31AND HE WILL BE FREE THE MAN FROM INIQUITY AND THE WOMAN <THE> THAT SHE WILL BEAR <OBJ.> INIQUITY HER 31The husband will be free from guilt, but the woman shall bear her iniquity.”
1AND HE SPOKE YAHWEH TO MOSES <TO> SAYING The Nazirite Vow (Judges 13:1–25) 1And the LORD said to Moses,
2SPEAK TO [THE] PEOPLE OF ISRAEL AND YOU WILL SAY TO THEM A MAN OR A WOMAN IF HE WILL MAKE HARD TO VOW A VOW OF A NAZIRITE TO BE A NAZIRITE TO YAHWEH 2“Speak to the Israelites and tell them that if a man or woman makes a special vow, the vow of a Nazirite,*NoteCloseNazirite means one separated or one consecrated. to separate himself to the LORD,
3FROM WINE AND STRONG DRINK HE WILL KEEP SEPARATE VINEGAR OF WINE AND VINEGAR OF STRONG DRINK NOT HE WILL DRINK AND ANY JUICE OF GRAPES NOT HE WILL DRINK AND GRAPES FRESH AND DRIED NOT HE WILL EAT 3he is to abstain from wine and strong drink. He must not drink vinegar made from wine or strong drink, and he must not drink any grape juice or eat fresh grapes or raisins.
4ALL [THE] DAYS OF NAZIRITE VOW HIS ANY OF ALL THAT IT IS MADE FROM [THE] VINE OF THE WINE FROM SEEDS AND UNTO SKIN NOT HE WILL EAT 4All the days of his separation, he is not to eat anything that comes from the grapevine, not even the seeds or skins.
5ALL [THE] DAYS OF [THE] VOW OF NAZIRITE VOW HIS A RAZOR NOT IT WILL PASS OVER HEAD HIS UNTIL ARE COMPLETED THE DAYS WHICH HE WILL BE A NAZIRITE TO YAHWEH HOLY HE WILL BE HE WILL MAKE GROW [THE] LOCK[S] OF [THE] HAIR OF HEAD HIS 5For the entire period of his vow of separation, no razor shall touch his head. He must be holy until the time of his separation to the LORD is complete; he must let the hair of his head grow long.
6ALL [THE] DAYS OF BEING A NAZIRITE HE TO YAHWEH TO A CORPSE DEAD NOT HE WILL GO 6Throughout the days of his separation to the LORD, he must not go near a dead body.
7FOR FATHER HIS AND FOR MOTHER HIS FOR BROTHER HIS AND FOR SISTER HIS NOT HE WILL MAKE HIMSELF UNCLEAN FOR <THE> THEM BY DEATH THEIR FOR [THE] NAZIRITE VOW OF GOD HIS [IS] ON HEAD HIS 7Even if his father or mother or brother or sister should die, he is not to defile himself because the symbol of consecration to his God is upon his head.
8ALL [THE] DAYS OF NAZIRITE VOW HIS [IS] HOLY HE TO YAHWEH 8Throughout the time of his separation, he is holy to the LORD.
9AND IF HE WILL DIE A DEAD [PERSON] WITH HIM IN AN INSTANT SUDDENLY AND HE WILL MAKE UNCLEAN [THE] HEAD OF NAZIRITE VOW HIS AND HE WILL SHAVE HEAD HIS ON [THE] DAY OF PURIFICATION HIS ON THE DAY <THE> SEVENTH HE WILL SHAVE IT 9If someone suddenly dies in his presence and defiles his consecrated head of hair, he must shave his head on the day of his cleansing— the seventh day.
10AND ON THE DAY <THE> EIGHTH HE WILL BRING TWO TURTLE-DOVES OR TWO YOUNG ONES OF A DOVE TO THE PRIEST TO [THE] ENTRANCE OF [THE] TENT OF MEETING 10On the eighth day he must bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
11AND HE WILL OFFER THE PRIEST ONE [BIRD] TO A SIN OFFERING AND ONE TO A BURNT OFFERING AND HE WILL MAKE ATONEMENT ON HIM <FROM> BECAUSE HE SINNED ON THE CORPSE AND HE WILL CONSECRATE <OBJ.> HEAD HIS ON THE DAY <THE> THAT 11And the priest is to offer one as a sin offering*NoteCloseOr purification offering; here and throughout Numbers and the other as a burnt offering to make atonement for him, because he has sinned by being in the presence of the dead body. On that day he must consecrate his head again.
12AND HE WILL BE A NAZIRITE TO YAHWEH <OBJ.> [THE] DAYS OF NAZIRITE VOW HIS AND HE WILL BRING A LAMB [THE] SON OF YEAR ITS TO A GUILT OFFERING AND THE DAYS <THE> FORMER THEY WILL FALL FOR IT HAS BECOME UNCLEAN NAZIRITE VOW HIS 12He must rededicate his time of separation to the LORD and bring a year-old male lamb as a guilt offering. But the preceding days shall not be counted, because his separation was defiled.
13AND THIS [IS] [THE] LAW OF THE NAZIRITE ON [THE] DAY ARE COMPLETED [THE] DAYS OF NAZIRITE VOW HIS SOMEONE WILL BRING <OBJ.> HIM TO [THE] ENTRANCE OF [THE] TENT OF MEETING 13Now this is the law of the Nazirite when his time of separation is complete: He must be brought to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting,
14AND HE WILL BRING NEAR <OBJ.> OFFERING HIS TO YAHWEH A LAMB [THE] SON OF YEAR ITS UNBLEMISHED ONE TO A BURNT OFFERING AND A EWE-LAMB ONE [THE] DAUGHTER OF YEAR ITS UNBLEMISHED TO A SIN OFFERING AND A RAM ONE UNBLEMISHED TO A PEACE OFFERING<S> 14and he is to present an offering to the LORD of an unblemished year-old male lamb as a burnt offering, an unblemished year-old female lamb as a sin offering, and an unblemished ram as a peace offering—
15AND A BASKET OF UNLEAVENED BREAD<S> FINE FLOUR OF CAKES MIXED WITH <THE> OIL AND WAFERS OF UNLEAVENED BREAD<S> SMEARED WITH <THE> OIL AND GRAIN OFFERING THEIR AND DRINK OFFERINGS THEIR 15together with their grain offerings and drink offerings— and a basket of unleavened cakes made from fine flour mixed with oil and unleavened wafers coated with oil.
16AND HE WILL BRING [THEM] NEAR THE PRIEST <TO> BEFORE YAHWEH AND HE WILL OFFER <OBJ.> SIN OFFERING HIS AND <OBJ.> BURNT OFFERING HIS 16The priest is to present all these before the LORD and make the sin offering and the burnt offering.
17AND <OBJ.> THE RAM HE WILL OFFER A SACRIFICE OF PEACE OFFERINGS TO YAHWEH WITH [THE] BASKET OF THE UNLEAVENED BREAD<S> AND HE WILL OFFER THE PRIEST <OBJ.> GRAIN OFFERING ITS AND <OBJ.> DRINK OFFERING ITS 17He shall also offer the ram as a peace offering to the LORD, along with the basket of unleavened bread. And the priest is to offer the accompanying grain offering and drink offering.
18AND HE WILL SHAVE THE NAZIRITE [THE] ENTRANCE OF [THE] TENT OF MEETING <OBJ.> [THE] HEAD OF NAZIRITE VOW HIS AND HE WILL TAKE <OBJ.> [THE] HAIR OF [THE] HEAD OF NAZIRITE VOW HIS AND HE WILL PUT [IT] ON THE FIRE WHICH [IS] UNDER [THE] SACRIFICE OF THE PEACE OFFERINGS 18Then at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, the Nazirite is to shave his consecrated head take the hair and put it on the fire under the peace offering.
19AND HE WILL TAKE THE PRIEST <OBJ.> THE ARM BOILED FROM THE RAM AND A CAKE OF UNLEAVENED BREAD ONE FROM THE BASKET AND A WAFER OF UNLEAVENED BREAD ONE AND HE WILL PUT [THEM] ON [THE] HANDS OF THE NAZIRITE AFTER HE HAS SHAVED HIMSELF <OBJ.> NAZIRITE VOW HIS 19And the priest is to take the boiled shoulder from the ram, one unleavened cake from the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and put them into the hands of the Nazirite who has just shaved the hair of his consecration.
20AND HE WILL WAVE <OBJ.> THEM THE PRIEST A WAVE-OFFERING <TO> BEFORE YAHWEH [IS] A HOLY PORTION IT FOR THE PRIEST WITH [THE] BREAST OF THE WAVE-OFFERING AND WITH [THE] THIGH OF THE CONTRIBUTION AND AFTER HE WILL DRINK THE NAZIRITE WINE 20The priest shall then wave them as a wave offering before the LORD. This is a holy portion for the priest, in addition to the breast of the wave offering and the thigh that was presented. After that, the Nazirite may drink wine.
21THIS [IS] [THE] LAW OF THE NAZIRITE WHO HE WILL VOW OFFERING HIS TO YAHWEH ON NAZIRITE VOW HIS <FROM> <TO> BESIDES [THAT] WHICH IT WILL REACH HAND HIS ACCORDING TO [THE] MOUTH OF VOW HIS WHICH HE WILL VOW SO HE WILL DO ON [THE] LAW OF NAZIRITE VOW HIS 21This is the law of the Nazirite who vows his offering to the LORD for his separation, in addition to whatever else he can afford he must fulfill whatever vow he makes, according to the law of his separation.”
23SPEAK TO AARON AND TO SONS HIS <TO> SAYING THUS YOU WILL BLESS <OBJ.> [THE] PEOPLE OF ISRAEL SAY TO <THE> THEM 23“Tell Aaron and his sons: This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them:
25MAY HE MAKE SHINE YAHWEH FACE HIS TO YOU AND MAY HE SHOW FAVOR TO YOU 25may the LORD cause His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
26MAY HE LIFT UP YAHWEH FACE HIS TO YOU AND MAY HE APPOINT FOR <THE> YOU PEACE 26may the LORD lift up His countenance toward you and give you peace.’
27AND THEY WILL PUT <OBJ.> NAME MY ON [THE] PEOPLE OF ISRAEL AND I I WILL BLESS THEM 27So they shall put My name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.”
