17BECAUSE THE LAMB <THE> IN THE CENTER OF THE THRONE WILL SHEPHERD THEM AND HE WILL LEAD THEM TO OF LIFE FOUNTAINS OF WATERS, AND WILL WIPE AWAY <THE> GOD EVERY TEAR FROM THE EYES OF THEM.’ 17For the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd.*NoteCloseSee Psalm 23:1. 1AND WHEN HE OPENED THE SEAL <THE> SEVENTH, THERE WAS SILENCE IN <THE> HEAVEN FOR ABOUT HALF AN HOUR. The Seventh Seal 1When the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
2AND I SAW THE SEVEN ANGELS WHO BEFORE <THE> GOD HAVE STOOD AND WERE GIVEN TO THEM SEVEN TRUMPETS. 2And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and they were given seven trumpets.
3AND ANOTHER ANGEL CAME AND HE STOOD AT THE ALTAR HAVING A CENSER GOLDEN. AND WAS GIVEN TO HIM INCENSE MUCH THAT HE WILL GIVE [IT] WITH THE PRAYERS OF THE SAINTS ALL UPON THE ALTAR <THE> GOLDEN <THE> BEFORE THE THRONE. 3Then another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, along with the prayers of all the saints, on the golden altar before the throne.
4AND WENT UP THE SMOKE OF THE INCENSE WITH THE PRAYERS OF THE SAINTS OUT OF [THE] HAND OF THE ANGEL BEFORE <THE> GOD. 4And the smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of the saints, rose up before God from the hand of the angel.
5AND HAS TAKEN THE ANGEL THE CENSER AND FILLED IT FROM THE FIRE OF THE ALTAR AND CAST [IT] TO THE EARTH. AND THERE WERE THUNDERS AND SOUNDS AND FLASHES OF LIGHTNING AND AN EARTHQUAKE. 5Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it to the earth; and there were peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake.
6AND THE SEVEN ANGELS WHO ARE HAVING THE SEVEN TRUMPETS PREPARED THEMSELVES THAT THEY MAY SOUND THE TRUMPETS. The First Four Trumpets 6And the seven angels with the seven trumpets prepared to sound them.
7AND THE FIRST ANGEL SOUNDED [HIS] TRUMPET, AND THERE WAS HAIL AND FIRE MIXED WITH BLOOD, AND IT WAS CAST UPON THE EARTH AND THE THIRD OF THE EARTH WAS BURNED UP; AND THE THIRD OF THE TREES WERE BURNED UP, AND ALL [THE] GRASS GREEN WAS BURNED UP. 7Then the first angel sounded his trumpet, and hail and fire mixed with blood were hurled down upon the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, along with a third of the trees and all the green grass.
8AND THE SECOND ANGEL SOUNDED [HIS] TRUMPET, AND [SOMETHING] LIKE A MOUNTAIN GREAT WITH FIRE BURNING WAS CAST INTO THE SEA; AND BECAME <THE> A THIRD OF THE SEA BLOOD. 8Then the second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned to blood,
9AND DIED <THE> A THIRD OF THE CREATURES <THE> IN THE SEA WHO ARE HAVING LIFE, AND <THE> A THIRD OF THE SHIPS WERE DESTROYED. 9a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
10AND THE THIRD ANGEL SOUNDED [HIS] TRUMPET, AND FELL OUT OF <THE> HEAVEN A STAR GREAT BURNING LIKE A TORCH AND IT FELL UPON <THE> A THIRD OF THE RIVERS AND UPON THE SPRINGS <THE> OF WATERS. 10Then the third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star burning like a torch fell from heaven and landed on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water.
11AND THE NAME OF THE STAR IS NAMED <THE> WORMWOOD; AND BECAME <THE> A THIRD OF THE WATERS INTO WORMWOOD, AND MANY OF THE MEN DIED FROM THE WATERS BECAUSE THEY WERE MADE BITTER. 11The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter like wormwood oil,*NoteCloseLiterally became wormwood and many people died from the bitter waters.
12AND THE FOURTH ANGEL SOUNDED [HIS] TRUMPET, AND WAS STRUCK <THE> A THIRD OF THE SUN AND <THE> A THIRD OF THE MOON AND <THE> A THIRD OF THE STARS SO THAT MAY BE DARKENED <THE> A THIRD OF THEM, AND <THE> DAY NOT MAY APPEAR [FOR] <THE> A THIRD OF HER AND THE NIGHT LIKEWISE. 12Then the fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun and moon and stars were struck. A third of the stars were darkened, a third of the day was without light, and a third of the night as well.
13AND I LOOKED AND I HEARD ONE EAGLE FLYING IN MID-HEAVEN SAYING IN A VOICE LOUD; WOE WOE WOE TO THOSE DWELLING ON THE EARTH BECAUSE OF THE REMAINING VOICES OF THE TRUMPET OF THE THREE ANGELS WHO ARE BEING ABOUT TO SOUND [THEIR] TRUMPETS! 13And as I observed, I heard an eagle flying overhead, calling in a loud voice, “Woe! Woe! Woe to those who dwell on the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the remaining three angels! ”
