This is how you are to assign responsibilities to the Levites.”

The Israelites did everything just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
AND IT WAS PEOPLE WHO THEY WERE UNCLEAN TO A CORPSE OF A PERSON AND NOT THEY WERE ABLE TO OBSERVE THE PASSOVER ON THE DAY <THE> THAT AND THEY DREW NEAR <TO> BEFORE MOSES AND <TO> BEFORE AARON ON THE DAY <THE> THAT 6But there were some men who were unclean due to a dead body, so they could not observe the Passover on that day. And they came before Moses and Aaron that same day
AND THEY SAID THE PEOPLE <THE> THOSE TO HIM WE [ARE] UNCLEAN TO A CORPSE OF A PERSON <TO> WHY? ARE WE RESTRAINED TO NOT TO BRING NEAR <OBJ.> [THE] OFFERING OF YAHWEH AT APPOINTED TIME ITS IN AMONG [THE] PEOPLE OF ISRAEL 7and said to Moses, “We are unclean because of a dead body, but why should we be excluded from presenting the LORD’s offering with the other Israelites at the appointed time?”
AND HE SAID TO THEM MOSES STAND SO LET ME HEAR WHAT? WILL HE COMMAND YAHWEH OF <THE> YOU 8“Wait here until I find out what the LORD commands concerning you,” Moses replied.
SPEAK TO [THE] PEOPLE OF ISRAEL <TO> SAYING A MAN A MAN IF HE WILL BE UNCLEAN TO A CORPSE OR ON A JOURNEY DISTANT TO YOU OR TO GENERATIONS YOUR AND HE WILL OBSERVE A PASSOVER TO YAHWEH 10“Tell the Israelites ‘When any one of you or your descendants is unclean because of a dead body, or is away on a journey, he may still observe the Passover to the LORD.
IN THE MONTH <THE> SECOND ON [THE] FOUR- TEEN DAY BETWEEN THE EVENINGS THEY WILL OBSERVE <OBJ.> IT WITH UNLEAVENED BREAD<S> AND BITTER HERBS THEY WILL EAT IT 11Such people are to observe it at twilight on the fourteenth day of the second month. 15AND ON [THE] DAY SET UP <OBJ.> THE TABERNACLE IT COVERED THE CLOUD <OBJ.> THE TABERNACLE OF [THE] TENT OF THE TESTIMONY AND IN THE EVENING IT WAS OVER THE TABERNACLE LIKE [THE] APPEARANCE OF FIRE UNTIL MORNING The Cloud above the Tabernacle (Exodus 40:34–38) 15On the day that the tabernacle, the Tent of the Testimony, was set up, the cloud covered it and appeared like fire above the tabernacle from evening until morning.
THUS IT WAS CONTINUALLY THE CLOUD IT COVERED IT AND [THE] APPEARANCE OF FIRE NIGHT 16It remained that way continually; the cloud would cover the tabernacle by day,*NoteCloseLXX, Syriac, and Vulgate; Hebrew does not include by day and at night it would appear like fire.
AND TO [THE] MOUTH OF [THE] TAKING UP OF THE CLOUD FROM OVER THE TENT AND AFTER THUS THEY SET OUT [THE] PEOPLE OF ISRAEL AND IN [THE] PLACE <OF> WHERE IT SETTLED DOWN THERE THE CLOUD THERE THEY ENCAMPED [THE] PEOPLE OF ISRAEL 17Whenever the cloud was lifted from above the Tent, the Israelites would set out, and wherever the cloud settled, there the Israelites would camp.
ON [THE] MOUTH OF YAHWEH THEY SET OUT [THE] PEOPLE OF ISRAEL AND ON [THE] MOUTH OF YAHWEH THEY ENCAMPED ALL [THE] DAYS <OF> WHICH IT SETTLED DOWN THE CLOUD OVER THE TABERNACLE THEY ENCAMPED 18At the LORD’s command the Israelites set out, and at the LORD’s command they camped. As long as the cloud remained over the tabernacle, they remained encamped.
AND WHEN MADE LONG THE CLOUD OVER THE TABERNACLE DAYS MANY AND THEY KEPT [THE] PEOPLE OF ISRAEL <OBJ.> [THE] DUTY OF YAHWEH AND NOT THEY SET OUT 19Even when the cloud lingered over the tabernacle for many days, the Israelites kept the LORD’s charge and did not set out.
AND THERE [WAS] WHEN IT WAS THE CLOUD DAYS NUMBER OVER THE TABERNACLE ON [THE] MOUTH OF YAHWEH THEY ENCAMPED AND ON [THE] MOUTH OF YAHWEH THEY SET OUT 20Sometimes the cloud remained over the tabernacle for only a few days, and they would camp at the LORD’s command and set out at the LORD’s command.
AND THERE [WAS] WHEN IT WAS THE CLOUD FROM EVENING UNTIL MORNING AND IT WAS TAKEN UP THE CLOUD IN THE MORNING AND THEY SET OUT OR BY DAY AND NIGHT AND IT WAS TAKEN UP THE CLOUD AND THEY SET OUT 21Sometimes the cloud remained only from evening until morning, and when it lifted in the morning, they would set out. 23ON [THE] MOUTH OF YAHWEH THEY ENCAMPED AND ON [THE] MOUTH OF YAHWEH THEY SET OUT <OBJ.> [THE] DUTY OF YAHWEH THEY KEPT ON [THE] MOUTH OF YAHWEH BY [THE] HAND OF MOSES 23They camped at the LORD’s command, and they set out at the LORD’s command; they carried out the LORD’s charge according to His command through Moses.
