29AND THEY [ARE] PEOPLE YOUR AND INHERITANCE YOUR WHICH YOU BROUGHT OUT BY STRENGTH YOUR <THE> GREAT AND BY ARM YOUR <THE> OUTSTRETCHED 29But they are Your people, Your inheritance, whom You brought out by Your great power and outstretched arm.”
1AT THE TIME <THE> THAT HE SAID YAHWEH TO ME CUT OUT FOR <THE> YOURSELF TWO TABLETS OF STONE<S> LIKE THE FORMER [TABLETS] AND COME UP TO ME THE MOUNTAIN TOWARDS AND YOU WILL MAKE FOR <THE> YOURSELF AN ARK OF WOOD New Stone Tablets (Exodus 34:1–9) 1At that time the LORD said to me, “Chisel out two stone tablets like the originals, come up to Me on the mountain, and make an ark of wood.
2SO I MAY INSCRIBE ON THE TABLETS <OBJ.> THE WORDS WHICH THEY WERE ON THE TABLETS <THE> FORMER WHICH YOU SHATTERED AND YOU WILL PUT THEM IN THE ARK 2And I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke; and you are to place them in the ark.”
3AND I MADE AN ARK OF WOOD<S> OF ACACIA AND I CUT OUT TWO TABLETS OF STONE<S> LIKE THE FORMER [TABLETS] AND I WENT UP THE MOUNTAIN TOWARDS AND [THE] TWO THE TABLETS [WERE] IN HAND MY 3So I made an ark of acacia wood, chiseled out two stone tablets like the originals, and went up the mountain with the two tablets in my hands.
4AND HE WROTE ON THE TABLETS LIKE THE WRITING <THE> FORMER <OBJ.> [THE] TEN THE WORDS WHICH HE HAD SPOKEN YAHWEH TO YOU ON THE MOUNTAIN FROM [THE] MIDDLE OF THE FIRE ON [THE] DAY OF THE ASSEMBLY AND HE GAVE THEM YAHWEH TO ME 4And the LORD wrote on the tablets what had been written previously, the Ten Commandments*NoteCloseHebrew the Ten Words that He had spoken to you on the mountain out of the fire on the day of the assembly. The LORD gave them to me,
5AND I TURNED AND I CAME DOWN FROM THE MOUNTAIN AND I PUT <OBJ.> THE TABLETS IN THE ARK WHICH I HAD MADE AND THEY HAVE BEEN THERE JUST AS HE COMMANDED ME YAHWEH 5and I went back down the mountain and placed the tablets in the ark I had made, as the LORD had commanded me; and there they have remained.
6AND [THE] PEOPLE OF ISRAEL THEY SET OUT FROM BEEROTH BENE- YAAQAN MOSERAH THERE HE DIED AARON AND HE WAS BURIED THERE AND HE SERVED AS PRIEST ELEAZAR SON HIS IN PLACE OF HIM 6The Israelites traveled from Beeroth Bene-jaakan*NoteCloseOr from the wells of the Bene-jaakan to Moserah, where Aaron died and was buried and Eleazar his son succeeded him as priest.
7FROM THERE THEY SET OUT <THE> GUDGODAH TOWARDS AND FROM <THE> GUDGODAH TOWARDS JOTBATHAH A LAND OF TORRENTS OF WATER 7From there they traveled to Gudgodah, and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land with streams of water.
8AT THE TIME <THE> THAT HE SET APART YAHWEH <OBJ.> [THE] TRIBE OF THE LEVITE[S] TO CARRY <OBJ.> [THE] ARK OF [THE] COVENANT OF YAHWEH TO STAND <TO> BEFORE YAHWEH TO SERVE HIM AND TO BLESS IN NAME HIS UNTIL THE DAY <THE> THIS 8At that time the LORD set apart the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to serve Him, and to pronounce blessings in His name, as they do to this day.
9THERE- -FORE NOT IT BELONGS TO LEVI A PORTION AND AN INHERITANCE WITH BROTHERS HIS YAHWEH HE [IS] INHERITANCE HIS JUST AS HE SPOKE YAHWEH GOD YOUR TO <THE> HIM 9That is why Levi has no portion or inheritance among his brothers; the LORD is his inheritance, as the LORD your God promised him.
10AND I I REMAINED ON THE MOUNTAIN LIKE THE DAYS <THE> FORMER FORTY DAY[S] AND FORTY NIGHT[S] AND HE LISTENED YAHWEH TO ME ALSO AT THE TIME <THE> THAT NOT HE WAS WILLING YAHWEH TO DESTROY YOU 10I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights, like the first time, and that time the LORD again listened to me and agreed not to destroy you.
11AND HE SAID YAHWEH TO ME ARISE GO TO JOURNEYING <TO> BEFORE THE PEOPLE SO THEY MAY GO AND THEY MAY TAKE POSSESSION OF <OBJ.> THE LAND WHICH I SWORE TO ANCESTORS THEIR TO GIVE TO <THE> THEM 11Then the LORD said to me, “Get up. Continue your journey ahead of the people, that they may enter and possess the land that I swore to their fathers to give them.”
12AND NOW O ISRAEL WHAT? 13TO KEEP <OBJ.> [THE] COMMANDMENTS OF YAHWEH AND <OBJ.> STATUTES HIS WHICH I [AM] COMMANDING YOU THIS DAY FOR GOOD OF YOU 13and to keep the commandments and statutes of the LORD that I am giving you this day for your own good
14THERE! [BELONG] TO YAHWEH GOD YOUR THE HEAVENS AND [THE] HEAVENS OF THE HEAVENS THE EARTH AND ALL THAT [IS] IN <THE> IT 14Behold, to the LORD your God belong the heavens, even the highest heavens, and the earth and everything in it.
15ONLY <IN> ANCESTORS YOUR HE LOVED YAHWEH TO LOVE <OBJ.> THEM AND HE CHOSE <IN> OFFSPRING THEIR AFTER THEM <IN> <THE> YOU FROM ALL THE PEOPLES AS THE DAY <THE> THIS 15Yet the LORD has set His affection on your fathers and loved them. And He has chosen you, their descendants after them, above all the peoples, even to this day.
16AND YOU WILL CIRCUMCISE <OBJ.> [THE] FORESKIN OF HEART YOUR AND NECK YOUR NOT YOU WILL MAKE STIFF AGAIN 16Circumcise your hearts, therefore, and stiffen your necks no more.
17FOR YAHWEH GOD YOUR HE [IS] [THE] GOD OF THE GODS AND [THE] LORD<S> OF THE LORDS THE GOD <THE> GREAT <THE> MIGHTY AND <THE> AWESOME WHO NOT HE LIFTS UP FACE AND NOT HE TAKES A BRIBE 17For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, mighty, and awesome God, showing no partiality and accepting no bribe.
18[HE IS] BRINGING ABOUT JUDGMENT OF A FATHERLESS ONE AND A WIDOW AND [HE IS] LOVING A SOJOURNER TO GIVE TO <THE> HIM FOOD AND CLOTHING 18He executes justice for the fatherless and widow, and He loves the foreigner, giving him food and clothing.
19AND YOU WILL LOVE <OBJ.> THE SOJOURNER FOR SOJOURNERS YOU WERE IN [THE] LAND OF EGYPT 19So you also must love the foreigner, since you yourselves were foreigners in the land of Egypt.
20<OBJ.> YAHWEH GOD YOUR YOU WILL FEAR <OBJ.> HIM YOU WILL SERVE AND TO HIM YOU WILL CLEAVE AND IN NAME HIS YOU WILL SWEAR OATHS 20You are to fear the LORD your God and serve Him. Hold fast to Him and take your oaths in His name.
21HE [IS] PRAISE YOUR AND HE [IS] GOD YOUR WHO HE HAS DONE WITH YOU <OBJ.> THE GREAT [THINGS] AND <OBJ.> THE AWESOME [DEEDS] <THE> THESE WHICH THEY HAVE SEEN EYES YOUR 21He is your praise and He is your God, who has done for you these great and awesome wonders that your eyes have seen.
22<IN> SEVENTY PERSON[S] THEY WENT DOWN ANCESTORS YOUR EGYPT TOWARDS AND NOW HE HAS MADE YOU YAHWEH GOD YOUR LIKE [THE] STARS OF THE HEAVENS FOR MULTITUDE 22Your fathers went down to Egypt, seventy in all, and now the LORD your God has made you as numerous as the stars in the sky.
