63AND <OBJ.> THE JEBUSITE[S] [THE] INHABITANTS OF JERUSALEM NOT THEY WERE ABLE [THE] DESCENDANTS OF JUDAH TO DISPOSSESS THEM AND HE HAS DWELT THE JEBUSITE[S] WITH [THE] DESCENDANTS OF JUDAH IN JERUSALEM UNTIL THE DAY <THE> THIS 63But the descendants of Judah could not drive out the Jebusites living in Jerusalem. So to this day the Jebusites live there among the descendants of Judah.
1AND IT WENT OUT THE LOT OF [THE] DESCENDANTS OF JOSEPH FROM [THE] JORDAN OF JERICHO TO [THE] WATERS OF JERICHO EAST -WARD THE WILDERNESS GOING UP FROM JERICHO IN THE HILL COUNTRY BETH- -EL Ephraim’s Inheritance 1The allotment for the descendants of Joseph extended from the Jordan at Jericho to the waters of Jericho on the east, through the wilderness that goes up from Jericho into the hill country of Bethel.
2AND IT GOES OUT FROM BETH- -EL LUZ TOWARDS AND IT PASSES ON TO [THE] BORDER OF THE ARKITE[S] ATAROTH 2It went on from Bethel (that is, Luz)*NoteCloseLXX (See also Joshua 18:13); Hebrew from Bethel to Luz and proceeded to the border of the Archites in Ataroth.
3AND IT GOES DOWN WEST -WARD TO [THE] BORDER OF THE JAPHLETITE[S] TO [THE] BORDER OF BETH HORON LOWER AND TO GEZER AND THEY ARE EXTREMITIES ITS [THE] SEA TOWARDS 3Then it descended westward to the border of the Japhletites as far as the border of Lower Beth-horon and on to Gezer, and it ended at the Sea.*NoteCloseThat is, the Mediterranean Sea, also called the Great Sea; also in verses 6 and 8
4AND THEY RECEIVED THEIR INHERITANCE [THE] DESCENDANTS OF JOSEPH MANASSEH AND EPHRAIM 4So Ephraim and Manasseh, the sons of Joseph, received their inheritance.
5AND IT WAS [THE] TERRITORY OF [THE] DESCENDANTS OF EPHRAIM TO CLANS THEIR AND IT WAS [THE] BORDER OF INHERITANCE THEIR EAST -WARD ATAROTH ADDAR TO BETH HORON UPPER 5This was the territory of the descendants of Ephraim by their clans: The border of their inheritance went from Ataroth-addar in the east to Upper Beth-horon
6AND IT GOES OUT THE BORDER THE SEA TOWARDS <THE> MICMETHATH [IS] FROM [THE] NORTH AND IT TURNS THE BORDER EAST -WARD TAANATH SHILOH AND IT PASSES BY <OBJ.> IT FROM [THE] EAST <TO> JANOAH 6and out toward the Sea. From Michmethath on the north it turned eastward toward Taanath-shiloh and passed by it to Janoah on the east.
7AND IT GOES DOWN FROM JANOAH ATAROTH AND NAARAH TOWARDS AND IT TOUCHES <ON> JERICHO AND IT GOES OUT THE JORDAN 7From Janoah it went down to Ataroth and Naarah, and then reached Jericho and came out at the Jordan.
8FROM TAPPUAH IT GOES THE BORDER WEST -WARD [THE] WADI OF KANAH AND THEY ARE EXTREMITIES ITS THE SEA TOWARDS THIS [WAS] [THE] INHERITANCE OF [THE] TRIBE OF [THE] DESCENDANTS OF EPHRAIM TO CLANS THEIR 8From Tappuah the border went westward to the Brook of Kanah and ended at the Sea. This was the inheritance of the clans of the tribe of Ephraim,
9AND THE CITIES THE SEPARATE PLACES FOR [THE] DESCENDANTS OF EPHRAIM [ARE] IN [THE] MIDST OF [THE] INHERITANCE OF [THE] DESCENDANTS OF MANASSEH ALL THE CITIES AND VILLAGES THEIR 9along with all the cities and villages set apart for the descendants of Ephraim within the inheritance of Manasseh.
10AND NOT THEY DISPOSSESSED <OBJ.> THE CANAANITE[S] WHO DWELT IN GEZER AND HE HAS DWELT THE CANAANITE[S] IN [THE] MIDST OF EPHRAIM UNTIL THE DAY <THE> THIS AND HE BECAME <INTO> A SLAVE GANG OF LABORING 10But they did not drive out the Canaanites who lived in Gezer. So the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites to this day, but they are forced laborers.
