33IN ALL THE WAY WHICH HE HAS COMMANDED YAHWEH GOD YOUR <OBJ.> YOU YOU WILL WALK SO THAT YOU MAY LIVE! AND IT WILL BE GOOD FOR YOU AND YOU WILL PROLONG DAYS IN THE LAND WHICH YOU WILL TAKE POSSESSION OF! 33You must walk in all the ways that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.
1AND THIS [IS] THE COMMANDMENT THE STATUTES AND THE JUDGMENTS WHICH HE HAS COMMANDED YAHWEH GOD YOUR TO TEACH <OBJ.> YOU TO OBSERVE IN THE LAND WHERE YOU [ARE] ABOUT TO PASS OVER THERE TOWARDS TO TAKE POSSESSION OF IT The Greatest Commandment (Matthew 22:34–40; Mark 12:28–34) 1These are the commandments and statutes and ordinances that the LORD your God has instructed me to teach you to follow in the land that you are about to enter and possess,
2SO THAT YOU MAY FEAR <OBJ.> YAHWEH GOD YOUR TO KEEP <OBJ.> ALL STATUTES HIS AND COMMANDMENTS HIS WHICH I [AM] COMMANDING YOU YOU AND CHILD YOUR AND [THE] CHILD OF CHILD YOUR ALL [THE] DAYS OF LIFE YOUR AND SO THAT THEY MAY GROW LONG! DAYS YOUR 2so that you and your children and grandchildren may fear the LORD your God all the days of your lives by keeping all His statutes and commandments that I give you, and so that your days may be prolonged.
3AND YOU WILL HEAR O ISRAEL AND YOU WILL TAKE CARE TO OBSERVE [THEM] THAT IT WILL GO WELL FOR YOU AND THAT YOU WILL INCREASE! EXCEEDINGLY JUST AS HE SPOKE YAHWEH [THE] GOD OF ANCESTORS YOUR TO YOU A LAND FLOWING OF MILK AND HONEY 3Hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe them, so that you may prosper and multiply greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you.

6AND THEY WILL BE THE WORDS <THE> THESE WHICH I [AM] COMMANDING YOU THIS DAY ON HEART YOUR 6These words I am commanding you today are to be upon your hearts.
7AND YOU WILL REPEAT THEM TO CHILDREN YOUR AND YOU WILL SPEAK IN THEM WHEN SITTING YOU IN HOUSE YOUR AND WHEN WALKING YOU ON THE ROAD AND WHEN LYING DOWN YOU AND WHEN RISING UP YOU 7And you shall teach them diligently to your children and speak of them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
8AND YOU WILL TIE THEM FOR A SIGN ON HAND YOUR AND THEY WILL BE FOR MARKS BETWEEN EYES YOUR 8Tie them as reminders on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
9AND YOU WILL WRITE THEM ON [THE] DOORPOSTS OF HOUSE YOUR AND ON GATES YOUR 9Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates.
10AND IT WILL BE THAT HE WILL BRING YOU YAHWEH GOD YOUR INTO THE LAND WHICH HE SWORE TO ANCESTORS YOUR TO ABRAHAM TO ISAAC AND TO JACOB TO GIVE TO YOU CITIES LARGE AND GOOD WHICH NOT YOU BUILT 10And when the LORD your God brings you into the land He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, that He would give you— a land with great and splendid cities that you did not build,
11AND HOUSES FULL EVERY GOOD THING WHICH NOT YOU FILLED AND WELLS DUG OUT WHICH NOT YOU DUG VINEYARDS AND OLIVE TREES WHICH NOT YOU PLANTED AND YOU WILL EAT AND YOU WILL BE SATISFIED 11with houses full of every good thing with which you did not fill them, with wells that you did not dig, and with vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant— and when you eat and are satisfied,
12TAKE HEED TO YOURSELF LEST YOU SHOULD FORGET <OBJ.> YAHWEH WHO HE BROUGHT OUT YOU FROM [THE] LAND OF EGYPT FROM A HOUSE OF SLAVES 12be careful not to forget the LORD who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
13<OBJ.> YAHWEH GOD YOUR YOU WILL FEAR AND <OBJ.> HIM YOU WILL SERVE AND IN NAME HIS YOU WILL SWEAR OATHS 13Fear the LORD your God, serve Him only, and take your oaths in His name.*NoteCloseOr serve Him, and take your oaths only in His name; cited in Matthew 4:10 and Luke 4:8
14NOT YOU WILL WALK! AFTER GODS OTHER ANY OF [THE] GODS OF THE PEOPLES WHICH [ARE] AROUND YOU 14Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you.
15FOR [IS] A GOD JEALOUS YAHWEH GOD YOUR IN MIDST YOUR LEST IT SHOULD BURN [THE] ANGER OF YAHWEH GOD YOUR ON YOU AND HE WILL DESTROY YOU FROM ON [THE] SURFACE OF THE GROUND 15For the LORD your God, who is among you, is a jealous God. Otherwise the anger of the LORD your God will be kindled against you, and He will wipe you off the face of the earth.
16NOT YOU WILL PUT TO [THE] TEST <OBJ.> YAHWEH GOD YOUR JUST AS YOU PUT [HIM] TO [THE] TEST AT <THE> MASSAH 16Do not test the LORD your God as you tested Him at Massah.*NoteCloseMassah means testing; see Exodus 17:7; cited in Matthew 4:7 and Luke 4:12.
17CERTAINLY <TO KEEP> YOU WILL KEEP! <OBJ.> [THE] COMMANDMENTS OF YAHWEH GOD YOUR AND TESTIMONIES HIS AND STATUTES HIS WHICH HE HAS COMMANDED YOU 17You are to diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God and the testimonies and statutes He has given you.
18AND YOU WILL DO THE RIGHT AND THE GOOD IN [THE] EYES OF YAHWEH SO THAT IT MAY GO WELL FOR YOU AND YOU WILL GO AND YOU WILL TAKE POSSESSION OF <OBJ.> THE LAND <THE> GOOD WHICH HE SWORE YAHWEH TO ANCESTORS YOUR 18Do what is right and good in the sight of the LORD, so that it may be well with you and that you may enter and possess the good land that the LORD your God swore to give your fathers,
19TO DRIVE OUT <OBJ.> ALL ENEMIES YOUR FROM BEFORE YOU JUST AS HE HAS SPOKEN YAHWEH 19driving out all your enemies before you, as the LORD has said.
20IF HE WILL ASK YOU CHILD YOUR TOMORROW <TO> SAYING WHAT? [ARE] THE TESTIMONIES AND THE STATUTES AND THE JUDGMENTS WHICH HE COMMANDED YAHWEH GOD OUR <OBJ.> YOU Teach Your Children 20In the future, when your son asks, “What is the meaning of the decrees and statutes and ordinances that the LORD our God has commanded you?”
21AND YOU WILL SAY TO CHILD YOUR SLAVES WE WERE OF PHARAOH IN EGYPT AND HE BROUGHT OUT US YAHWEH FROM EGYPT BY A HAND STRONG 21then you are to tell him, “We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
22AND HE GAVE YAHWEH SIGNS AND WONDERS GREAT AND BAD ON EGYPT ON PHARAOH AND ON ALL HOUSEHOLD HIS TO EYES OUR 22Before our eyes the LORD inflicted great and devastating signs and wonders on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on all his household.
23AND <OBJ.> US HE BROUGHT OUT FROM THERE SO AS TO BRING <OBJ.> US TO GIVE TO US <OBJ.> THE LAND WHICH HE SWORE TO ANCESTORS OUR 23But He brought us out from there to lead us in and give us the land that He had sworn to our fathers.
24AND HE COMMANDED US YAHWEH TO OBSERVE <OBJ.> ALL THE STATUTES <THE> THESE TO FEAR <OBJ.> YAHWEH GOD OUR FOR GOOD OF US ALL THE DAYS TO PRESERVE ALIVE US AS THE DAY <THE> THIS 24And the LORD commanded us to observe all these statutes and to fear the LORD our God, that we may always be prosperous and preserved, as we are to this day.
25AND RIGHTEOUSNESS IT WILL BELONG TO US THAT WE WILL TAKE CARE TO OBSERVE <OBJ.> ALL THE COMMANDMENT <THE> THIS <TO> BEFORE YAHWEH GOD OUR JUST AS HE COMMANDED US 25And if we are careful to observe every one of these commandments before the LORD our God, as He has commanded us, then that will be our righteousness.”
