28<TO> THEREFORE SAY TO THEM THUS HE SAYS [THE] LORD YAHWEH NOT IT WILL BE POSTPONED AGAIN ALL WORDS MY [THAT] WHICH I WILL SPEAK A WORD SO IT MAY BE DONE [THE] UTTERANCE OF [THE] LORD YAHWEH 28Therefore tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘None of My words will be delayed any longer. The message I speak will be fulfilled, declares the Lord GOD.’”
1AND IT CAME [THE] WORD OF YAHWEH TO ME <TO> SAYING Reproof of False Prophets (Micah 2:6–11) 1Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
2O SON OF HUMANKIND PROPHESY AGAINST [THE] PROPHETS OF ISRAEL WHO ARE PROPHESYING AND YOU WILL SAY TO [THE] PROPHETS FROM OWN HEART THEIR HEAR [THE] WORD OF YAHWEH 2“Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who are now prophesying. Tell those who prophesy out of their own imagination: Hear the word of the LORD!
3THUS HE SAYS [THE] LORD YAHWEH WOE! ON THE PROPHETS THE FOOLS WHO [ARE] WALKING AFTER OWN SPIRIT THEIR AND TO NOT THEY HAVE SEEN 3This is what the Lord GOD says: Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit yet have seen nothing.
4LIKE FOXES AMONG RUINS PROPHETS YOUR O ISRAEL THEY HAVE BEEN 4Your prophets, O Israel, are like foxes among the ruins.
5NOT YOU HAVE GONE UP IN THE BREACHES AND YOU HAVE WALLED UP A WALL ON [THE] HOUSE OF ISRAEL TO STAND IN THE BATTLE ON [THE] DAY YAHWEH 5You did not go up to the gaps or restore the wall around the house of Israel so that it would stand in the battle on the Day of the LORD.
6THEY HAVE SEEN WORTHLESSNESS AND DIVINATION OF FALSEHOOD THOSE [WHO] SAY [THE] UTTERANCE OF YAHWEH AND YAHWEH NOT HE HAS SENT THEM AND THEY HAVE WAITED TO FULFILL A WORD 6They see false visions and speak lying divinations. They claim, ‘Thus declares the LORD,’ when the LORD did not send them; yet they wait for the fulfillment of their message.
7¿ NOT A VISION OF WORTHLESSNESS HAVE YOU SEEN AND DIVINATION OF FALSEHOOD HAVE YOU SAID? AND [YOU WERE] SAYING [THE] UTTERANCE OF YAHWEH AND I NOT I HAVE SPOKEN 7Haven’t you seen a false vision and spoken a lying divination when you proclaim, ‘Thus declares the LORD,’ even though I have not spoken?
8<TO> THEREFORE THUS HE SAYS [THE] LORD YAHWEH BECAUSE HAVE SPOKEN YOU WORTHLESSNESS AND YOU HAVE SEEN FALSEHOOD <TO> THEREFORE HERE I [AM] AGAINST YOU [THE] UTTERANCE OF [THE] LORD YAHWEH 8Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Because you have uttered vain words and seen false visions, I am against you, declares the Lord GOD.
9AND IT WILL BE HAND MY AGAINST THE PROPHETS WHO SEE WORTHLESSNESS AND WHO DIVINE FALSEHOOD IN [THE] COUNCIL OF PEOPLE MY NOT THEY WILL BE AND IN [THE] REGISTER OF [THE] HOUSE OF ISRAEL NOT THEY WILL BE WRITTEN DOWN AND INTO [THE] LAND OF ISRAEL NOT THEY WILL GO AND YOU WILL KNOW THAT I [AM THE] LORD YAHWEH 9My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and speak lying divinations. They will not belong to the council of My people or be recorded in the register of the house of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord GOD.
10BECAUSE AND BY CAUSE THEY HAVE LED ASTRAY <OBJ.> PEOPLE MY <TO> SAYING PEACE AND THERE NOT [IS] PEACE AND HE [IS] BUILDING A WALL AND THERE THEY [ARE] PLASTERING <OBJ.> IT WHITEWASH 10Because they have led My people astray, saying, ‘Peace,’ when there is no peace, and whitewashing any flimsy wall that is built,
11SAY TO [THE] PLASTERERS OF WHITEWASH SO IT MAY FALL IT WILL COME RAIN OVERFLOWING AND YOU O STONES OF HAIL YOU WILL FALL AND A WIND OF TEMPESTS IT WILL BREAK THROUGH [THE WALL] 11tell those whitewashing the wall that it will fall. Rain will come in torrents, I will send hailstones plunging down, and a windstorm will burst forth.
12AND THERE! IT HAS FALLEN THE WALL ¿ NOT WILL IT BE SAID TO YOU WHERE? [IS] THE PLASTER WHICH YOU PLASTERED 12Surely when the wall has fallen, you will not be asked, ‘Where is the whitewash with which you covered it?’
13<TO> THEREFORE THUS HE SAYS [THE] LORD YAHWEH AND I WILL MAKE BREAK OUT A WIND OF TEMPESTS IN RAGE MY AND RAIN OVERFLOWING IN ANGER MY IT WILL COME AND STONES OF HAIL IN RAGE FOR COMPLETE DESTRUCTION 13Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: In My wrath I will release a windstorm, and in My anger torrents of rain and hail will fall with destructive fury.
14AND I WILL TEAR DOWN <OBJ.> THE WALL WHICH YOU PLASTERED WHITEWASH AND I WILL MAKE TOUCH IT <TO> THE GROUND AND IT WILL BE UNCOVERED FOUNDATION[S] ITS AND IT WILL FALL AND YOU WILL COME TO AN END IN [THE] MIDST OF IT AND YOU WILL KNOW THAT I [AM] YAHWEH 14I will tear down the wall you whitewashed and level it to the ground, so that its foundation is exposed. The city will fall, and you will be destroyed within it. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
15AND I WILL COMPLETE <OBJ.> RAGE MY ON THE WALL AND ON <THE> [THOSE WHO] PLASTERED <OBJ.> IT WHITEWASH SO I MAY SAY TO YOU THERE NOT [IS] THE WALL AND THERE [ARE] NOT THOSE [WHO] PLASTERED <OBJ.> IT 15And after I have vented My wrath against the wall and against those who whitewashed it I will say to you: ‘The wall is gone, and so are those who whitewashed it—
16[THE] PROPHETS OF ISRAEL WHO PROPHESIED CONCERNING JERUSALEM AND WHO SAW FOR IT A VISION OF PEACE AND THERE NOT [WAS] PEACE [THE] UTTERANCE OF [THE] LORD YAHWEH 16those prophets of Israel who prophesied to Jerusalem and saw a vision of peace for her when there was no peace, declares the Lord GOD.’
17AND YOU O SON OF HUMANKIND SET FACE YOUR AGAINST [THE] DAUGHTERS OF PEOPLE YOUR WHO PROPHESY FROM OWN HEART THEIR AND PROPHESY ON THEM Reproof of False Prophetesses 17Now, O son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people who prophesy out of their own imagination. Prophesy against them
18AND YOU WILL SAY THUS HE SAYS [THE] LORD YAHWEH WOE! TO [WOMEN WHO] SEW BANDS ON ALL [THE] JOINTS OF HANDS MY AND [WOMEN WHO] MAKE THE LONG VEILS ON [THE] HEAD OF EVERY STATURE TO HUNT PERSONS ¿ PERSONS WILL YOU HUNT OF PEOPLE MY AND PERSONS OF YOURSELF WILL YOU PRESERVE ALIVE? 18and tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: Woe to the women who sew magic charms on their wrists and make veils for the heads of people of every height, in order to ensnare their souls. Will you ensnare the souls of My people but preserve your own?
19AND YOU HAVE PROFANED <OBJ.> ME TO PEOPLE MY FOR HANDFULS OF BARLEY<S> AND FOR FRAGMENTS OF BREAD BY PUTTING TO DEATH PERSONS WHO NOT THEY WILL DIE AND BY PRESERVING ALIVE PERSONS WHO NOT THEY WILL LIVE WHEN SPEAK FALSEHOOD YOU TO PEOPLE MY [WHO] LISTEN TO <OF> FALSEHOOD 19You have profaned Me among My people for handfuls of barley and scraps of bread. By lying to My people who would listen, you have killed those who should not have died and spared those who should not have lived.
20<TO> THEREFORE THUS HE SAYS [THE] LORD YAHWEH HERE I [AM] AGAINST BANDS YOUR WHICH YOU [ARE] HUNTING THERE <OBJ.> THE PERSONS FOR BIRDS AND I WILL TEAR AWAY <OBJ.> THEM FROM ON ARMS YOUR AND I WILL SET FREE <OBJ.> THE PERSONS WHOM YOU [ARE] HUNTING <OBJ.> PERSONS FOR BIRDS 20Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: See, I am against the magic charms with which you ensnare souls like birds, and I will tear them from your arms. So I will free the souls you have ensnared like birds.
21AND I WILL TEAR AWAY <OBJ.> LONG VEILS YOUR AND I WILL DELIVER <OBJ.> PEOPLE MY FROM HAND YOUR AND NOT THEY WILL BECOME AGAIN IN HAND YOUR <INTO> PREY AND YOU WILL KNOW THAT I [AM] YAHWEH 21I will also tear off your veils and deliver My people from your hands, so that they will no longer be prey in your hands. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
22BECAUSE DISHEARTENED [THE] HEART OF [THE] RIGHTEOUS FALSEHOOD AND I NOT I CAUSED PAIN HIM AND TO STRENGTHEN [THE] HANDS OF [THE] WICKED TO NOT TO TURN BACK FROM WAY HIS <THE> EVIL TO PRESERVE ALIVE HIM 22Because you have disheartened the righteous with your lies, even though I have caused them no grief, and because you have encouraged the wicked not to turn from their evil ways to save their lives,
23<TO> THEREFORE WORTHLESSNESS NOT YOU WILL SEE AND DIVINATION NOT YOU WILL DIVINE AGAIN AND I WILL DELIVER <OBJ.> PEOPLE MY FROM HAND YOUR AND YOU WILL KNOW THAT I [AM] YAHWEH 23therefore you will no longer see false visions or practice divination. I will deliver My people from your hands. Then you will know that I am the LORD.”
