1ON THE DAY <THE> THAT IT WILL BE A FOUNTAIN OPENED FOR [THE] HOUSE OF DAVID AND FOR [THE] INHABITANTS OF JERUSALEM FOR SIN AND FOR IMPURITY An End to Idolatry 1“On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the people of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity.
2AND IT WILL BE ON THE DAY <THE> THAT [THE] UTTERANCE OF YAHWEH OF HOSTS I WILL CUT OFF <OBJ.> [THE] NAMES OF THE IDOLS FROM THE LAND AND NOT THEY WILL BE REMEMBERED AGAIN AND ALSO <OBJ.> THE PROPHETS AND <OBJ.> [THE] SPIRIT OF <THE> UNCLEANNESS I WILL CAUSE TO PASS AWAY FROM THE LAND 2And on that day, declares the LORD of Hosts, I will erase the names of the idols from the land, and they will no longer be remembered. I will also remove the prophets and the spirit of impurity*NoteCloseOr the unclean spirit from the land.
3AND IT WILL BE THAT HE WILL PROPHESY ANYONE STILL AND THEY WILL SAY TO HIM FATHER HIS AND MOTHER HIS [WHO] BEGOT HIM NOT YOU WILL LIVE FOR FALSEHOOD YOU HAVE SPOKEN IN [THE] NAME OF YAHWEH AND THEY WILL PIERCE THROUGH HIM FATHER HIS AND MOTHER HIS [WHO] BEGOT HIM WHEN PROPHECIES HE 3And if anyone still prophesies, his father and mother who bore him will say to him, ‘You shall not remain alive, because you have spoken falsely in the name of the LORD.’ When he prophesies, his father and mother who bore him will pierce him through.
4AND IT WILL BE ON THE DAY <THE> THAT THEY WILL BE ASHAMED THE PROPHETS EACH ONE FROM VISION HIS WHEN PROPHECIES HE AND NOT THEY WILL WEAR A CLOAK OF HAIR SO AS TO DECEIVE 4And on that day every prophet who prophesies will be ashamed of his vision, and he will not put on a hairy cloak in order to deceive.
5AND HE WILL SAY NOT [AM] A PROPHET I [AM] A MAN [WHO] TILLS GROUND I FOR SOMEONE HE SOLD ME SINCE YOUTH<S> MY 5He will say, ‘I am not a prophet; I work the land, for I was purchased as a servant in my youth.*NoteCloseOr I am a farmer, for the land has been my livelihood since my youth. ’
6AND SOMEONE WILL SAY TO HIM WHAT? [ARE] THE WOUNDS <THE> THESE BETWEEN HANDS YOUR AND HE WILL SAY [THOSE] WHICH I WAS WOUNDED [THE] HOUSE OF FRIENDS MY 6If someone asks him, ‘What are these wounds on your chest*NoteCloseLiterally between your hands?’ he will answer, ‘These are the wounds I received in the house of my friends.’
7O SWORD AWAKE ON SHEPHERD MY AND ON [THE] MAN OF COMMUNITY MY [THE] UTTERANCE OF YAHWEH OF HOSTS STRIKE <OBJ.> THE SHEPHERD AND THEY MAY BE SCATTERED THE SHEEP AND I WILL TURN HAND MY ON THE LITTLE [ONES] The Shepherd Struck, the Sheep Scattered (Matthew 26:31–35; Mark 14:27–31) 7Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd, against the man who is My Companion, declares the LORD of Hosts. 8AND IT WILL BE IN ALL THE LAND [THE] UTTERANCE OF YAHWEH A MOUTH OF TWO IN IT THEY WILL BE CUT OFF THEY WILL PERISH AND THE THIRD [PART] IT WILL BE LEFT IN IT 8And in all the land, declares the LORD, two-thirds will be cut off and perish, but a third will be left in it.
9AND I WILL BRING <OBJ.> THE THIRD [PART] IN THE FIRE AND I WILL REFINE THEM AS REFINES <OBJ.> <THE> SILVER AND I WILL TEST THEM AS TESTS <OBJ.> <THE> GOLD IT IT WILL CALL ON NAME MY AND I I WILL ANSWER <OBJ.> IT I WILL SAY [IS] PEOPLE MY IT AND IT IT WILL SAY YAHWEH [IS] GOD MY 9This third I will bring through the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are My people,’ and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God.’”
