SHEPHERD OF MY <THE> WORTHLESSNESS [WHO] ABANDONS <OF> THE FLOCK A SWORD [WILL BE] ON ARM HIS AND ON [THE] EYE OF RIGHT [SIDE] HIS ARM HIS TOTALLY <WITHER> IT WILL WITHER AND [THE] EYE OF RIGHT [SIDE] HIS CERTAINLY <TO DIM> IT WILL GROW DIM 17Woe to the worthless shepherd, who deserts the flock! May a sword strike his arm and his right eye! May his arm be completely withered and his right eye utterly blinded
[THE] ORACLE OF [THE] WORD OF YAHWEH ON ISRAEL [THE] UTTERANCE OF YAHWEH [WHO] STRETCHED OUT HEAVEN AND [WHO] FOUNDED EARTH AND [WHO] FORMED [THE] SPIRIT OF A HUMAN IN INNER BEING HIS The Coming Deliverance of Jerusalem 1This is the burden of the word of the LORD concerning Israel. Thus declares the LORD, who stretches out the heavens and lays the foundation of the earth, who forms the spirit of man within him:
HERE! I [AM] ABOUT TO MAKE <OBJ.> JERUSALEM A BASIN OF REELING FOR ALL THE PEOPLES ALL AROUND AND ALSO ON JUDAH IT WILL BE IN THE SIEGE ON JERUSALEM 2“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples. Judah will be besieged, as well as Jerusalem.
AND IT WILL BE ON THE DAY <THE> THAT I WILL MAKE <OBJ.> JERUSALEM A STONE OF BURDEN FOR ALL THE PEOPLES ALL [THOSE WHO] CARRY IT SEVERELY <INJURE> THEY WILL INJURE THEMSELVES AND THEY WILL GATHER ON IT ALL [THE] NATIONS OF THE EARTH 3On that day, when all the nations of the earth gather against her, I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who would heave it away will be severely injured.
ON THE DAY <THE> THAT [THE] UTTERANCE OF YAHWEH I WILL STRIKE EVERY HORSE WITH <THE> BEWILDERMENT AND RIDER ITS WITH <THE> MADNESS AND OVER [THE] HOUSE OF JUDAH I WILL OPEN <OBJ.> EYES MY AND EVERY <THE> HORSE OF THE PEOPLES I WILL STRIKE WITH <THE> BLINDNESS 4On that day, declares the LORD, I will strike every horse with panic, and every rider with madness. I will keep a watchful eye on the house of Judah, but I will strike with blindness all the horses of the nations.
AND THEY WILL SAY [THE] CHIEFS OF JUDAH IN HEART THEIR [ARE] STRENGTH OF ME [THE] INHABITANTS OF JERUSALEM BY YAHWEH OF HOSTS GOD THEIR 5Then the leaders of Judah will say in their hearts: ‘The people of Jerusalem are my strength for the LORD of Hosts is their God.’
ON THE DAY <THE> THAT I WILL MAKE <OBJ.> [THE] CHIEFS OF JUDAH LIKE A POT OF FIRE AMONG WOOD<S> AND LIKE A TORCH OF FIRE AMONG CUT GRAIN AND THEY WILL CONSUME ON [THE] RIGHT [SIDE] AND ON [THE] LEFT [SIDE] <OBJ.> ALL THE PEOPLES ALL AROUND AND IT WILL REMAIN JERUSALEM AGAIN IN PLACE ITS IN JERUSALEM 6On that day I will make the clans of Judah like a firepot in a woodpile, like a flaming torch among the sheaves; they will consume all the peoples around them on the right and on the left, while the people of Jerusalem remain secure there.
AND HE WILL SAVE YAHWEH <OBJ.> [THE] TENTS OF JUDAH AT THE FIRST SO THAT NOT IT WILL BE GREAT [THE] SPLENDOR OF [THE] HOUSE OF DAVID AND [THE] SPLENDOR OF [THE] INHABITANT[S] OF JERUSALEM ABOVE JUDAH 7The LORD will save the tents of Judah first, so that the glory of the house of David and of the people of Jerusalem may not be greater than that of Judah.
ON THE DAY <THE> THAT HE WILL DEFEND YAHWEH FOR [THE] INHABITANT[S] OF JERUSALEM AND HE WILL BE THE [ONE WHO] STUMBLES AMONG THEM ON THE DAY <THE> THAT LIKE DAVID AND [THE] HOUSE OF DAVID [WILL BE] LIKE GOD LIKE [THE] ANGEL OF YAHWEH <TO> BEFORE THEM 8On that day the LORD will defend the people of Jerusalem, so that the weakest among them will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the angel*NoteCloseOr Angel of the LORD going before them.
AND IT WILL BE ON THE DAY <THE> THAT I WILL SEEK TO DESTROY <OBJ.> ALL THE NATIONS THAT ARE COMING ON JERUSALEM 9So on that day I will set out to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
AND I WILL POUR OUT ON [THE] HOUSE OF DAVID AND ON [THE] INHABITANT[S] OF JERUSALEM A SPIRIT OF FAVOR AND SUPPLICATIONS AND THEY WILL LOOK TO ME <OBJ.> [THE ONE] WHOM THEY HAVE PIERCED THROUGH AND THEY WILL MOURN ON HIM LIKE MOURNING ON <THE> ONLY [SON] AND THEY WILL SHOW BITTERNESS ON HIM AS SHOWS BITTERNESS ON <THE> FIRSTBORN Mourning the One They Pierced (John 19:31–37) 10Then I will pour out on the house of David and on the people of Jerusalem a spirit*NoteCloseOr the Spirit of grace and prayer, and they will look on Me,*NoteCloseOr to Me the One they have pierced.*NoteCloseCited in John 19:37 They will mourn for Him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for Him as one grieves for a firstborn son.
ON THE DAY <THE> THAT IT WILL BE GREAT THE MOURNING IN JERUSALEM LIKE [THE] MOURNING OF HADAD- RIMMON IN [THE] PLAIN OF MEGIDDO 11On that day the wailing in Jerusalem will be as great as the wailing of Hadad-rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.
AND IT WILL MOURN THE LAND CLANS CLANS <TO> ALONE [THE] CLAN OF [THE] HOUSE OF DAVID <TO> ALONE AND WIVES THEIR <TO> ALONE [THE] CLAN OF [THE] HOUSE OF NATHAN <TO> ALONE AND WIVES THEIR <TO> ALONE 12The land will mourn, each clan on its own: the clan of the house of David and their wives the clan of the house of Nathan and their wives,
[THE] CLAN OF [THE] HOUSE OF LEVI <TO> ALONE AND WIVES THEIR <TO> ALONE [THE] CLAN OF THE SHIMEITE[S] <TO> ALONE AND WIVES THEIR <TO> ALONE 13the clan of the house of Levi and their wives, the clan of Shimei and their wives,
ALL THE CLANS WHICH REMAIN CLANS CLANS <TO> ALONE AND WIVES THEIR <TO> ALONE 14and all the remaining clans and their wives. [’’]
