38WHICH HE COMMANDED YAHWEH <OBJ.> MOSES ON [THE] MOUNTAIN OF SINAI ON [THE] DAY COMMANDED HE <OBJ.> [THE] PEOPLE OF ISRAEL TO PRESENT <OBJ.> PRESENTS THEIR TO YAHWEH IN [THE] WILDERNESS OF SINAI 38which the LORD gave Moses on Mount Sinai on the day He commanded the Israelites to present their offerings to the LORD in the Wilderness of Sinai.
1AND HE SPOKE YAHWEH TO MOSES <TO> SAYING Moses Consecrates Aaron and His Sons (Exodus 29:1–9) 1Then the LORD said to Moses,
2TAKE <OBJ.> AARON AND <OBJ.> SONS HIS WITH HIM AND <OBJ.> THE GARMENTS AND <OBJ.> [THE] OIL OF <THE> ANOINTING AND <OBJ.> [THE] BULL OF THE SIN OFFERING AND <OBJ.> [THE] TWO THE RAMS AND <OBJ.> [THE] BASKET OF <THE> UNLEAVENED BREAD<S> 2“Take Aaron and his sons their garments, the anointing oil, the bull of the sin offering, the two rams, and the basket of unleavened bread,
3AND <OBJ.> ALL THE CONGREGATION ASSEMBLE TO [THE] ENTRANCE OF [THE] TENT OF MEETING 3and assemble the whole congregation at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.”
4AND HE DID MOSES JUST AS HE HAD COMMANDED YAHWEH <OBJ.> HIM AND IT ASSEMBLED THE CONGREGATION TO [THE] ENTRANCE OF [THE] TENT OF MEETING 4So Moses did as the LORD had commanded him, and the assembly gathered at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
5AND HE SAID MOSES TO THE CONGREGATION THIS [IS] THE WORD WHICH HE HAS COMMANDED YAHWEH TO DO 5And Moses said to them, “This is what the LORD has commanded to be done.”
6AND HE PRESENTED MOSES <OBJ.> AARON AND <OBJ.> SONS HIS AND HE WASHED <OBJ.> THEM WITH <THE> WATER 6Then Moses presented Aaron and his sons and washed them with water.
7AND HE PUT ON HIM <OBJ.> THE TUNIC AND HE GIRDED <OBJ.> HIM WITH THE SASH AND HE CLOTHED <OBJ.> HIM <OBJ.> THE ROBE AND HE PUT ON HIM <OBJ.> THE EPHOD AND HE GIRDED <OBJ.> HIM WITH [THE] GIRDLE OF THE EPHOD AND HE GIRDED [THE] EPHOD TO <THE> HIM WITH <THE> IT 7He put the tunic on Aaron, tied the sash around him, clothed him with the robe, and put the ephod on him. He tied the woven band of the ephod around him and fastened it to him
8AND HE PLACED ON HIM <OBJ.> THE BREASTPIECE AND HE PUT INTO THE BREASTPIECE <OBJ.> THE URIM AND <OBJ.> THE THUMMIM 8Then he put the breastpiece on him and placed the Urim and Thummim*NoteCloseLiterally Lights and Perfections in the breastpiece.
9AND HE PLACED <OBJ.> THE TURBAN ON HEAD HIS AND HE PLACED ON THE TURBAN TO [THE] FRONT OF FACE HIS <OBJ.> [THE] PLATE OF <THE> GOLD [THE] CROWN OF <THE> HOLINESS JUST AS HE HAD COMMANDED YAHWEH <OBJ.> MOSES 9Moses also put the turban on Aaron’s head and set the gold plate, the holy diadem, on the front of the turban, as the LORD had commanded him.
10AND HE TOOK MOSES <OBJ.> [THE] OIL OF <THE> ANOINTING AND HE ANOINTED <OBJ.> THE TABERNACLE AND <OBJ.> ALL THAT [WAS] IN <THE> IT AND HE SET APART AS HOLY <OBJ.> THEM 10Next, Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle and everything in it; and so he consecrated them.
11AND HE SPATTERED SOME OF IT ON THE ALTAR SEVEN TIMES AND HE ANOINTED <OBJ.> THE ALTAR AND <OBJ.> ALL UTENSILS ITS AND <OBJ.> THE LAVER AND <OBJ.> BASE ITS TO SET APART AS HOLY THEM 11He sprinkled some of the oil on the altar seven times, anointing the altar and all its utensils, and the basin with its stand, to consecrate them.
12AND HE POURED SOME OF [THE] OIL OF <THE> ANOINTING ON [THE] HEAD OF AARON AND HE ANOINTED <OBJ.> HIM TO SET APART AS HOLY HIM 12He also poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron’s head and anointed him to consecrate him.
13AND HE PRESENTED MOSES <OBJ.> [THE] SONS OF AARON AND HE CLOTHED THEM TUNICS AND HE GIRDED <OBJ.> THEM A SASH AND HE BOUND ON TO <THE> THEM HEADDRESSES JUST AS HE HAD COMMANDED YAHWEH <OBJ.> MOSES 13Then Moses presented Aaron’s sons, put tunics on them, wrapped sashes around them, and tied headbands on them, just as the LORD had commanded him.
14AND HE BROUGHT NEAR <OBJ.> [THE] BULL OF THE SIN OFFERING AND HE LEANED AARON AND SONS HIS <OBJ.> HANDS THEIR ON [THE] HEAD OF [THE] BULL OF THE SIN OFFERING The Priests’ Sin Offering 14Moses then brought the bull near for the sin offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.
15AND HE CUT [THE] THROAT OF [IT] AND HE TOOK MOSES <OBJ.> THE BLOOD AND HE PUT [IT] ON [THE] HORNS OF THE ALTAR ALL AROUND WITH FINGER HIS AND HE CLEANSED FROM SIN <OBJ.> THE ALTAR AND <OBJ.> THE BLOOD HE POURED TO [THE] BASE OF THE ALTAR AND HE SET APART AS HOLY IT TO MAKE ATONEMENT ON IT 15Moses slaughtered the bull, took some of the blood, and applied it with his finger to all four horns of the altar, purifying the altar. He poured out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar and consecrated it so that atonement could be made on it.
16AND HE TOOK <OBJ.> ALL THE FAT WHICH [WAS] ON THE ENTRAILS AND <OBJ.> [THE] LOBE OF THE LIVER AND <OBJ.> [THE] TWO THE KIDNEYS AND <OBJ.> FAT THEIR AND HE MADE [THEM] SMOKE MOSES THE ALTAR TOWARDS 16Moses also took all the fat that was on the entrails, the lobe of the liver, and both kidneys and their fat, and burned it all on the altar.
17AND <OBJ.> THE BULL AND <OBJ.> HIDE ITS AND <OBJ.> FLESH ITS AND <OBJ.> OFFAL ITS HE BURNED WITH <THE> FIRE FROM [THE] OUTSIDE OF THE CAMP JUST AS HE HAD COMMANDED YAHWEH <OBJ.> MOSES 17But the bull with its hide, flesh, and dung he burned outside the camp, as the LORD had commanded him.
18AND HE PRESENTED <OBJ.> [THE] RAM OF THE BURNT OFFERING AND THEY LEANED AARON AND SONS HIS <OBJ.> HANDS THEIR ON [THE] HEAD OF THE RAM The Priests’ Burnt Offering 18Then Moses presented the ram for the burnt offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.
19AND HE CUT [THE] THROAT OF [IT] AND HE SPRINKLED MOSES <OBJ.> THE BLOOD ON THE ALTAR ALL AROUND 19Moses slaughtered the ram and splattered the blood on all sides of the altar.
20AND <OBJ.> THE RAM HE CUT IN PIECES INTO PIECES ITS AND HE MADE SMOKE MOSES <OBJ.> THE HEAD AND <OBJ.> THE PIECES AND <OBJ.> THE SUET 20He cut the ram into pieces and burned the head, the pieces, and the fat.
21AND <OBJ.> THE ENTRAILS AND <OBJ.> THE LEGS HE WASHED WITH <THE> WATER AND HE MADE SMOKE MOSES <OBJ.> ALL THE RAM THE ALTAR TOWARDS [WAS] A BURNT OFFERING IT TO AN ODOR OF SOOTHING [WAS] A FIRE OFFERING IT TO YAHWEH JUST AS HE HAD COMMANDED YAHWEH <OBJ.> MOSES 21He washed the entrails and legs with water and burned the entire ram on the altar as a burnt offering, a pleasing aroma, a food offering to the LORD, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
22AND HE PRESENTED <OBJ.> THE RAM <THE> SECOND [THE] RAM OF <THE> INSTALLATION OFFERING<S> AND THEY LEANED AARON AND SONS HIS <OBJ.> HANDS THEIR ON [THE] HEAD OF THE RAM The Ram of Ordination (Exodus 29:10–30) 22After that, Moses presented the other ram, the ram of ordination, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.
23AND HE CUT [THE] THROAT OF [IT] AND HE TOOK MOSES SOME OF BLOOD ITS AND HE PUT [IT] ON [THE] LOBE OF [THE] EAR OF AARON <THE> RIGHT AND ON [THE] THUMB OF HAND HIS <THE> RIGHT AND ON [THE] BIG TOE OF FOOT HIS <THE> RIGHT 23Moses slaughtered the ram and took some of its blood and put it on Aaron’s right earlobe, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.
24AND HE PRESENTED <OBJ.> [THE] SONS OF AARON AND HE PUT MOSES SOME OF THE BLOOD ON [THE] LOBE OF EAR THEIR <THE> RIGHT AND ON [THE] THUMB OF HAND THEIR <THE> RIGHT AND ON [THE] BIG TOE OF FOOT THEIR <THE> RIGHT AND HE SPRINKLED MOSES <OBJ.> THE BLOOD ON THE ALTAR ALL AROUND 24Moses also presented Aaron’s sons and put some of the blood on their right earlobes, on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the big toes of their right feet. Then he splattered the blood on all sides of the altar.
25AND HE TOOK <OBJ.> THE FAT AND <OBJ.> THE FAT TAIL AND <OBJ.> ALL THE FAT WHICH [WAS] ON THE ENTRAILS AND <OBJ.> [THE] LOBE OF THE LIVER AND <OBJ.> [THE] TWO THE KIDNEYS AND <OBJ.> FAT THEIR AND <OBJ.> [THE] THIGH OF THE RIGHT 25And Moses took the fat— the fat tail, all the fat that was on the entrails, the lobe of the liver, and both kidneys with their fat— as well as the right thigh.
26AND FROM [THE] BASKET OF <THE> UNLEAVENED BREAD<S> WHICH [WAS] <TO> BEFORE YAHWEH HE TOOK A ROUND PERFORATED BREAD OF UNLEAVENED BREAD<S> ONE AND A ROUND PERFORATED BREAD OF BREAD OF OIL ONE AND A THIN BREAD ONE AND HE PLACED [THEM] ON THE FAT<S> AND ON [THE] THIGH OF THE RIGHT 26And from the basket of unleavened bread that was before the LORD, he took one cake of unleavened bread, one cake of bread made with oil, and one wafer, and he placed them on the fat portions and on the right thigh.
27AND HE PUT <OBJ.> <THE> EVERYTHING ON [THE] PALMS OF AARON AND ON [THE] PALMS OF SONS HIS AND HE WAVED <OBJ.> THEM A WAVE-OFFERING <TO> BEFORE YAHWEH 27He put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons and waved them before the LORD as a wave offering.
28AND HE TOOK MOSES <OBJ.> THEM FROM ON PALMS THEIR AND HE MADE [THEM] SMOKE THE ALTAR TOWARDS ON THE BURNT OFFERING [WERE] INSTALLATION OFFERINGS THEY TO AN ODOR OF SOOTHING [WAS] A FIRE OFFERING IT TO YAHWEH 28Then Moses took these from their hands and burned them on the altar with the burnt offering. This was an ordination offering, a pleasing aroma, a food offering to the LORD.
29AND HE TOOK MOSES <OBJ.> THE BREAST AND HE WAVED IT A WAVE-OFFERING <TO> BEFORE YAHWEH FROM [THE] RAM OF <THE> INSTALLATION OFFERING<S> TO MOSES IT BELONGED TO A PORTION JUST AS HE HAD COMMANDED YAHWEH <OBJ.> MOSES 29He also took the breast— Moses’ portion of the ram of ordination— and waved it before the LORD as a wave offering, as the LORD had commanded him.
30AND HE TOOK MOSES SOME OF [THE] OIL OF <THE> ANOINTING AND SOME OF THE BLOOD WHICH [WAS] ON THE ALTAR AND HE SPATTERED [IT] ON AARON ON GARMENTS HIS AND ON SONS HIS AND ON [THE] GARMENTS OF SONS HIS WITH HIM AND HE SET APART AS HOLY <OBJ.> AARON <OBJ.> GARMENTS HIS AND <OBJ.> SONS HIS AND <OBJ.> [THE] GARMENTS OF SONS HIS WITH HIM 30Next, Moses took some of the anointing oil and some of the blood that was on the altar and sprinkled them on Aaron and his garments, and on his sons and their garments. So he consecrated Aaron and his garments, as well as Aaron’s sons and their garments.
31AND HE SAID MOSES TO AARON AND TO SONS HIS BOIL <OBJ.> THE MEAT [THE] ENTRANCE OF [THE] TENT OF MEETING AND THERE YOU WILL EAT <OBJ.> IT AND <OBJ.> THE BREAD WHICH [IS] IN [THE] BASKET OF THE INSTALLATION OFFERING<S> JUST AS I COMMANDED <TO> SAYING AARON AND SONS HIS THEY WILL EAT IT 31And Moses said to Aaron and his sons, “Boil the meat at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting and eat it there with the bread that is in the basket of ordination offerings, as I commanded, saying, ‘Aaron and his sons are to eat it.’
32AND THE REMAINDER IN THE MEAT AND IN THE BREAD WITH <THE> FIRE YOU WILL BURN 32Then you must burn up the remainder of the meat and bread.
33AND FROM [THE] ENTRANCE OF [THE] TENT OF MEETING NOT YOU MUST GO OUT SEVEN DAYS UNTIL [THE] DAY ARE COMPLETED [THE] DAYS OF INSTALLATION YOUR FOR SEVEN DAYS HE WILL FILL <OBJ.> HAND YOUR 33You must not go outside the entrance to the Tent of Meeting for seven days, until the days of your ordination are complete; for it will take seven days to ordain you.
34JUST AS SOMEONE HAS DONE ON THE DAY <THE> THIS HE HAS COMMANDED YAHWEH TO DO TO MAKE ATONEMENT ON YOU 34What has been done today has been commanded by the LORD in order to make atonement on your behalf.
35AND [THE] ENTRANCE OF [THE] TENT OF MEETING YOU WILL REMAIN BY DAY AND NIGHT SEVEN DAYS AND YOU WILL KEEP <OBJ.> [THE] DUTY OF YAHWEH AND NOT YOU WILL DIE FOR THUS I HAVE BEEN COMMANDED 35You must remain at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting day and night for seven days and keep the LORD’s charge so that you will not die, for this is what I have been commanded.”
36AND HE DID AARON AND SONS HIS <OBJ.> ALL THE THINGS WHICH HE HAD COMMANDED YAHWEH BY [THE] HAND OF MOSES 36So Aaron and his sons did everything the LORD had commanded through Moses.
