42AND NOBAH HE WENT AND HE CAPTURED <OBJ.> KENATH AND <OBJ.> DAUGHTERS ITS AND HE CALLED <TO> <THE> IT NOBAH BY OWN NAME HIS 42And Nobah went and captured Kenath and its villages and called it Nobah, after his own name.
1THESE [ARE] [THE] SETTINGS OUT OF [THE] PEOPLE OF ISRAEL WHO THEY CAME OUT FROM [THE] LAND OF EGYPT TO MILITARY GROUPS THEIR BY [THE] HAND OF MOSES AND AARON Forty-Two Journeys of the Israelites 1These are the journeys of the Israelites when they came out of the land of Egypt by their divisions under the leadership of Moses and Aaron.
2AND HE WROTE DOWN MOSES <OBJ.> POINTS OF DEPARTURE THEIR TO SETTINGS OUT THEIR ON [THE] MOUTH OF YAHWEH AND THESE [ARE] SETTINGS OUT THEIR TO POINTS OF DEPARTURE THEIR 2At the LORD’s command, Moses recorded the stages of their journey. These are the stages listed by their starting points:
3AND THEY SET OUT FROM RAMESES IN THE MONTH <THE> FIRST ON [THE] FIF- TEEN DAY OF THE MONTH <THE> FIRST FROM [THE] NEXT DAY OF THE PASSOVER THEY WENT OUT [THE] PEOPLE OF ISRAEL WITH A HAND RAISED TO [THE] EYES ALL EGYPT 3On the fifteenth day of the first month, on the day after the Passover, the Israelites set out from Rameses. They marched out defiantly*NoteCloseOr marched out boldly; literally marched out with an upraised hand in full view of all the Egyptians,
4AND EGYPT [WERE] BURYING <OBJ.> [THOSE] WHOM HE HAD STRUCK DOWN YAHWEH AMONG <THE> THEM EVERY FIRSTBORN AND ON GODS THEIR HE HAD DONE YAHWEH ACTS OF JUDGMENT 4who were burying all their firstborn, whom the LORD had struck down among them; for the LORD had executed judgment against their gods.
5AND THEY SET OUT [THE] PEOPLE OF ISRAEL FROM RAMESES AND THEY ENCAMPED AT SUCCOTH 5The Israelites set out from Rameses and camped at Succoth.
6AND THEY SET OUT FROM SUCCOTH AND THEY ENCAMPED AT ETHAM WHICH [IS] ON [THE] EDGE OF THE WILDERNESS 6They set out from Succoth and camped at Etham, on the edge of the wilderness.
7AND THEY SET OUT FROM ETHAM AND HE TURNED BACK TO PI- HAHIROTH WHICH [IS] ON [THE] FACE OF BAAL- ZEPHON AND THEY ENCAMPED <TO> BEFORE MIGDOL 7They set out from Etham and turned back to Pi-hahiroth, opposite Baal-zephon, and they camped near Migdol.
8AND THEY SET OUT FROM BEFORE <THE> HAHIROTH AND THEY PASSED IN [THE] MIDDLE OF THE SEA THE WILDERNESS TOWARDS AND THEY WENT A JOURNEY OF THREE DAYS IN [THE] WILDERNESS OF ETHAM AND THEY ENCAMPED AT MARAH 8They set out from Pi-hahiroth*NoteCloseSome Hebrew manuscripts, SP, and Vulgate; see verse 7; most MT manuscripts Hahiroth and crossed through the sea, into the wilderness, and they journeyed three days into the Wilderness of Etham and camped at Marah.
9AND THEY SET OUT FROM MARAH AND THEY CAME ELIM TOWARDS AND [WERE] AT ELIM TWO [PLUS] TEN SPRINGS OF WATER AND SEVENTY PALM TREES AND THEY ENCAMPED THERE 9They set out from Marah and came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped there.
10AND THEY SET OUT FROM ELIM AND THEY ENCAMPED AT [THE] SEA OF REED[S] 10They set out from Elim and camped by the Red Sea.*NoteCloseOr the Sea of Reeds; also in verse 11
11AND THEY SET OUT FROM [THE] SEA OF REED[S] AND THEY ENCAMPED IN [THE] WILDERNESS OF SIN 11They set out from the Red Sea and camped in the Desert of Sin.*NoteCloseThe geographical name Sin is related to Sinai and should not be mistaken for the English word sin; also in verse 12.
12AND THEY SET OUT FROM [THE] WILDERNESS OF SIN AND THEY ENCAMPED AT DOPHKA 12They set out from the Desert of Sin and camped at Dophkah.
13AND THEY SET OUT FROM DOPHKA AND THEY ENCAMPED AT ALUSH 13They set out from Dophkah and camped at Alush.
14AND THEY SET OUT FROM ALUSH AND THEY ENCAMPED AT REPHIDIM AND NOT IT BELONGED THERE WATER TO THE PEOPLE TO DRINK 14They set out from Alush and camped at Rephidim, where there was no water for the people to drink.
15AND THEY SET OUT FROM REPHIDIM AND THEY ENCAMPED IN [THE] WILDERNESS OF SINAI 15They set out from Rephidim and camped in the Wilderness of Sinai.
16AND THEY SET OUT FROM [THE] WILDERNESS OF SINAI AND THEY ENCAMPED AT KIBROTH HATTAAVAH 16They set out from the Wilderness of Sinai and camped at Kibroth-hattaavah.
17AND THEY SET OUT FROM KIBROTH HATTAAVAH AND THEY ENCAMPED AT HAZEROTH 17They set out from Kibroth-hattaavah and camped at Hazeroth.

25AND THEY SET OUT FROM HARADAH AND THEY ENCAMPED AT MAKHELOTH 25They set out from Haradah and camped at Makheloth.
26AND THEY SET OUT FROM MAKHELOTH AND THEY ENCAMPED AT TAHATH 26They set out from Makheloth and camped at Tahath.

32AND THEY SET OUT FROM BENE- JAAKAN AND THEY ENCAMPED AT HOR- HAGGIDGAD 32They set out from Bene-jaakan and camped at Hor-haggidgad.
33AND THEY SET OUT FROM HOR- HAGGIDGAD AND THEY ENCAMPED AT JOTBATHAH 33They set out from Hor-haggidgad and camped at Jotbathah.
34AND THEY SET OUT FROM JOTBATHAH AND THEY ENCAMPED AT ABRONAH 34They set out from Jotbathah and camped at Abronah.
35AND THEY SET OUT FROM ABRONAH AND THEY ENCAMPED AT EZION GEBER 35They set out from Abronah and camped at Ezion-geber.
36AND THEY SET OUT FROM EZION GEBER AND THEY ENCAMPED IN [THE] WILDERNESS OF ZIN THAT [IS] KADESH 36They set out from Ezion-geber and camped at Kadesh in the Wilderness of Zin.
37AND THEY SET OUT FROM KADESH AND THEY ENCAMPED AT HOR THE MOUNTAIN ON [THE] BORDER OF [THE] LAND OF EDOM 37They set out from Kadesh and camped at Mount Hor, on the outskirts of the land of Edom.
38AND HE WENT UP AARON THE PRIEST TO HOR THE MOUNTAIN ON [THE] MOUTH OF YAHWEH AND HE DIED THERE IN [THE] YEAR <THE> FORTY OF [THE] COMING OUT OF [THE] PEOPLE OF ISRAEL FROM [THE] LAND OF EGYPT IN THE MONTH <THE> FIFTH ON [DAY] ONE OF THE MONTH 38At the LORD’s command, Aaron the priest climbed Mount Hor and died there on the first day of the fifth month, in the fortieth year after the Israelites had come out of the land of Egypt.
39AND AARON [WAS] A SON OF THREE AND TWENTY AND ONE HUNDRED YEAR[S] WHEN DYING HE ON HOR THE MOUNTAIN 39Aaron was 123 years old when he died on Mount Hor.
40AND HE HEARD THE CANAANITE [THE] KING OF ARAD AND HE [WAS] DWELLING IN THE NEGEV IN [THE] LAND OF CANAAN WHEN CAME [THE] PEOPLE OF ISRAEL 40Now the Canaanite king of Arad, who lived in the Negev in the land of Canaan, heard that the Israelites were coming.
41AND THEY SET OUT FROM HOR THE MOUNTAIN AND THEY ENCAMPED AT ZALMONAH 41And the Israelites set out from Mount Hor and camped at Zalmonah.
42AND THEY SET OUT FROM ZALMONAH AND THEY ENCAMPED AT PUNAN 42They set out from Zalmonah and camped at Punon.
43AND THEY SET OUT FROM PUNAN AND THEY ENCAMPED AT OBOTH 43They set out from Punon and camped at Oboth.
44AND THEY SET OUT FROM OBOTH AND THEY ENCAMPED AT IYE <THE> ABARIM ON [THE] BORDER OF MOAB 44They set out from Oboth and camped at Iye-abarim on the border of Moab.
45AND THEY SET OUT FROM IIM AND THEY ENCAMPED AT DIBON- GAD 45They set out from Iyim*NoteCloseIyim is another name for Iye-abarim; see verse 44. and camped at Dibon-gad.
46AND THEY SET OUT FROM DIBON- GAD AND THEY ENCAMPED AT ALMON- DIBLATHAIM 46They set out from Dibon-gad and camped at Almon-diblathaim.
47AND THEY SET OUT FROM ALMON- DIBLATHAIM AND THEY ENCAMPED IN [THE] MOUNTAINS OF THE ABARIM <TO> BEFORE NEBO 47They set out from Almon-diblathaim and camped in the mountains of Abarim*NoteCloseOr the mountains beyond the river; also in verse 48 facing Nebo.
48AND THEY SET OUT FROM [THE] MOUNTAINS OF THE ABARIM AND THEY ENCAMPED IN [THE] PLAINS OF MOAB AT [THE] JORDAN OF JERICHO 48They set out from the mountains of Abarim and camped on the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho.
49AND THEY ENCAMPED AT THE JORDAN FROM BETH <THE> JESHIMOTH TO ABEL- SHITTIM IN [THE] PLAINS OF MOAB 49And there on the plains of Moab they camped by the Jordan, from Beth-jeshimoth to Abel-shittim.*NoteCloseOr the Meadow of the Acacias; that is, an area in the lowlands of Moab
50AND HE SPOKE YAHWEH TO MOSES IN [THE] PLAINS OF MOAB AT [THE] JORDAN OF JERICHO <TO> SAYING Instructions for Occupying Canaan 50On the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho, the LORD said to Moses,
51SPEAK TO [THE] PEOPLE OF ISRAEL AND YOU WILL SAY TO THEM IF YOU [ARE] ABOUT TO PASS OVER <OBJ.> THE JORDAN INTO [THE] LAND OF CANAAN 51“Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan,
52AND YOU WILL DISPOSSESS <OBJ.> ALL [THE] INHABITANTS OF THE LAND FROM BEFORE YOU AND YOU WILL DESTROY <OBJ.> ALL CARVED IMAGES THEIR AND <OBJ.> ALL [THE] IMAGES OF MOLTEN METAL THEIR YOU WILL DESTROY AND <OBJ.> ALL HIGH PLACES THEIR YOU WILL DEMOLISH 52you must drive out before you all the inhabitants of the land, destroy all their carved images and cast idols, and demolish all their high places.
53AND YOU WILL TAKE POSSESSION OF <OBJ.> THE LAND AND YOU WILL DWELL IN <THE> IT FOR TO <THE> YOU I HAVE GIVEN <OBJ.> THE LAND TO TAKE POSSESSION OF <OBJ.> IT 53You are to take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given you the land to possess.
54AND YOU WILL INHERIT <OBJ.> THE LAND BY LOT TO CLANS YOUR FOR THE MANY YOU WILL MAKE GREAT <OBJ.> INHERITANCE ITS AND FOR THE FEW YOU WILL MAKE SMALL <OBJ.> INHERITANCE ITS <TO> WHERE IT WILL COME OUT FOR <THE> HIM THERE <TOWARDS> THE LOT TO <THE> HIM IT WILL BELONG TO [THE] TRIBES OF FATHERS YOUR YOU WILL INHERIT 54And you are to divide the land by lot according to your clans. Give a larger inheritance to a larger clan and a smaller inheritance to a smaller one. Whatever falls to each one by lot will be his. You will receive an inheritance according to the tribes of your fathers.
55AND IF NOT YOU WILL DISPOSSESS <OBJ.> [THE] INHABITANTS OF THE LAND FROM BEFORE YOU AND HE WILL BECOME [THOSE] WHOM YOU WILL LEAVE ANY OF <THE> THEM <INTO> THORNS IN VIEW YOUR AND <INTO> PRICKS IN SIDES YOUR AND THEY WILL OPPOSE <OBJ.> YOU ON THE LAND WHICH YOU [WILL BE] DWELLING IN <THE> IT 55But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land before you, those you allow to remain will become barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides; they will harass you in the land where you settle
56AND IT WILL BE JUST AS I INTENDED TO DO TO <THE> THEM I WILL DO TO <THE> YOU 56And then I will do to you what I had planned to do to them.”
