches her bed must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be unclean until evening.
22AND EVERY <THE> [ONE WHO] TOUCHES <IN> EVERY ARTICLE WHICH SHE WILL SIT ON IT HE WILL WASH GARMENTS HIS AND HE WILL WASH WITH <THE> WATER AND HE WILL BE UNCLEAN UNTIL THE EVENING 22Whoever touches any furniture on which she was sitting must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be unclean until evening.
23AND IF [IS] ON THE BED IT OR ON THE ARTICLE WHICH SHE [WAS] SITTING ON IT WHEN TOUCHES HE <IN> <THE> IT HE WILL BE UNCLEAN UNTIL THE EVENING 23And whether it is a bed or furniture on which she was sitting, whoever touches it will be unclean until evening.
24AND IF CERTAINLY <TO LIE> HE WILL LIE WITH A MAN WITH <THE> HER AND IT WILL BE MENSTRUOUS IMPURITY HER ON HIM AND HE WILL BE UNCLEAN SEVEN DAYS AND EVERY <THE> BED WHICH HE WILL LIE ON IT IT WILL BE UNCLEAN 24If a man lies with her and her menstrual flow touches him, he will be unclean for seven days, and any bed on which he lies will become unclean.
25AND A WOMAN IF IT WILL DISCHARGE [THE] DISCHARGE OF BLOOD HER DAYS MANY AT NOT [THE] TIME OF MENSTRUOUS IMPURITY HER OR IF SHE WILL DISCHARGE ON MENSTRUOUS IMPURITY HER ALL [THE] DAYS OF [THE] DISCHARGE OF UNCLEANNESS HER LIKE [THE] DAYS OF MENSTRUOUS IMPURITY HER SHE WILL BE [IS] UNCLEAN SHE 25When a woman has a discharge of her blood for many days at a time other than her menstrual period, or if it continues beyond her period, she will be unclean all the days of her unclean discharge, just as she is during the days of her menstruation.
26EVERY <THE> BED WHICH SHE WILL LIE ON IT ALL [THE] DAYS OF DISCHARGE HER LIKE [THE] BED OF MENSTRUOUS IMPURITY HER IT WILL BE TO <THE> HER AND EVERY <THE> ARTICLE WHICH SHE WILL SIT ON IT UNCLEAN IT WILL BE LIKE [THE] UNCLEANNESS OF MENSTRUOUS IMPURITY HER 26Any bed on which she lies or any furniture on which she sits during the days of her discharge will be unclean like her bed during her menstrual period.
27AND EVERY <THE> [ONE WHO] TOUCHES <IN> <THE> THEM HE WILL BE UNCLEAN AND HE WILL WASH GARMENTS HIS AND HE WILL WASH WITH <THE> WATER AND HE WILL BE UNCLEAN UNTIL THE EVENING 27Anyone who touches these things will be unclean; he must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be unclean until evening.
28AND IF SHE HAS BECOME PURE FROM DISCHARGE HER AND SHE WILL COUNT FOR <THE> HERSELF SEVEN DAYS AND AFTER SHE WILL BE PURE The Cleansing of Women 28When a woman is cleansed of her discharge, she must count off seven days, and after that she will be ceremonially clean.
29AND ON THE DAY <THE> EIGHTH SHE WILL TAKE FOR <THE> HERSELF TWO TURTLE-DOVES OR TWO YOUNG ONES OF A DOVE AND SHE WILL BRING <OBJ.> THEM TO THE PRIEST TO [THE] ENTRANCE OF [THE] TENT OF MEETING 29On the eighth day she is to take two turtledoves or two young pigeons and bring them to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
30AND HE WILL OFFER THE PRIEST <OBJ.> THE ONE [BIRD] A SIN OFFERING AND <OBJ.> THE ONE A BURNT OFFERING AND HE WILL MAKE ATONEMENT ON HER THE PRIEST <TO> BEFORE YAHWEH FROM [THE] DISCHARGE OF UNCLEANNESS HER 30The priest is to sacrifice one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for her before the LORD for her unclean discharge.
31AND YOU WILL KEEP SEPARATE <OBJ.> [THE] PEOPLE OF ISRAEL FROM UNCLEANNESS THEIR AND NOT THEY WILL DIE IN UNCLEANNESS THEIR BECAUSE MAKE UNCLEAN THEY <OBJ.> DWELLING PLACE MY WHICH [IS] AMONG MIDST OF THEM 31You must keep the children of Israel separate from their uncleanness, so that they do not die by defiling My tabernacle, which is among them.
32THIS [IS] [THE] LEGAL [PROCEDURE] OF THE [ONE] DISCHARGING AND [THE ONE] WHO IT WILL GO OUT FROM HIM A LAYING OF SEED TO BE UNCLEAN BY <THE> IT 32This is the law of him who has a discharge, of the man who has an emission of semen whereby he is unclean,
33AND THE MENSTRUATING [WOMAN] IN MENSTRUOUS IMPURITY HER AND THE [ONE] DISCHARGING <OBJ.> DISCHARGE HIS FOR THE MALE AND FOR THE FEMALE AND FOR A MAN WHO HE WILL LIE WITH AN UNCLEAN [WOMAN] 33of a woman in her menstrual period, of any male or female who has a discharge and of a man who lies with an unclean woman.’”
