2AND HE SAID YAHWEH TO THE ACCUSER MAY HE REBUKE YAHWEH <IN> YOU O ACCUSER AND MAY HE REBUKE YAHWEH <IN> YOU WHO HAS CHOSEN <IN> JERUSALEM ¿ NOT [IS] THIS A PIECE OF FIREWOOD PLUCKED OUT FROM A FIRE 2And the LORD said to Satan: “The LORD rebukes you, Satan! Indeed, the LORD, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebukes you! Is not this man a firebrand*NoteCloseThat is, a burning stick snatched from the fire?”
3AND JOSHUA HE WAS CLOTHED GARMENTS FILTHY AND STANDING <TO> BEFORE THE ANGEL 3Now Joshua was dressed in filthy garments as he stood before the angel.
4AND HE ANSWERED AND HE SAID TO THOSE [WHO] WERE STANDING <TO> BEFORE HIM <TO> SAYING REMOVE THE GARMENTS <THE> FILTHY FROM ON <THE> HIM AND HE SAID TO HIM SEE I HAVE TAKEN AWAY FROM ON <THE> YOU INIQUITY YOUR AND I WILL CLOTHE <OBJ.> YOU ROBES 4So the angel said to those standing before him “Take off his filthy clothes!” Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have removed your iniquity and I will clothe you with splendid robes.”
5AND I SAID LET THEM PUT A TURBAN CLEAN ON HEAD HIS AND THEY PUT THE TURBAN <THE> CLEAN ON HEAD HIS AND THEY CLOTHED HIM GARMENTS AND [THE] ANGEL OF YAHWEH [WAS] STANDING 5Then I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So a clean turban was placed on his head, and they clothed him, as the angel of the LORD stood by.
6AND HE ADMONISHED [THE] ANGEL OF YAHWEH <IN> JOSHUA <TO> SAYING 6Then the angel of the LORD gave this charge to Joshua:
7THUS HE SAYS YAHWEH OF HOSTS IF IN WAYS MY YOU WILL WALK AND IF <OBJ.> CHARGE MY YOU WILL KEEP AND ALSO YOU YOU WILL GOVERN <OBJ.> HOUSE MY AND ALSO YOU WILL GUARD <OBJ.> COURTS MY AND I WILL GIVE TO <THE> YOU GOINGS BETWEEN THOSE [WHO] ARE STANDING <THE> THESE 7“This is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘If you walk in My ways and keep My instructions, then you will govern My house and will also have charge of My courts; and I will give you a place among these who are standing here.
8HEAR PLEASE O JOSHUA THE PRIEST <THE> GREAT YOU AND COMPANIONS YOUR WHO SIT <TO> BEFORE YOU FOR [ARE] MEN OF SIGN THEY FOR HERE I [AM] ABOUT TO BRING <OBJ.> SERVANT MY BRANCH 8Hear now, O high priest Joshua, you and your companions seated before you, who are indeed a sign. For behold, I am going to bring My servant, the Branch.
9FOR THERE! THE STONE WHICH I HAVE SET <TO> BEFORE JOSHUA [ARE] ON A STONE ONE SEVEN EYES HERE I [AM] ABOUT TO ENGRAVE ENGRAVING ITS [THE] UTTERANCE OF YAHWEH OF HOSTS AND I WILL REMOVE <OBJ.> [THE] INIQUITY OF THE LAND <THE> THAT IN A DAY ONE 9See the stone I have set before Joshua; on that one stone are seven eyes.*NoteCloseOr facets Behold, I will engrave on it an inscription, declares the LORD of Hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of this land in a single day.
10IN THE DAY <THE> THAT [THE] UTTERANCE OF YAHWEH OF HOSTS YOU WILL INVITE EACH <TO> NEIGHBOR HIS TO UNDER A VINE AND TO UNDER A FIG TREE 10On that day, declares the LORD of Hosts, you will each invite your neighbor to sit under your own vine and fig tree.’”
