22THE [ONE] HAVING AN EAR HE SHOULD HEAR WHAT THE SPIRIT SAYS TO THE CHURCHES. 22He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. ”
1AFTER THESE THINGS I LOOKED, AND BEHOLD A DOOR OPENED IN <THE> HEAVEN, AND THE VOICE <THE> FIRST THAT I HEARD LIKE A TRUMPET WAS SPEAKING WITH ME SAYING; DO COME UP HERE, AND I WILL SHOW TO YOU WHAT IT BEHOOVES TO TAKE PLACE AFTER THESE THINGS. The Throne in Heaven 1After this I looked and saw a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had previously heard speak to me like a trumpet was saying, “Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after these things. ”
2AND IMMEDIATELY I WAS IN [THE] SPIRIT AND BEHOLD A THRONE WAS SET IN <THE> HEAVEN, AND UPON THE THRONE [ONE] SITTING. 2At once I was in the Spirit, and I saw a throne standing in heaven, with someone seated on it.
3AND THE [ONE] SITTING WAS LIKE IN APPEARANCE STONE JASPER AND SARDIUS AND A RAINBOW [WAS] AROUND THE THRONE LIKE IN APPEARANCE AN EMERALD. 3The One seated there looked like jasper and carnelian, and a rainbow that gleamed like an emerald encircled the throne.
4AND AROUND THE THRONE THRONES [WERE] TWENTY AND FOUR, AND ON THE THRONES I SAW <THE> TWENTY AND FOUR ELDERS SITTING, HAVING CLOTHED THEMSELVES IN GARMENTS WHITE, AND HAD ON THE HEADS OF THEM CROWNS GOLDEN. 4Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and on these thrones sat twenty-four elders dressed in white with golden crowns on their heads.
5AND OUT OF THE THRONE COME FLASHES OF LIGHTNING AND VOICES AND THUNDERINGS, AND [THERE WERE] SEVEN LAMPS OF FIRE BURNING BEFORE THE THRONE OF HIM WHICH ARE THE SEVEN SPIRITS <THE> OF GOD, Worship of the Creator 5From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings, and peals of thunder. Before the throne burned seven torches of fire. These are the seven spirits*NoteCloseOr This is the sevenfold Spirit of God.
6AND BEFORE THE THRONE [WAS SOMETHING] LIKE A SEA OF GLASS, LIKE AS CRYSTAL, AND IN [THE] MIDST OF THE THRONE AND AROUND THE THRONE [WERE] FOUR LIVING CREATURES BEING FULL OF EYES IN FRONT AND BEHIND. 6And before the throne was something like a sea of glass, as clear as crystal. In the center around the throne, were four living creatures, covered with eyes in front and back.
7AND THE LIVING CREATURE <THE> FIRST [WAS] LIKE AS A LION, AND THE SECOND LIVING CREATURE LIKE AS A CALF, AND THE THIRD LIVING CREATURE HE IS HAVING THE FACE AS OF A MAN, AND THE FOURTH LIVING CREATURE LIKE AS AN EAGLE FLYING. 7The first living creature was like a lion, the second like a calf, the third had a face like a man, and the fourth was like an eagle in flight.
8AND THE FOUR LIVING CREATURES, ONE FOR ONE OF THEM HE HAVING RESPECTIVELY WINGS SIX AROUND AND WITHIN FULL OF EYES AND REST NOT THEY HAVE BY DAY AND NIGHT SAYING: HOLY HOLY HOLY LORD <THE> GOD <THE> ALMIGHTY, WHO WAS BEING AND WHO IS BEING AND WHO IS COMING. 8And each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around and within. Day and night they never stop saying: “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!”
9AND WHENEVER WILL GIVE THE LIVING CREATURES GLORY AND HONOR AND THANKSGIVING TO THE [ONE] SITTING UPON THE THRONE, WHO IS LIVING TO THE AGES OF THE AGES, 9And whenever the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to the One seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever,
10WILL FALL THE TWENTY AND FOUR ELDERS BEFORE THE [ONE] SITTING UPON THE THRONE AND THEY WILL WORSHIP THE [ONE] LIVING TO THE AGES OF THE AGES AND THEY WILL CAST THE CROWNS OF THEM BEFORE THE THRONE SAYING: 10the twenty-four elders fall down before the One seated on the throne, and they worship Him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying:
11WORTHY ARE YOU LORD AND THE GOD OF US, THE HOLY ONE TO RECEIVE <THE> GLORY AND <THE> HONOR AND <THE> POWER. FOR YOU YOURSELF CREATED <THE> ALL THINGS, AND BECAUSE OF THE WILL OF YOU THEY WERE EXISTING AND WERE CREATED. 11“Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things; by Your will they exist and were created. ”
