23AND THEY WILL COMFORT <OBJ.> YOU IF YOU WILL SEE <OBJ.> CONDUCT THEIR AND <OBJ.> PRACTICES THEIR AND YOU WILL KNOW THAT NOT WITHOUT CAUSE I HAVE DONE <OBJ.> ALL THAT I HAVE DONE IN IT [THE] UTTERANCE OF [THE] LORD YAHWEH 23They will bring you consolation when you see their conduct and actions, and you will know that it was not without cause that I have done all these things within it,’ declares the Lord GOD.”
1AND IT CAME [THE] WORD OF YAHWEH TO ME <TO> SAYING Jerusalem the Useless Vine 1Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
2O SON OF HUMANKIND WHAT? IS IT [THE] WOOD OF THE VINE MORE THAN ANY TREE THE VINE BRANCH WHICH IT IS AMONG [THE] TREES OF THE FOREST 2“Son of man, how does the wood of the vine surpass any other branch among the trees in the forest?
3¿ IS IT TAKEN FROM IT WOOD TO MAKE INTO A PRODUCT OR? DO PEOPLE TAKE FROM IT A PEG TO HANG ON IT ANY VESSEL 3Can wood be taken from it to make something useful? Or can one make from it a peg on which to hang utensils?
4THERE! TO THE FIRE IT IS GIVEN FOR FUEL <OBJ.> [THE] TWO ENDS ITS IT CONSUMES THE FIRE AND [THE] MIDDLE OF IT IT IS CHARRED ¿ IS IT SUCCESSFUL FOR A PRODUCT 4No, it is cast into the fire for fuel. The fire devours both ends, and the middle is charred. Can it be useful for anything?
5THERE! WHEN WAS IT COMPLETE NOT IT WAS MADE INTO A PRODUCT INDEED? IF A FIRE IT HAS CONSUMED IT AND IT HAS BEEN CHARRED AND WILL IT BE MADE? AGAIN INTO A PRODUCT 5Even when it was whole, it could not be made useful. How much less can it ever be useful when the fire has consumed it and charred it!
6<TO> THEREFORE THUS HE SAYS [THE] LORD YAHWEH JUST AS [THE] WOOD OF THE VINE AMONG [THE] TREE[S] OF THE FOREST WHICH I HAVE GIVEN IT TO THE FIRE FOR FUEL SO I HAVE GIVEN <OBJ.> [THE] INHABITANTS OF JERUSALEM 6Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Like the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so I will give up the people of Jerusalem.
7AND I WILL SET <OBJ.> FACE MY ON THEM FROM THE FIRE THEY HAVE COME OUT AND THE FIRE IT WILL CONSUME THEM AND YOU WILL KNOW THAT I [AM] YAHWEH WHEN SET I <OBJ.> FACE MY ON THEM 7And I will set My face against them. Though they may have escaped the fire, yet another fire will consume them. And when I set My face against them, you will know that I am the LORD.
8AND I WILL MAKE <OBJ.> THE LAND A DESOLATION BECAUSE THEY HAVE ACTED UNFAITHFULLY UNFAITHFULNESS [THE] UTTERANCE OF [THE] LORD YAHWEH 8Thus I will make the land desolate, because they have acted unfaithfully declares the Lord GOD.”
