Constructing the Ark
(Exodus 25:10–16 )
1 Bezalel went on to construct the ark of acacia wood, two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high.
2 AND HE OVERLAID IT GOLD PURE FROM INSIDE AND FROM OUTSIDE AND HE MADE FOR <THE> IT A MOLDING OF GOLD ALL AROUND
2 He overlaid it with pure gold, both inside and out, and made a gold molding around it.
3 AND HE CAST FOR <THE> IT FOUR RINGS OF GOLD ON [THE] FOUR FEET ITS AND TWO RINGS [WERE] ON SIDE ITS <THE> ONE AND TWO RINGS [WERE] ON SIDE ITS <THE> SECOND
3 And he cast four gold rings for its four feet, two rings on one side and two on the other.
4 AND HE MADE POLES OF WOOD<S> OF ACACIA AND HE OVERLAID <OBJ.> THEM GOLD
4 Then he made poles of acacia wood and overlaid them with gold.
5 AND HE PUT <OBJ.> THE POLES IN THE RINGS ON [THE] SIDES OF THE ARK TO CARRY <OBJ.> THE ARK
5 He inserted the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark in order to carry it.
6 AND HE MADE AN ATONEMENT COVER OF GOLD PURE [WAS] TWO CUBITS AND A HALF LENGTH ITS AND [WAS] A CUBIT AND A HALF BREADTH ITS
The Mercy Seat
(Exodus 25:17–22 )
6 He constructed a mercy seat of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide.
7 AND HE MADE TWO CHERUBIM GOLD HAMMERED WORK HE MADE <OBJ.> THEM FROM [THE] TWO [THE] ENDS OF THE ATONEMENT COVER
7 He made two cherubim of hammered gold at the ends of the mercy seat,
8 A CHERUB ONE [WAS] FROM AN END FROM THIS AND A CHERUB ONE [WAS] FROM AN END FROM THIS FROM THE ATONEMENT COVER HE MADE <OBJ.> THE CHERUBIM FROM [THE] TWO ENDS ITS
8 one cherub on one end and one on the other all made from one piece of gold.
9 AND THEY WERE THE CHERUBIM SPREADING OUT <OF> WINGS <TO> UPWARDS <TOWARDS> COVERING WITH WINGS THEIR OVER THE ATONEMENT COVER AND FACES THEIR EACH [WAS] TO BROTHER ITS TO THE ATONEMENT COVER THEY WERE [THE] FACES OF THE CHERUBIM
9 And the cherubim had wings that spread upward, overshadowing the mercy seat. The cherubim faced each other, looking toward the mercy seat.
10 AND HE MADE <OBJ.> THE TABLE WOOD<S> OF ACACIA [WAS] TWO CUBITS LENGTH ITS AND [WAS] A CUBIT BREADTH ITS AND [WAS] A CUBIT AND A HALF HEIGHT ITS
The Table of Showbread
(Exodus 25:23–30 ; Leviticus 24:5–9 )
10 He also made the table of acacia wood two cubits long, a cubit wide, and a cubit and a half high.
11 AND HE OVERLAID <OBJ.> IT GOLD PURE AND HE MADE FOR <THE> IT A MOLDING OF GOLD ALL AROUND
11 He overlaid it with pure gold and made a gold molding around it.
12 AND HE MADE FOR <THE> IT A RIM OF A HAND BREADTH ALL AROUND AND HE MADE A MOLDING OF GOLD FOR RIM ITS ALL AROUND
12 And he made a rim around it a handbreadth wide and put a gold molding on the rim.
13 AND HE CAST FOR <THE> IT FOUR RINGS OF GOLD AND HE PUT <OBJ.> THE RINGS ON [THE] FOUR THE CORNERS WHICH [BELONGED] TO [THE] FOUR FEET ITS
13 He cast four gold rings for the table and fastened them to the four corners at its four legs.
14 <TO> CLOSE TO THE RIM THEY WERE THE RINGS HOLDERS FOR THE POLES TO CARRY <OBJ.> THE TABLE
14 The rings were placed close to the rim, to serve as holders for the poles used to carry the table.
15 AND HE MADE <OBJ.> THE POLES WOOD<S> OF ACACIA AND HE OVERLAID <OBJ.> THEM GOLD TO CARRY <OBJ.> THE TABLE
15 He made the poles of acacia wood for carrying the table and overlaid them with gold.
16 AND HE MADE <OBJ.> THE ARTICLES WHICH [WERE] ON THE TABLE <OBJ.> DISHES ITS AND <OBJ.> PANS ITS AND <OBJ.> BOWLS ITS AND <OBJ.> THE JUGS WHICH IT WAS POURED OUT WITH <THE> THEM GOLD PURE
16 He also made the utensils for the table out of pure gold: its plates and dishes, as well as its bowls and pitchers for pouring drink offerings.
17 AND HE MADE <OBJ.> THE LAMPSTAND GOLD PURE HAMMERED WORK HE MADE <OBJ.> THE LAMPSTAND BASE ITS AND SHAFT ITS CUPS ITS BULBS ITS AND BLOSSOMS ITS FROM IT THEY WERE
The Lampstand
(Exodus 25:31–40 ; Numbers 8:1–4 )
17 Then he made the lampstand out of pure hammered gold, all of one piece: its base and shaft, its cups, and its buds and petals.
18 AND SIX BRANCHES [WERE] GOING OUT FROM SIDES ITS THREE BRANCHES OF LAMPSTAND [WERE] FROM SIDE ITS <THE> ONE AND THREE BRANCHES OF LAMPSTAND [WERE] FROM SIDE ITS <THE> SECOND
18 Six branches extended from the sides, three on one side and three on the other.
19 THREE CUPS SHAPED LIKE ALMOND BLOSSOMS [WERE] ON THE BRANCH <THE> ONE A BULB AND A BLOSSOM AND THREE CUPS SHAPED LIKE ALMOND BLOSSOMS [WERE] ON A BRANCH ONE A BULB AND A BLOSSOM THUS FOR [THE] SIX THE BRANCHES WHICH CAME OUT FROM THE LAMPSTAND
19 There were three cups shaped like almond blossoms on the first branch, each with buds and petals, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches that extended from the lampstand.
20 AND [WERE] ON THE LAMPSTAND FOUR CUPS SHAPED LIKE ALMOND BLOSSOMS BULBS ITS AND BLOSSOMS ITS
20 And on the lampstand were four cups shaped like almond blossoms with buds and petals.
21 AND A BULB [WAS] UNDER TWO OF THE BRANCHES FROM IT AND A BULB [WAS] UNDER TWO OF THE BRANCHES FROM IT AND A BULB [WAS] UNDER TWO OF THE BRANCHES FROM IT FOR [THE] SIX THE BRANCHES WHICH CAME OUT FROM IT
21 A bud was under the first pair of branches that extended from the lampstand, a bud under the second pair and a bud under the third pair.
22 BULBS THEIR AND BRANCHES THEIR FROM IT THEY WERE ALL OF IT [WAS] HAMMERED WORK ONE GOLD PURE
22 The buds and branches were all of one piece with the lampstand, hammered out of pure gold.
23 AND HE MADE <OBJ.> LAMPS ITS SEVEN AND TONGS ITS AND FIRE-PANS ITS GOLD PURE
23 He also made its seven lamps, its wick trimmers, and trays of pure gold.
24 A TALENT OF GOLD PURE HE MADE <OBJ.> IT AND <OBJ.> ALL ARTICLES ITS
24 He made the lampstand and all its utensils from a talent of pure gold.
25 AND HE MADE <OBJ.> [THE] ALTAR OF <THE> INCENSE WOOD<S> OF ACACIA [WAS] A CUBIT LENGTH ITS AND [WAS] A CUBIT BREADTH ITS SQUARE AND [WAS] TWO CUBITS HEIGHT ITS FROM IT THEY WERE HORNS ITS
The Altar of Incense
(Exodus 30:1–10 )
25 He made the altar of incense out of acacia wood. It was square, a cubit long, a cubit wide, and two cubits high. Its horns were of one piece.
26 AND HE OVERLAID <OBJ.> IT GOLD PURE <OBJ.> TOP ITS AND <OBJ.> SIDES ITS ALL AROUND AND <OBJ.> HORNS ITS AND HE MADE FOR <THE> IT A MOLDING OF GOLD ALL AROUND
26 And he overlaid with pure gold the top and all the sides and horns. Then he made a molding of gold around it.
27 AND TWO RINGS OF GOLD HE MADE FOR <THE> IT FROM UNDER TO MOLDING ITS ON [THE] TWO SIDES ITS ON [THE] TWO SIDES ITS FOR HOLDERS FOR POLES TO CARRY <OBJ.> IT BY <THE> THEM
27 He made two gold rings below the molding on opposite sides to hold the poles used to carry it.
28 AND HE MADE <OBJ.> THE POLES WOOD<S> OF ACACIA AND HE OVERLAID <OBJ.> THEM GOLD
28 And he made the poles of acacia wood and overlaid them with gold.
29 AND HE MADE <OBJ.> [THE] OIL OF <THE> ANOINTING A HOLY THING AND <OBJ.> [THE] INCENSE OF THE PERFUME<S> PURE [THE] WORK OF A PERFUMER
29 He also made the sacred anointing oil and the pure, fragrant incense, the work of a perfumer.
